Like I said yesterday I was determined to stay on track! And for the most part I did! I didn't get in quite as much cardio as I wanted. My knees were killing me last night and I could only go on the eliptical for 15 minutes. I did do some crunches and push ups to try to make up for it.

Day Eight
Calories - 1200 - 1550 : 1372
Workout - Yes : 15 minutes Eliptical, 50 sit ups and 30 pushups
Mini-challenge - ? Didn't really see anyone yesterday that I don't know...

Okay, the weekend was a blur of holiday festivities... I actually counted my calories and did really bad. So yesterday, Monday, I was so busy with work I didn't even get a chance to eat lunch! Man, my body is really loving me now, (not really).
Day Seven (Monday)
Calories - 1200 - 1550 : 926
Workout - Yes : 2 sets of 15 Strength Circuit
Mini-challenge - Completed : Let a person in through traffic, held open door for elderly man at courthouse.

I'm ready for today, I am right on track!

THat's great Tracy...those are wonderful goals and definitely worth the effort. You are on your way girl!!

This has been a hectic weekend for me and I am sure for alot of us. So for the rest of this challenge, no need to post results...just check in if you want and do the mini challenge thru Thursday...which is to do something nice for at least one stranger a day (more if you want.) Today, I held the door open for 2 people, and said hello to a new employee at my gym.

I weighed in this morning at 175.8 (actually up a couple of pounds from the last time I weighed). So starting NOW my goals are:
1. Stay with in my calorie range
2. Exercise everyday (Strength and/or Cardio)
3. Drink 8+ glasses of water daily
4. Eat at least 2 fruits and 2 veggies daily
5. No eating after 8pm
6. No sweet or junk food

Doing all of these, I hope to lose 3 pounds this week. Wish me luck. Only 8 days and we can stop using the holidays as an excuse (YEAH).
Later, Tracy

Welcome Tracy...hope you had a great day today. I have been pretty much out this weekend so will post more Sunday night. The new mini challenge will start Monday. so for Monday thru Thursday, your goal is to pick 1 to 2 strangers and do something nice for them. Such as saying hello, opening the door for them, give them a smile, put coins their meters, etc. any random act of kindness will do.
Have a great weekend

Hi Justine..this time of the year we get lots of treats from well intended folks. My neighbor just dropped by yesterday with a large basket filled with homemade treats. Glad I could share them with my kids and family. So ya went over cals just a little. Hey...it could be alot higher so kudos for not overdoing the treats. Yesterday was so so for me ...also went up a little cals wise. But increased my treadmill time todayto make up for it.

day 3 Thursday
Calories - 1460-1690 : 2051
Workout - none
Mini-challenge - none...got home way to late

anyway...will post later for today stats which is much better.

Day three was okay... I kinda over did it with the calorie intake, but I tried to make up for it by adding a cardio workout in last night. I thought that's the least I could do. I just have to try to stay away from the Christmas Goodies we keep getting in the mail from customers and vendors! Cookies, caramels, chocolate truffles... It's never ending! AHHHH!

Day Three
Calories - 1200-1550 : 1918
Workout - 30 minutes brisk walking, 2 sets of 15 strength circuit
Mini-challenge - completed : 40 crunches & 30 pushups

Till tommorrow...

-Justine

PS - I may not post tomorrow or Sunday but I will update everything Monday. I don't have a computer at home, I just use mine at work. I am going to parents tomorrow, but I don't know if I'll have the time to get on their computer.

No it's not too late. We all need a little kickstart. For myself, my food has been so off the charts the past couple of weeks that anytime I can complete one day of the challenge, it's huge. Good job Lighter31 for tossing the pizza (I was not as strong.) Last night my cals were a little off so I up the workout today and did over an hour of jogging; also added 45 minutes of gym session.
For Thursday and Friday, the min challenge is 30 pushups and situps or crunches. If you can do more, then go for it!

Day One -
Calories - 1460-1690 : 2580
Workout - No
Mini-challenge - Completed, 3 oranges, 2 clementines, 2 persimons

I know it's a day late, but I'd love to join in on the challenge. I really need something to kick start this journey and this sounds great for me. I started this Sparkpeople thing yesterday and was doing so good till dinner came along... Papa John's pizza!!! No more of that. It threw my calorie's way off. I will do an extra 30 minutes of exercise tonight as the rules state.

Day One -
Calories - 1200-1550 : 2785
Workout - No
Mini-challenge - Completed

I'm in the middle of a holiday party at work and have had nothing but cake and chips all day so tomorrow's challenge is going to be right up my alley, LOL!

Wow this will be tough! I will join. I have my first party next Sat (I am sure if I have a drink or two I will go over that day) but aside from that I dont see anything barring me from meeting this goal!

Sounds like fun!

Hi Susan! I would love to join your challenge. I know exactly what you mean, I have at least four events coming up and I'm starting to feel completely overwhelmed. Looks like I found your challenge right in time! My name is Khadija, I weigh 166 pounds and will be sure to post my stats tomorrow!

This challenge starts tomorrow Tuesday Dec. 12 and ends Friday, Dec. 22. With all the temptations, events and parties coming up, I thought this may add some extra incentive to show up for your Christmas dinners looking even more marvelous.
For this challenge, all you need to do is stay within your caloric range and exercise at least 4 times a week for minimum of 30 minutes each session. In addition, I will also have a mini-challenge every couple of days. I'll post them the night before they begin ( For Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, it'll be to drink 9 cups of water a day and also eat 4 fruits/veggies.)

You are welcome to post your starting and ending weight although not require.
Each day, you need to post your stats as follows:

carlories (your range and how much for the day)
workout- (yes) or (no) and if yes, what and how much.
mini challenge completed-
also how your day went or any other motivational pointers for the rest of us.

Optional- if you need to, you can go over your calories for up to 2 days. If you did this, you will need to double up on your workout minutes the next days and stay away from refined sugar and alcohol for those one or two days.

This is only for 10 days and as tough as it is for me with 6 events coming up, I know we could all do it. We are so worthy of truly enjoying this holiday time looking good and not stuffed to the max.

Good Luck everyone!

Susan
