This is what I want you to do.....break a sweat and work hard at your cardio today. - Done, Did 35 Minutes NYC Ballet Workout, danced to a 49 minute Shakira CD, 47 Minutes Kathy Smith Great Buns & Thighs Step Workout DONE

Back Extension - DONE

3. Choose only fruits or veggies (no dip) for your snacks today. Whew, that worked out, I had a bowl of cherries I used as my snack food today DONE

CHALLENGE FOR TUESDAY JULY 11: Results

1. How hard are you working at your cardio? Do you break a sweat? Do you get your heartrate up? (not overdoing it , though). Do you push yourself to go further, faster? This is what I want you to do.....break a sweat and work hard at your cardio today.

Done! 30 mins eliptical, 30 mins bike

2. Forward Lunges with Dumbells (don't have dumbells? - use books, full water bottles, rocks, soup cans).2 sets of 10 on each leg (proper form is extremely important for doing lunges so you don't hurt your knees) Done
Leg Raises - 3 sets of 10 on each leg Done
Back Extension - 2 sets of 12 reps Done

3. Choose only fruits or veggies (no dip) for your snacks today. Done (This one was REALLY HARD today!!! My kids made a cake and it smelled soooo YUMMY!!! I swear I think I heard it calling my name, but I didn't answer!!! lol)

4. Stay within your calorie range and drink a min. of 8 glasses of water. Done and Done

Bonus:
Didn't eat in front of the tv today. My youngest daughter had made this a goal for the week for herself, so I've been helping her and it made it easy for me as well.

Well here is how I did today
1.Cardio-I did it*
2.Exercises- DONE*
3.Snacks-Oh no I had a 100 grand for a snack.
4.Cal. and H2O-Got the water in but over on cal.
BONUS- I went on an athletic outing with my husband and two of our kids. We had to go and look at some houses so we power walked. About 45 min. It was nice got to do some visiting and some great quality time together.

I didn't do the best job today but I feel good and with my exercise I'm not too far above my cal. Good luck to all

CHALLENGE FOR WEDNESDAY JULY 12

1. Stay within your calorie range and drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water. DONE, For the first time in a long time I'm being consistent with this

2. Reverse Plank - hold for 30 seconds minimum.
Chest Press with dumbells - 3 sets of 8
Bicycle crunches - try for 100 (you can break it up into smaller reps)

3. Add a new goal to your list of goals. A goal that has something to do with working towards your new healthy lifestyle. DONE

4. Add some sprints to your cardio today. DONE...WHEW.....this helped me crave a bunch of water

I did pretty well today. stayed within my calorie limit (at the high end though ). I did well breakfast and lunch, then went out to a mexican place. I told myself only ONE taco this time alicia, just one. Of course I ended up eating two, and muching on god-only-knows how many tortilla chips.
I know I stuck to my limit, but I still feel way guilty!


and full!!

I don't get a stay today, because by the time I got home from eating too much food, there was no way I could get my strength training in!

tomorrow though......... I'll be good!

Hello all!!! I am here to check in and say I did get through all of todays challenges:
l. Did my cardio, and did I ever sweat on this one...It's 95 and very humid here, I think if you breathe, you'll break a sweat.LOL
2. Lunges, leg raises, and back extensions done.
3. Had all fruits and veggies for my snack, and even tried asparagus for the first time (not too bad.)
4. Stayed in calorie range and definately drank all my water... 18 so far...I think the well will be dry if this humidity keeps up.

Bonus: Rode bike with my daughter.

Hi everybody, Lili and Xiomi, I know what you are talking about. Feel beter today, did cardio, drank 12 glasses of water and was in calorie range. But two tired for all the exercises. Better luck tomorrow! Going to bed now.

Good night to all !!!!!

Well, just like Lili, had a "so so" day. Before going out of the office was all rain and thunderstorms. When arrived to the gym, couldn't go in, because the parking was all floded. Got 20 min on my DVD. that's all.
The strengh stuff I'm doing it right now.

Did all the exercises... that on top of what I do at work all day made my legs tired! Plus I danced for about four hours last night! I went to the best concert!

Anyway. My snackies today were carrots and then I had some strawberries. I always drink a lot of water... I think I drink more than 20 glasses in any given day.

Ooh... I was so excited... I forgot to wash my work shirts so I only had one of my smaller ones clean and my arms haven't fit into the sleeves forever and now it fits! It's a little snug, but workable. They didn't look like encased sausages.

CHALLENGE FOR TUESDAY JULY 11:

1. How hard are you working at your cardio?

30 minutes on treadmill..today I ran. I ran for the first time in a while...Prob. not the prettiest thing in the world but I did it. I ran for 2 minutes walked for 2 minutes. Ran for 3 walked for 3 ect. ect. I did this for 30 minutes. I sweat so hard my whole head was dripping...

2. Forward Lunges with Dumbells DONE...man these hurt!
Leg Raises - 3 sets of 10 on each leg DONE

Back Extension - 2 sets of 12 reps DONE..those look easy but they are NOT..

3. Choose only fruits or veggies (no dip) for your snacks today.
snack had grapes, another snack had soy beans (edamame sp?)

