hello to all. sorry i've been so busy here at work trying to finish things before deadlines approach. i weighed in yesterday and i was at 135.3. i don't think i gained or lost. if i recall correctly i was at that weight or at 136.3. i'm trying to figure out what i did wrong. as for exercising i did a lot of it. i was taking swimming & step/kickboxing class 4x a week for 8 weeks. my problem is that i was not good with giving up junk. throughout the challenge i was up and down a pound or 2 then back. i am hoping i can still lose weight. my goal is still to lose 10-15 pounds and i hope it's possible.

everyone did well! i was really thinking of creating a new challenge, but i might have to wait until i can really give it my all. work and everything else is draining me, which is keeping me away from logging in. I'll continue to check in on here if you guys do. I hope all is well for you guys. Take care!

well. I didn't do so hot. I entered this challenge at 170. And at the doctors today I was 167 - and since that was fully clothed, and after eating, I'm going to estimate it was 165. I'd gone down to 160, but now I'm back up...at least I'm not doing *too* bad. Um, yeah.
Well it was fun. If anyone decides to do another challenge, let me know by sparkmail!

Well my official weight is 179. I started the challenge at 181 and then went up to 184 - so I'm very happy to end at 179!

Well tomorrow's it. I have been stuck at the same weight since July 16, so I don't expect much. I just hope I haven't gained (Saturday was not a good day). but I would love to go for the next challenge! post on this thread what the next one is. I think I will also go for the Halloween Challenge. Good luck everyone! Persevere!

Hello! Well we have one more day until weight in. I did a weight in today and I am 179 - so I'm so happy about that!

Just popping in really quick to say that I'm not sure when I'll be able to post again...my laptop is now having troubles, so I sent it to have my dad check it out/get the part(s) it needs.
I'm using my Grandpa's computer, which is fairly slow, so needless to say I won't be online very often until my laptop is fixed. which is hopefully soon.


And I will try to get online after my Doctors appointment tomorrow to post my final weight for this challenge...!
Maybe we can do another one/challenge for Sept or something?

well only a couple more days to go on this challenge. I did good over the weekend. Looking forward to my final weight in on Wednesday. I know I did not come close to losing 15 lbs but I hope to be around 179 --- I'll let you know!

Today is kind of a break day for me. I'm going to keep in my calorie range (er, at least I hope I will!) but I'm not doing as much exercise. Just my strength training. Tomorrow I'm going to be doing a lot of exercise, walking to the beach, swimming, walking back from the beach, etc. No computer to distract me. Heh.
Also, it turns out I have a physical with the doctor on the last day of our challenge. So when I get weighed at the doctors...I'll compare that to the weight at home...and there we have it! I doubt I'll meet the goal (that would involve losing five this week), but I'm going to get as close as possible.

Talk to you all tomorrow morning. I think.

I had a really good calorie day - only burned 200 calories but still not too bad.

I had a big breakfast today - french toast and bacon. Way high on my salt intake already. So I'll try to eat a little better for the rest of the day.

Hope you have a good weekend. Don't worry about the cookies - you have to have a few every now and then!

Well, hopefully today worked out for you, then.
I didn't have very good luck, because I found some cookies in the freezer...thawed them out and ate like six of them before my sister stopped me. Plus I had a not-so healthy dinner (spaghetti-os). *sigh*. But I did a fair amount of exercise, so hopefully everything will still be alright.
I'll try to check in tomorrow!

Well the party did not go as I planned last night. The cake was yummy and I couldn't pass it up. I ended up with over 1700 calories in and only burned about 225. AHH!

Well Today is going to be a great day - I can just feel it. The weather is a little cooler than it had been. I'm going to get lots of exercise in!

oh my gosh...good luck with all those parties, I don't know if I'd be able to handle myself...although I'm not a huge cake fan. Usually it's the ice cream I have trouble with!
I weighed in today at 160, but I got a new scale, and I'm going to weigh myself on it tomorrow and see what that says. :-P

Hello! Well I seem to be back on track. I was just under 1200 calories for the day and burned 300 calories. It was too hot to eat and too hot to exercise but I took a 2 mile walk last night. The dogs didn't go with me but it was nice.

