Yay, somehow I made it under 1400 today!

Hey, since I seem to be talking to myself, I'm gonna take it to my community journal in the future. You can look it up on my Sparkpage :)

Went over by 150 calories or so yesterday. Didn't exercise either. Taking my son to the dentist took out too much time.

On the good side I am close to completion of a sewing project that has been hanging over my head.

Did okay yesterday under 1400 calories. Had some dental work done. Okay today though. Just did a bit of jump rope for exercise. Don't think I got 10 minutes but have done a lot for the past days and did my strength workout this morning.

Hi Terry!

This challenge has really helped me to keep my calories lower. Makes a difference. Hey check out the new abs video. Looks like a killer. She makes it look so easy though.

Is there anything else you are thinking of tracking for October? I guess from your ticker this didn't work great for you. New ideas?

I stayed under 1400 yesterday :) Spaghetti squash with spaghetti sauce and parmesan is really a great diet food.

Still exercising too. My carpool buddy has reappeared after a few days of stomach something, and I had to get my behind out of bed on time this morning :)

Hi Toocurveymama. I am so sorry, I missed this post. I buy Dyna Whey protein drinks. It is sweetened with splenda and is also low carb. I use one scoop (30g) to give me 23g of Protein, 111 calories and 2 carbs. This helps round ut my protein intake. Often I mix it with no fat/no sugar yogurt and some frozen berries. Tastes really good. Hope you are hanging in there. It is not to late to keep on this challenge. This is what this challenge is about...keeping on and not stopping. If you fall....start again...and do this as many times as it takes. I obviously fell off the wagon here....but I am going to keep climbing back on as long as it take me to lose this weight. Come on! :)

That is great Edith! So glad to hear that you are dropping pounds! It will be great to have you along in the October Pathetic Challenge.

Oh and Terry, I will keep going with you on this challenge. I have been loosing consistantly with this focus. I'm in another challenge, but it doesn't have a calorie goal.

Have more fruit available today thanks to a coworker who brought in some asian plums from her tree. We have no translation for the name and asian plum is the closest I can come up with to a description. Pleasant, small, light green with kind of red/brown splotches. Kind of the texture of an apple and not so juicy, but just one small seed in the middle.

I recommend cassaba too, the ribbed yellow ones. I have been disappointed by honeydews too much.

Cantalope is so refreshing. I have been really increasing my fruit and decreasing my bread, potatos pasta and rice. The change is making me feel much better.

I need to get back to having fruit for snacks. The carb type snacks, even if they are fat free and portion controlled (well the trail mix had fat), it is pushing me over 1400. I'm 1550 today. It is under my spark upper limit, but I really am wanting to do this challenge. I bought some bananas, but they are still green. I have a quarter of a cantaloupe I can take in for a snack tomorrow. I'll get it tomorrow I think.

Got into work lateish to be able to exercise there. Took a fifteen minute walk though.

I know I haven't been great on this challenge..but that is the purpose of this challenge...to establish good habits. I wouldn't have started this if I didn't have a problem with keeping to my weight loss regimen. The fact that we are still here..somewhat... is encouraging. I think I would like to carry on into October with an October Pathetic Challenge. Keep on as we are for this month...and on Oct 1st I will start a new thread with a new pathetic challenge. This way..all our stumblings will be gone with the old challenge and we can start again. We have done lots of good this month...so lets don't stop now. It would be great to continue until we can do an entire month without falling off the wagon. Does anyone want to continue?

Keep trying! How is the exercising? I did well again today. I managed 30 mins on treadmill and food was good. I have to enter it all though. I am feeling much better.

doing the calories for yesterday I found I ate 1500, so I was a bit over.

Today will be better I think.

Wow! That is great! You are doing it!
I am doing well on my eating and exercising. Only a few more days to go.

I'm doing okay, if I am not at 1400 calories, I am close. I have been exercising a lot, in the exercise room during the week and going out dancing on weekends.

How is everyone doing? I have been missing for a few days but am back. I have been eating great these past few days and also walking for 30 mins each day on my treadmill and doing some crunches. I am determined to end this month on a good note.

I'm under for today and worked out this morning. I am a little low on vegies though.

Keep on trying Curvey! Paying attention is an important part and you are doing that!

I have been well on the exercise but not tracking calories and low on my water. Hmmm... not good enough I guess.

What kind of protein drinks do you buy? Sounds good.

I certainly did better today than I did on the weekend. I did my strength training and am pretty certain I am under 1400 calories. Gotta go add dinner in. Got over 8 glasses of water too.

Did better today than I have been for a while. I find I am not getting quite enough protein...so I have started drinking my protein drinks. Seems to satisfy and reduce sugar cravings. I mix them with low fat yogurt and fruit. I am tickled that something that tastes so good is so healthy. Only 12 more days to go until we finish this challenge. Try to be good until then..then we can have a treat!

I know I can make popcorn in the microwave. I also have a hot air popper. But nothing is as good as popcorn in oil on the stovetop!

I was over the calorie limit today, but not by much--my eating was very disorganized. did go out dancing for exercise.

Great idea about the popcorn,I love it but never eat it b/c all of the store brands have sooo many calories, and fat. I did well on my water yesterday and my excercise, still having a hard time with the calories and keeping the ones I take in to fruits and veggies.

Popcorn oil popped 3 cups 165 calories
Popcorn air popped 3 cups 92 calories.

You can air pop popcorn in the microwave by adding a quarter cup of unpopped popcorn in a lunch sized brown paper bag and rolling it over 3 times to close. Microwave for about 2 1/2 minutes--no oil.

Problem is salt doesn't stick to it well to air popped popcorn. You can reuse the paper bag over and over again, and sometimes it is convenient to cut off the top a bit so it fits better in the microwave.

Oh and I made it yesterday under 1400! I was kind of surprised I did too because the barley lentil pilaf I had with dinner was very filling. Thought it would have more calories than it did.

I am scared to finish yesterday's food tracking...I had a huge bowl of popocorn for my snack last night. Cardio was good though. I got back in the pool to swim laps, and I am happy with my speed and how I feel after swimming.
