I am diet soda junkie. I love them all! Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi, Coke Zero, Diet Sprite, etc. But I don't drink them every day anymore and I am working on cutting them out completely, or at least limiting them to once or twice a week.
I recently read in Self magazine that sodas, even diet, may lead to decreased bone density. I think the article said it was the phosphorous contained in the sodas. The article recommended limiting any soda intake to once a week.
We are all working so hard on making our bodies healthy and strong, it would be a shame to undercut our efforts by drinking soda.

I am trying to drop the soda. I find that I like the taste of diet better than regular. But I rarely drink soda anymore regardless. I guess that's a good thing.
That said, I did have a Sprite yesterday. But today is a new day!

You should go to the social event and be an example to the others. I would order my water and healthy meal. They might soon want to live healthy lives also. Until then, you should continue on the path you are going. You already know the path your friends are going on is not right, so why follow them?

| I'm big on the Coke. At least I used to be. I had my last soda on Jan 1st. I had almost a week of headaches. I didn't even realize I was addicted but thinking back I did really chug it down. It was my comfort on a hard day or if I was tired or sad. Now I need a substitute as well. I've been chugging the water like crazy! And I got a bunch of those Crystal Light packets which are delicious. But here's the real challenge... most Friday nights I go out with some co-workers for drinks. It's an important social event for me and I look forward to it. But... I don't drink alcohol. I've never even had a sip before. I usually drink a Coke while they have their drinks. But now that I don't drink Coke any more, what can I order to still be part of the gang? It's rude to go to a restaurant and only order water. And what about the appetizers? Oh dear...

I can't even remember the last time I had a soda. It's so crazy. I guess it is a good thing though.

I'm another who needs to stay clear of the soda (soft drink). Our fridge is always stocked with it and It is a ritual that everytime I pass the fridge, I also have a drink of soda.
One of my goals is to try and drink lots of water...so gone is the soft drink and in the water as gone.
I can proudly say that today I have had NO SODA!!!!

I was just wondering if you just started this program? I just started this week and I have been getting headaches and it is from caffine withdrawl also. I am an advid coffee drinker in the morning and since day 2 of my diet I can no longer drink or keep coffee down. It just don't taste good to me any more. I drink diet soda but it is not caffinated and maybe 1 can a day if that. But this is day 4 and the headaches are decreasing.I think they will go away soon when our body gets used to the fact that we are now eating right. Good luck to all

I really need this challenge right now. Yesterday, I had a huge craving for a soda. I never knew I was addicted to it. It causes me to breakout like crazy and bloat up. Why do I like something so bad? Thanks for creating this challenge! We can do it together.

| I am working on not drinking soda anymore, but am haveing a difficult time with caffine withdrawls. I haven't had any soda or anyting with caffine since Thursday and every evening I end up with these awful headaches. Does anyone have any suggestions for me so I can stop having the headaches and still not have the caffine. By cutting the soda out of my diet I will be getting rid of a whold lot of sodium that creates bloating. This is a great challenge for me and would love to achieve this goal, at the same time would also love to quit having the headaches.