4. Stay within your calorie range and drink a min. of 8 glasses of water.

have had 12 so far...working for 14 today!

BONUS for today...haven't eaten if front of the TV and we are going for a walk tonight...yeah!

Went to get some plants with a friend and after the rain this afternoon we planted hers then we planted mine (Bee Balm)! Love plants...and gardening.

Good day to all.

So far, good day today, but LOT of work at the office. My boss called me (he's on vacation), to tell me he was having a great time in Russia. He'll be traveling all Europe until August. HOW MUCH I LOVE HIM (yeah right!!!). He left 3 weeks ago, so imagine my "happines". Anyways. Tonight going to the gym again, and tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.. you get it. My water consumption hasn't been that good. I'm starting right know, 20 onz at this time. Lunch, in a few minutes.

EVERYBODY here (including you) are a role model for me. Each of you, with your own stories, your own life, your own struggles, demonstrate me that I can do this. If you can, why can't I do this. Last month I started at the gym again, but stop going after 2 weeks because got boring and didn't have anything to challenge myself. Like in Kinder when you get the stars for every good work and you want to show your mom and dad how good you were. That's exactly how I feel about this. I want to demonstrate myself and every person who said "You're pretty but no", "You're too fat for this", "You can't play basketball because of your weight" that I truly can. I'm right on track thanks to ALL AND EACH OF YOU.
Believe me, I'll remember this site and the people I've met here for the rest of my life.

Just wanted to tell you what my husband said this morning. He needs to lose at least 50 pounds, at least. I've "gently" tried to help him. The other day he said he was disgusted with the way he looks. I said that I don't want to talk to him about weight loss because I don't want it to appear to be nagging.

But this morning when I pulled on my jeans easily without tugging he told me I was his inspiration and he is going to change his habits. That made me feel beautiful and fantastic. I love that man

Well - I didn't get any stars for July 10, but I did achieve one of my own personal goals. I went to my aunt's for a little get together and usually at those things I WAY overeat - to the point of feeling sick (you know, since I've been "good" all week)but I am really trying to not stuff myself and then have that feeling that others were talking about (since I blew it, I might as well have anything else I want).

And yesterday... I did eat too many calories, but I was NOT stuffed and did not come home afterward and have more!! So I am happy, even though I didn't meet the goals.

Today I have already gotten in an extra 30 min. walk and will still do an hour of cardio later and I have drank 32 oz. of water (and it's barely 9:30 am!).

I'll be posting later today for the challenges and I WILL get a star (or two!!)

Wow! Cardio done- sweat my butt off today, walked for an hour and went 5.5 miles...Farther than I usually go!!
Strength training done- did all of these and then some!
Never eat dip with my veggies, just like them plain!!
Having baby carrots and a peach for my snack today.
Stay within calorie range- done. Making SP recipe for dinner tonite. I had to add something in order to GET to my calorie range. Drank more than 8 glasses already today and it's only 11 am.

Hi everybody,

I was just catching up on reading your posts. Ginger, I can associate with the diabetic or alcholic. Mr. Ulcer doesn't allow me to eat certain foods (carbinated soda, caffine, chocolate, spices, anything made with tomatos, raw vegetables, citrus and fatty fried foods). MaKayla had some M & M's last night. I wanted just one, but I knew Mr. Ulcer would get upset. I drank water instead. So in a way I have an advantage. Pain is a good motivator to say no to certain foods. LOL I didn't eat a bag of M & M's. In another way, when a craving for a forbidden food hits, I can't just eat a little. I have a tendency to eat a little of all the foods I can have, trying to satisfy the craving. I end up eating a lot of calories and still not satisfied.

I'm hoping that the ulcer does heal, but before he does, I have my new healthy habits down pat and can say no to all forbidden foods. But it will be good to eat citrus, tomatos, raw vegetables, and spices. I have totally broke the habit of Pepsi and my craving for cigerettes only visits a couple of times a week. I have been smokefree for a month and 11.5 hours.

WTG Ginger in putting down the chips. I haven't had a regular potato chip in over a month. Mr. Ulcer doesn't like grease. Every now and then I eat the baked ones.

Ginger, I was reading your post and can SO relate to your story! Before beginning my workout routine in March and then signing up on this site, I, too, had begun to question myself about my weight. I was about to believe the "myth" that I was just destined to be fat. "I have bad genes." (I forget how fit and thin I once was!) My mom was an extremely overweight adult; therefore, it must just in the cards for me to never be thin again. Right? Finally, I listened to the truth that I knew all along. Any of us can change. We may have to work hard, eat right, and pray (lol) but we can ALL work on becoming a better, fitter, healthier person. I, too, was that person saying..."Well, I already blew it today, so I'll just go ahead and make the most of it! I'll eat whatever I want!" (Then, of course, I would beat myself up the next day for it!) I applaud you for putting those chips down today and saying NO, Ginger! AWESOME job!!! And, by the way, what are you doing up so early in the morning? lol I thought I was the only one around getting up at that hour!

Xiomi, I am SO proud of you! It's always exciting to lose pounds!!! YOU GO, GIRL!!! I'm excited for you!!! You'll be in that LBD (little black dress) in NO time!!!