I'm going to wait until Friday to weight myself and I'll let you know how I make out. Today is my Aunt's birthday, Friday is my friends birthday and Monday is my birthday - so I see lots of birthday cakes in my future - ahhhh!

if you start a new thread for that, let me know too! I know I don't come on here as often, but I keep forgetting about this thread. But if you make a new one I will try to be better about it, I promise.

I think I've been doing really well in regards to the exercise. I've been doing stuff on the stationary bike, to change up my workout, since before all I really did was walking. And that gets boring. And I heard that changing the type of cardio you are doing is good for getting out of a plateau.

I am 6 pounds under the goal for 15 pounds by the ninth (well, that's before weighing myself tomorrow...so maybe I can still do it?). I'm gonna have to lose 3 pounds this week (tomorrow) and then another 3 pounds by the 9th. I doubt I can manage, but hopefully I can get fairly close.

I'm sorry to hear that you Gained, Debbie, but it sounds like you're doing alright, so hopefully next weigh in you'll have better results, right?

Monday I stayed under my calories and burned about 180 calories exercising. I did my bike at lunch and then an hour of dog training (with a crazy hyper dog - they heat really go to her). So Monday was a great day. Today I am hoping to do just as well. I got on the scale and actually gained 3 lbs - ahhh. Time to get back on track. Let me know if you start a new thread!

the weekends are always tough. we barbequed yesterday and i had a couple of drinks the other day, so that didn't help much. i'm also stuck at my weight. i will push for another month for september 9th to lose some weight. care to join? i'm doing well today. i tried eating every few hours. i don't have a snack to snack on right now though, so hopefully i don't eat too much for dinner. i didn't get to walk during lunch today and i missed my swimming class. i will go to step class tonight though. hopefully i won't be too tired after that so that i can go for a walk or jog too. hope you all have a good evening. bye for now.

I had a bad bad weekend. But today is Monday and I'm back on track. I have not lost any weight since we started the challenge so i definatelly will not meet it - Hope to be 179 by the end of the challenge so that' something to push for.

Hi - My weight has remained around the same, I think, since two weeks ago. I am 7 lbs. from the August 9th goal, so the maximum 2 lb/week weight loss would not get me to make the goal. Anyways, I will try to lose 2 lbs at least by then. I think I have been under on calories - around 1100 average per day this week, so maybe I'm stalling. I kind of have a plateau. I guess I'll try to do 1300 a day and intensify my workouts - I do 30-50 min./day usually, but I don't feel a burn/not hard enough I guess. Good luck everyone! Keep up the good work!

debbie that's a good breakfast combo. i need to load up on healthy snacks. i'm getting better with my fruit intake and at home we have fudgebars and popsicles for when i have a sweet tooth. i need to have the discipline once again to control what i eat and have better choices. i didn't realize how hard it would be to get back on track. i am going grocery either today or tomorrow so i am definately starting my diet. wish me luck!

Well I did no exercise on Thursday. I went out last night to a play and it was very good - spent a lot of time laughing. Today I'm going to try to do 60 minutes of exercise. I have to do 20 minutes on the bike and then I'm not sure what I'm doing. Instead of 10 minutes walking the dogs I'm going to try to go a little longer. Then I will do some exercise around the house --- wish me luck!

I have lost 23 lbs since the beginning of the year only 7 lbs since I started sparks. For the longest time I could not see or feel the weight I lost even though people around me said they could. And then finally one day I put a pair of pants on that were always a little snug and I had to keep pulling them up - it was great. So it will happen just be patient.

I am not losing the 15 lbs by the 9th. I think I only lost 1 lbs since the challenge. I'm 181 now and if I can get to 179 by the 9th I will be thrilled. Then I will start a new challenge.

My normal day consistes of a breakfast bar, milk and banana for breakfast, a quick grab lunch like a salad, lean cusine meal (high in salt) or this week I am eating bologna and cheese sandwich for lunch (190 calories), then I have a fruit cup and/or a rice cake for snack. For dinner I try to eat either a meal prepared from sparks or weight watchers - if not I just make sure the calories are under 300 or 400 for the whole meal. I use the meal tracker on here to count the calories for me. I usually end up under 1350 for the day.

