I have a new challenge my husband came up with, that I'd like to share here.
Stop being a slave to your scale! If you're like me, you weight yourself every morning (and maybe even more than once per day). You get so attached to that number, it can either help you justify eating poorly due to a big loss (sabotaging), or make you feel really depressed if it isn't moving as quickly as you hoped.
My husband took our scale away and at first I thought it would be awful, but it feels so good! I'm free of that stupid number I associate myself with, and I'm free to just focus on my accomplishments I know I can control. If I keep those things up, the weight will come off anyway whether I constantly monitor it or not.
I say stop worry about that 3 digit number and focus on getting yourself to the gym (once you're there, you know you'll work out) and tracking your eating and keeping it healthy.
Basically, this challenge is to not weight yourself AT ALL until the end of 2006 and see how far you've come! That means not looking at the scale even at the doctors office (I ask them not to tell me, just write it down).
