Hey Wise! Those are awesome goals! :) That's so nice that you're going to be able to run on trails while pet sitting. I would love to start running on trails and I really want to start biking on them. It's nice to get some fresh air and a great workout at the same time. I used to love jump roping and I tried it about a year and a half ago and it was SO much harder than it used to be! It felt like a good workout though. :-p Amanda

Okay weekend; a little on the cool side, and foggy. I am dogsitting/catsitting for my sister, which has me out of my usual local. Went for a long walk in the forest preserve by her house, mostly to scout it out and see if the paths would be okay/far enough for running (which they are). Because today kept looking like rain, I ended up not running (a little worries about lightning in the foresty areas). My exercise so far today (othe than walking the dog) was jump rope and shooting baskets (with a little bit of rather pathetic dribbling and running after ball). Hey, and I managed to make a bunch of my shots into the basket. Yeah, me.
I highly recommend jumproping for exercise! Remember when we were kids, this was so easy once you got the coodination part down (even for clutzy, always last picked on the team). Now, it's really tiring ( a good thing ... means I am challenging myself). I alternated between forward rope turning, backward rope turning, both feet, one foot at a time, etc. According to SP, 5 minutes burns 40 calories! Okay, I am a little skeptical about this estimate, but it was fun.
My challenges:
On-Plan: Yes/No Run: Yes/No (shooting for 3-4 yes/week) Walk: Yes/No (shooting for 2-3 yes/week) Jumprope/Jumping Jacks: Yes/No (shooting for one 5 min session/day 6 days/week) Weight Training: Yes/No (shooting for 3 days/week 64 ounces Water: Yes/No No Diet Pepsi until after water: Yes/No 7-9 Fruit/Veggies: Yes/No 3 Servings Dairy: Yes/No Yoga: Yes/No (shooting for 1-2 time/week) Had fun: Yes/No

Hello Challengers!! How has everyone's weekend been? Mine has been good. I got some walking in yesterday so that's good since I can tend to not want to workout on the weekend sometimes. :) MommaK, weather can be so crazy sometimes. Your weather sounds like Maryland; one week can be really nice out with 69 degree weather and the next can be almost 100 outside. :) Great job with the challenges everyone! :-) I will post later to tell you the name of the new challenge and what it will be about and stuff. You're doing awesome everyone! I'm so glad we all had this challenge together. :o) Amanda

Friday and Saturday are done. We went on a 5k walk yesterday and my 16 year old daughter couldn't keep up with me, she said I walked too fast! Yeah for 41 year old legs! She is a dancer and has taken a few weeks off of her workouts and it really shows in her endurance. Good thing she starts conditioning this week.
We have had a cold front move in, it was in the mid 90's on Friday and now it is in the low 70's. That's Nebraska for you! It will be back in the 90's by Wednesday.
Amanda, I am glad you are considering a medicine ball, I loved the workout with it. Bands are great too! I use them on my legs to strengthen my hips.

Answer: It's 69 degrees outside today! It's such a gorgeous day and there's a wonderful breeze and the sun is shining. I wish that the entire summer could be like this. I know the heat will probably really set in the last week in June or early July.
Good luck wonderful challengers! Have a fun Saturday! -Amanda

Bippers, I too LOVE cheese curls!! They're one of the best snacks in the world, lol. I get the Baked Cheetos sometimes but I shouldn't because they're SO hard to stop eating after one serving... MommaK, I am really considering going out and buying a 9 pound medicine ball now! :) I love using different types of exercise equipment. Stretchy bands are awesome. They're so good for toning the body, especially the arms.

Hello Awesome People!! I hope everybody is enjoying their Saturday so far! :) I guess we can just keep this thread for Saturday as well. Wise, haha that's funny about not eating Peanut Butter because of the way it looked.
I know, I was like that about certain things too. Tapioca was one of them. Mainly I didn't eat it because I liked to kid around with my brother that it was fish eyes. :) Anyway, I will go post the challenge for Saturday now. Amanda

I'll do the cardio tomorrow (its my cardio day off); the rest (except the multivitamin, which I don't do) is done.
Favorite snack, lately, is peanut butter. I found an organic one w.out PHOs. So tasty! Can you believe, once upon a time, I would not touch Peanut Butter because of how it looked???? After that, piece of fruit or peas (yeah, I'm weird!) or an oatmeal raisin cookie (which I get to justify because it has fiber in it :).
Have a great weekend!

The medicine ball she used was 9lbs. I didn't have time to get one yesterday, but we are going to get a 6lb and a 9lb. I love the stability ball! What are we calling the new challenge??? My favorite snack food would be Reece's Peanut Butter Puffs cereal. I love the stuff!

Good Morning Challengers!! I hope you're all enjoying your Friday so far. :-) MommaK, I've wanted a medicine ball for a long time! They sound like a lot of fun to use. :o) How heavy is the one that you bought? I have a stability ball, which is totally different from the medicine ball, and it's a lot of fun to use. A tape came with it and I also bought Leslie Sansone's You Can Do Stability Ball Exercises dvd which is pretty easy but still fun. :) Wise, great job on taking the water over the Diet Pepsi! I don't think I could've done it, lol. I'm like addicted to diet soda and I know it's a bad habit to drink so much every day... I should start buying flavored water because I find it so much easier to drink than just plain water. :) I'll post the stars and challenge now! Amanda
