A NEW Year, a NEW DAY

Dr. Heartsill Wilson

This is the beginning of a new year a new day.

I have been given this day to use as I will.

I can waste it, or use it.

I can make it a day long to be remembered for its joy, its beauty and its achievements, or it can be filled with pettiness.

What I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.

When tomorrow comes this day will be gone forever, but I shall hold something which I have traded for it.

It may be no more than a memory, but if it is a worthy one I shall not regret the price.

I want it to be gain not loss, good not evil, success not failure.

Celebrate for today is a "NEW DAY" for all of us!!!
Why wait start NOW!

Of course the non-diet goals are okay.

My question is, what specific things to you plan to do in the next three weeks?

For example you could:
1. Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day
2. Set aside at least 30 minutes a day for "you time"
3. Make a weekly schedule to plan out what you want to do and make daily priority lists.

I think if you make your goals a little more specific then you can report here on how you've done and hold yourself accountable. What do you think?

This challenge is to get us all motivated for the New Year. The way that it works is that you identify three goals that you would like to accomplish in the New Year. Then, we take these last three weeks of 2006 and take small steps toward becoming that new person.

For example, I would like to (1) become a morning work-out person, (2) do strength training regularly, and (3) be an experimenter.

In order to do so, in the next three weeks I will (1) do one morning workout per week, (2) complete at least 1/2 of my strength training exercises 2x per week, and (3) try one new thing at the gym per week.

If you would like to join this challenge with me, post your three goals for the new year and the small steps that you will take in the next three weeks to get you jumpstarted on those resolutions!

Then, report back as you complete those steps each week and let us know how you're doing.