I also try to spread out my meals. Like breakfast i will have the milk at 7:30 right before I leave the house, banana at 9 AM, breakfast bar 10 or 10:30 then lunch at 12 - snack at 1:30 or 2 then dinner at 5:30. It seems to help spreading it out because I get the munchies especially after lunch.

I don't know if I'm going to have lost 15 by the ninth. Because that would mean losing six pounds in a week or so and I don't think I can manage that. However, I will settle for however far I can get!

As for diet...I'm not doing a meal plan. Mostly what I do is before meal time rolls around, I think of what I want to eat, and enter it in the planner to find out how many calories it is. If it's too much, I try to find something else that's better. I allow myself about 300 calories or so per meal (including snack). That's 1200 calories total, so I can go over a little in each meal and still be safe.

Oh, and I know what you mean about not losing a lot of weight. I mean, I feel like I'm stuck, though technically I've lost 2 pounds this week. And even though I've lost almost 20 pounds since I started, I don't *feel* any different, physically. When I look in the mirror I see the same thing that I saw before...

hello to all! sorry i haven't been logging in for a while. i did not leave the challenge. i am a bit bothered though because i'm still stuck at the same weight! i'm back to 136.4 again! i've been wanting to go on a strict diet and trying the scarsdale diet, but something always comes up. the past few weekends have been really busy for me, then i was sick and i'm still on an emotional roller coaster due to my significant other. it's tough, but i'm hanging in there! i'm really glad that i haven't really gained weight, especially since i've been eating the way i do. i really need to change my diet though so that way i can lose a few pound by august 9th. i won't meet my goal of losing 15 by the 9th, but i will definately try to lose something by then. i'll give myself an extension, but my goal is still to lose 15 pounds, maybe by the first week of september.

u guys are doing really well! keep it up! as for your diet, are you guys following a meal plan? please share! ok hope u all have a lovely day!

Hope everyone had a good Wed. Mine was good calorie wise but I was a little low on exercise - only did 20 minutes on the bike. Today will be pretty much the same. I was going to get up early and take a walk but that didn't happen. I'm going out after work so all I will get in today is the bike at lunch. I'll have to double and triple up over the next three days.

Good for you! I have been doing pretty good also. I ended at 1336 calories and 520 calories burned for Tuesday. Today is going to be tougher because I have to go to the vets after work so it messes up my night but hopefully I can get some exercise in after I get home.

Wow. Seems like not a lot of people are still on this board. Did everyone just leave the challenge or are they not online as much anymore?
*shrug*.
I've been doing fairly well since I last posted...it's so hot that I don't want to do any exercise, but I make myself do it anyway, and I feel much better afterwards!

I was at a stand still but then I lost 1 lb. I was so happy. Well I do not think I lost anything over the weekend. I burn alot of calories on the weekend because I am cleaning up the yard, painting and doing lots of house cleaning, but yet the lbs are not falling off like I wish they would. I do not overeat on the weekends like I used to - this weekend I was well within my calorie range. I'm getting discouraged but I will not give up.

I am going to work out on the bike at lunch. Just had a bologna and cheese sandwich for lunch. I am so sick of eating salad for lunch so I am trying somehting new this week. See how I make out.

In order to step up my weight loss, since it's been kinda stagnant for a week or two (at least), I've upped my weekly calories to 3,500 to burn. Supposedly 3500 calories = 1 pound. So maybe that will help. In order to do that, I'm attempting to burn 500 cals each day (which can be done by just an hour-long bike ride!)

I know the weekends are the hardest for me. So lets all be very good this weekend. Eat within your range and go out and exercise - we will be sure to lose those extra pounds by the 9th!

I am doing very well calorie wise and exercise wise this week. Not sure if the scale has moved in my favor but I feel good.

er. so we weigh in on Wednesday or Thursday? I can't remember. Either way, I didn't gain OR lose this week. Hopefully it's because of my period, so I'm a little bloated.
If I want to meet this challenge, I've got 7 pounds left to lose...so I hope I can make it!
And the funny thing is, I've got a physical planned for the 11th of August... eep!
