Well, this group is very challenging, but not right for me. Too many extra things for a daily migraine sufferer to do besides the fact that I haven't even gotten a hello and haven't seen my name up anywhere with a star...was I doing something wrong? (I don't even see my post today and it was up last night)...very discouraging when you are trying even the slightest bit. (Sorry Lisa)

I wish you all the best.

Hello everyone. The weekend was great. The wedding was really very nice and the reception great. I was designated driver so no worries on those extra drink calories...couldn't have them! The next morning we were off to Lake Michigan...pictures on my sparkpage. What a wonderful adventure. I wrote everything down that I ate...even the McDonalds apple pie, they had a great place to jog/walk next to the marina. Didn't catch any fish but had a good time. I'll post later with my Monday challenge.

Answer this question: What/Who inspires you and how?

Well, it's hard to pinpoint just one person who inspires me. I would have to say that my mom is my inspiration. She's no longer with me. I lost her three years ago in May. She passed away due to complications of type II diabetes. Although I aspire NOT to follow in her footsteps that way, she was such a role model to me in many, many ways. Her battle with that disease was a tough one the last five years or so of her life. The last few weeks of her life she was in immense pain; however, she NEVER complained. Instead, she still thought of others above her own suffering. She fixed food and took it to the dialysis center. She made calls and wrote e-mails to people who were in need of encouragement. She was MY number one fan and she always encouraged me to "go for it" and to "think outside the box". She always made me believe that there wasn't anything that I couldn't do. I miss her dearly.

My boyfriend of nearly three years inspires me as well. He encourages me and loves me--all phases of me. His birthday happens to be the same exact date that my mom passed away. When I found this out, I felt like God was letting me know that life, indeed, does go on.

Mikki...God can I understand the bra thing. I don't think I will ever be into a C unless I get a reduction which I am thinking about. No matter how much weight I lose, I haven't lost any in my boobs. They have just got more saggy. Like melons in tube socks...yuck.

Melissa, your post was so enlightning about your daughter. I think we take for granted how good we have it when we hear others stories...My hat is off to you. I will pray everynight for your beautiful daughter in hopes they will find NO more tumors ever again.

Have a great Monday,
Ginger

I will stay between my calorie range, been doing very good at that. I drink gallons of water a day, so got that. I always stay away from soda. But as for the exercises, i did crunches, but I can't do push ups, so I did wall push ups, and I got the dips done too. Even did the bicep curls using cans of soup. As for the bonus, stretching is a normal thing before I walk, so I got that.

What inspires me? Hmm. I would have to say the picture of the little black dress that I have taped everywhere. In the bathroom, above my computer monitor, on the fridge, IN the freezer (by the ice cream)...everywhere I look. It reminds me constantly of the goal I am trying to reach.

Hi Jules,

I thought I had read you say we could substitute exercises. I had to substitute today. My ulcer has been acting up. I couldn't do Bicycle crunches or crunches w/twist. I believe they put pressure on the ulcer. I substituted 40 reverse crunches and 40 dumbbell crunches. I hope this is ok.

CHALLENGE FOR MONDAY JULY 10

1. Stay within your calorie range and drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water. I WILL POST AND TELL YOU IF ACCOMPLISHED LATER.

2. Push-ups - Modified 3 sets of 13. DONE
Dips - chair 3 sets of 10. DONE
Alternating Bicep Curls - 3 sets of 10. DONE

Answer this question: What/Who inspires you and how?

I have a two part answer. My 5 year old daughter, MaKayla. She has a rare blood disease. She has had 5 surgeries and 6 months of chemo. I missed one of her cemo treatments, because I had to have emergency galbladder surgery. As of right now she is doing well. There is no cure for the disease and anything can cause tumors (cuts, bruises, or infections). She has test twice a year to make sure there is no new tumors. I guess I feel that no one can take care of her as well as I can. Right now if I leave the room without telling her she starts screaming. I want to be here for her. I want to be here when they find a cure for Histiocytosis, so we will not live in fear anymore.

I had no fear that I would always be here, until May 29th when I went to the emergency room with chest pains. Heart problems were eliminated but I was diagnosed with an ulcer. So health issues are my second inspiration. I always want to be available to take care of MaKayla and watch her grow up.

Sorry I wrote so much.

I hope everyone is having a great day.

I've been thinking about what inspires me all morning. I wanted to come up with something profound that would sound like real inspiration, but nothing. So here it is, what inspires me is a drawer full of beautiful bras.

About two years ago, I was in need of new bras, so I measured myself, and according to the website I was looking at, I needed a 36 C. You can't know how excited I was about that size. So I ordered a gaggle of the most beautiful bras they had. Wouldn't you know it, when they got here, I tried every single one of them on, and not one of them was anywhere close to fitting. So, for two years, I've been working at losing weight, just hoping that eventually I'd be at the right weight and they'd fit.

I'm hoping they'll fit by Thankgiving. That's my real goal.

3. Go outside, failed miserably!
4. Cardio....it was my only day off from exercise... so oh well! (In my defense, my husband is a preacher so sundays are busy, and different from most people's weekends! )

ANSWER THIS QUESTION:
What / Who inspires you and how?
---- guess you can say my mom inspires me, because I am not taking the road she took my taking care of her diabetes only and forgetting to take care of her porphyria and ended up freaking ill because of it - thus I an say ing to hell with the diabetes and taking care of the porphyria since its the one which can kill me a hell of a lot faster then the diabetes can, not to mention a hell of a lot more complcations go along with porph then the diabetes can give me.

Jules...believe it or not...I have written to the boys since before they were born. We tried so hard for them, 3 years for each with multiple miscarriages between each of them (total of 7 pregnancies, 2 children later, we decided to call it quits, too hard on the soul)

But I have written to each of the kids before they were even born, and still do. I plan to have it edited and binded for their wedding present. All the letters that I have written, feelings I have had and things they have done that has made me laugh, cry, scream....you name it. It is wonderful to go back and read some of the things...

ON to the challenge!

ANSWER THIS QUESTION:
What / Who inspires you and how?

I thought long and hard about this question...I first started relating it to weight loss people, but honestly, that is not who inspires me the most. My kids inspire me more than anything. I want to be able to show them the right way, the healthy way to do things. They are my rock, the ones who don't judge, who love me whole heartedly no matter what happens to me or what I look like, they love me. They are my inspiration for this journey. I want to be there for their weddings, their children's births, and for their grandchildrens births. My sons are my life...they are my inspiration every moment of every day!
