Heidi, Take it easy and don't mess with the bronchitis. My son has it right now too. You would think that the summer would not be the time to get it, but our doc said there is a lot of it going around as well as strep throat. My dog has staph infection so it has not been a healthy week at our house. Fair starts tomorrow so I will be super busy most of the week with all the shows and other committments. Well better go for now. Becky

Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I don't seem to be getting much better yet, because although the cold and sore throat are going away, I have brochitis and my breathing isn't too good, so I have just been resting all day today. I certainly won't be near my goal of walking for July, but being the optimist that I am, there's always August!!

Heidi, The docs in CO think it will help and that the reflux is exacerbating the asthma. It was their recommendation that I see a GI doc. I hope they are right and that it helps me!!!! Becky

Hi Everyone,
I am having a nice day today with the family. We are taking out sushi/japanese for dinner, and I am starting to feel better, though I am not up to walking the treadmill just yet, but I did about 40 min. of swimming laps, and kicks, and felt good after that. I think the temp. reached about 90 today, but it was beautiful no humidity, and clear blue skies, I love the hot weather!
Barb- Maybe it's the heat that has you less hungry, and I think all the exercise you have been getting between walking and swimming is helping that too! :)
Becky- That's great that you will be able to get the reflux surg., did the dr.'s in CO say if it would help your asthma at all, or is it unrelated?
Debbie- I hope your doing ok! :)
Have a great weekend all!

Good Morning Ladies - I seem to be having a very lazy Saturday morning - I need to get my butt out the door and start my walk - but it is already hot out and I am dreading it. I will be going however - but I might wait until this evening - I am going to be out cleaning and vacuuming the pool and swimming today though - my eating seems to be changing on it own - I haven't been very hungry lately - I not sure if it is the heat or what.
Becky - I am glad to hear that you will be able to have the surgery to repair you problem and the added bounus of loosing weight attached to it.
Nancy - I know you will miss your daughter when she leaves, but it is also a good change and a very exciting time in both your lives. We will be here for you as you make the trasition.
Have a good day ladies

Hello Ladies, Well it sounds like I am a good candidate for the reflux repair surgery. The doc took biopsies of the esophagus and stomach and will call next week. At that time I will schedule a prelim appointment with the surgeon. My plans are to have the surgery either right before Thanksgiving or right before Christmas so I have the days off to recupe and not have to use sick leave. If nothing else I will lose weight as I will be on all liquids for awhile then soft foods, then regular foods. All of this goes back to the Denver trip. It was the reccommendation of the docs out there that I pursue this issue. I have no loss no gain to report and I did not count points as I was gone part of the week. Talk more later. Becky

Hi Everyone,
I had a total of 37 pts. this week, and I gained back 2 lbs., I am not upset about it because today is the worst day of Aunt Flo's visit, plus I ate too much last weekend, so I feel confident I will be back on track this week. I am feeling better today than the past few days, so I am getting better, I'm glad I went to the dr. yesterday for the antibiotic. Thank you all for the well wishes for my son too. His foot seems to be doing better, so I am letting him go to football camp which starts on Mon.
Barb- A big congrats. for losing 4 lbs. this week! You also did great with your walking too! It dosen't matter that it is weight you have gained recently, it makes you feel better to know that you had a big achievement this week!!
Nancy- It's going to be like starting a new life for you when Meghan goes to college soon. It's going to be exciting and sad at the same time. At least she is in driving distance. How many hours drive is her school away from you?
Becky- I hope everything goes well with your reflux test, and the county fair.
Nae- I can't believe you have to maintain until Sept., she should take the dress in closer to the wedding date. Although it is easier to maintain than lose.
Amy- thanks for joining us.
Martha- Congrats. on staying the same, at least you have not had a gain. Congrats. on getting all those points in.

Morning All,
Glad to see the board hoppin this morning.
Heidi..I hope your son is okay and I hope you feel better soon. I don't think there is anything worse then being sick in the summer.
Nancy..you know we will be here. Congrats on being in that magical place. I can't wait ti get there.
Well I had the appt. with the alterations lady yesterday and she had to take out 4 inches from my dress. I was amazed. She also said that I need to slow down a little on losing weight because she won't be able to fix it again just before the wedding. But I also can't gain anything. So I am in the world of maintaining until after the wedding. How do you do that?

Happy Friday! I am so glad it is the end of the week. I have 46 points for this week and the scale is the same as the last two weeks, no loss no gain. I walked 5 miles.
Heidi, welcome back! I am sorry to hear abot your son's foot, that sounds painful. I hope you start feeling better.
Becky, Good luck at the doctor, let us know how it goes.
Barb, great job on your loss and your walking. I am glad that the PT seems to be helping even though it is painful.
Nancy, hope water aerobics is fun. We will help you get through sending Meagan off to school :-)

Good Morning Ladies!
It's Friday!!!
Barb, congratulations on your 4 pound weight loss and for getting in your walking. Small changes lead to BIG results! Glad to hear your arm is doing better.
Heidi, So sorry to hear about your son's foot. I do hope he gets better. I ALWAYS walk inside and outside bare foot and I have stepped on a few things over the years, but NEVER a nail...OUCH!!! Glad to see you back on the thread, we all missed you!!!
Becky, you are always on the go even with all your problems...How in the world do you do it? PLEASE let us know what the doc says.
Off to water aerobics...Yesterday I weighed myself (the first time in a month) and surprisingly I am still 138. I spoke with Chad the trainer and he says I have probably reached that magical place where I can maintain my weight as long as I continue to exercise (6 days a week) regardless of some of the food choices I have been making the past month. I have 2 weeks 6 days (but who's counting, right?) before we take Meagan to Arkansas so I'm just trying to make it to that week and then it's off and running getting my act together, eating-wise. I'm counting on you ladies to carry me through...

Good Morning Everyone -
Heidi - glad to see you back - I hope your son's foot heals soon and you start feeling you old self again.
Becky - good luck at the Dr. and the fair
Nancy - congrats on you results - you continue to be my inspiration....
I had 9.7 miles this week of walking and I am giving myself a big YOOHOO for loosing 4 lbs this week - even though this is weight I have perviously lost and regained and I am no closer to my goal then before - I am happy to see the scale moving in the other directon. I had been on a steady gaining trend for the past 3 weeks.
I had PT yesterday and although I felt worse when I was done - I have noticed an improvement in my arm this morning...so I guess it is helping.

Hi all, Well I have been busy the last couple of days. We are getting ready for county fair next week and the last minute details for the food stands are tedious and almost overwhelming. My son has already said he does not want to be on that committee next year. WOO HOO YIPPIE. We have been on it for the last 5 years and I have been the adult leader in charge for the last 3. Well I go for my test tomorrow to see if I am a candidate for reflux repair surgery. I am hoping that I am so I can put that annoying problem behind me. I will let everyone know the outcome of the tests. I have not been to work out all week. Next week is not looking to promising with fair going on either so I am shooting for the week after fair and then I am going to make myself go at least 4 days a week to start. I am also going to set a walking goal for August. Do miles walked according to my pedometer count? I will be going back to work in a few weeks and I will be walking more then. Well better go for now talk to you all tomorrow. Becky

Hi Everyone,
I'm so sorry I have been MIA. We did go away for the weekend and got back late Sun. night. We had a great time, and saw relatives we haven't seen in awhile. I got in plenty of exercise away, but my eating bombed. Then Monday I had to take my son back to the doctor, because he had an abcess under the skin on the bottom of his foot, where he was impaled with a rusty nail 2 1/2 weeks ago. We thought it was healing nice, but it left a hard bump that was painful to him, so it had to be cut open to drain, and it has to heal again, bad place for an injury in the summer :( Then Tuesday morning I woke up with a cold and sore throat, had a fever yesterday, have a touch of brochitis now, went to the dr. today and they gave me an antibiotic, so I missed you all, but I was too sick and lazy to post the past few days. Now Aunt Flo came today, and I just feel like crawling under a rock! lol sorry to complain, but that's about all that's new here.
Jenn- Good luck with your yard sale.
Nancy- That's great how you did on that test, 15 yrs. younger wow! I won't be anywhere near 40 mi. for this mo. of walking. I walked 7 more mi. last weekend which brings my total now to 21....hmmm I need to walk 19 mi. between now and July 31 to meet my goal. :( Next month for August I will set a more realistic goal of 30 mi. for me.
Barb- I hope everything goes well at the neurosurgeon next week.
Have a good night all!
I missed all of you! Heidi

Afternoon All,
Well I got up and got moving this morning and now I am wishing I had stayed in bed. There are so many things that have landed on my plate from this morning and I am ready to scream.
The good news is I have an appt. with a seamstress who is pretty sure she can help me with my dress. My lady didn't want to touch it for fear of messing it up. So I got in contact with one who specializes in bridal dresses. Thank goodness.
So I am off...will check back with you guys later.

Afternoon All,
Sorry I was MIA yesterday. It has been a little crazy around here. I am trying to get my dress for the wedding fixed and it looks like it is going to be a BIG job. I am so nervous that it isn't going to look right.
Does anyone know where Heidi is? Haven't seen her post in a while. Not sure if I missed she was going on vacation or something.

Martha, I would like to have that.

Jenn, I'm glad you got some rain, every little bit helps.
For the weekly points/bootcamp challenge - I put some formulas in an excel spreadsheet to make it easier for me to track my points, I would be happy to email the spreadsheet to anyone who wants it, let me know.

Martha, We had a thunderstorm with small amounts of rain, but even a little is nice right now. The sky was the craziest shade of pink it was erie.
Nancy, How great is that? I am so proud of you for sticking to this journey so intently. Great job.
Becky, I hope that you can get the procedure if it will help you. Good job on the 2 miles. I know that you haven't been well so that is a big step after not being able to do anything.
I hope everybody has a great day.

Good morning, everyone. We had a huge thunderstorm with tons of rain last night, it was great. Also had a blind date which went much better than expected. Hope you are all doing well today.
Becky - when do you find out if you are a candidate for reflux repair surgery?
Nancy - Congratulations on the outstanding VO2Max test! Great job on improving it over the last months, yay!
Barb - When do you have to go back to physical therapy?
