Ok I set up the Group Forum. I didn't see on there anywhere to invite people so here is the name:

Summer Meltdown Challenges

If you have any trouble finding it let me know.

I'm not sure what the difference is but I can probably do that. I'll try to set it up tonight and invite everyone to join.

McZetty, you lucky - Aruba. I'm sure you gonna enjoy it.

Just a suggestion - what about if we start a group at Sparkpage group forum? If we're going to have more challenges, we won't have to open new thread for every one.

I had an awesome run yesterday. Did 3.5 miles in one shot (which I've never done before)! Very excited.

Lydia- doing a triathalon would be such a huge accomplishment!! You should definitely go for it.

I'm going on my honeymoon, but I guess that counts as a vacation. We're going to Aruba. I can't wait. I've never been before, but everyone that has tells me it's beautiful. I just can't wait to see some sunshine. We've had a summer like you Metka- nothing but rain! (Raining again today).

Shiela- why don't you start the new the thread and just let us know what it's called. Sunday will be the first day?

The weather is so weird - it should be almost summer here, but it's constantly raining and so cold. Where is the sun? Days are so much lighter and possitive with warm sun ...

Lydia, that's so great, you will be able to make true one of your wishes. It's so motivating when one can think how many things health and normal weight enables to do or participate at. I would like to go to swimming pool, but I'm so ashamed of my physical appearence - so, no way. This is really what I'm looking at. As of physical condition - I have a lot - many times I realize that even more than normal weight people (for instance when we walk).

And thanks for suggestion about exercise - I'll defenitely use it.

Are all of you planning vacations? If yes, where are you going? After my exams I will go just to my parents house (on the other side of Slovenia, which is called Karst - Kras in Slovene). I like it there very much, because the sea and some hills are so near, beautiful lanscape ... I'm really looking forward.

for a number of years now i:ve been wanting to be healthy enough to do a triathlon, not too much running though as i hate that, but i love swimming and cycling. maybe all i need is a decent pair of real running shoes? will look into that when i get home.

well i:m getting healthy enough to start seriously considering doing it so i:m gonna look into london and nottingham area triathlons for sometime within about 4 or 5 months of my return to the uk.

me, a triathlon! that would be so cool :)

ooh swimming! i havent been in awhile, i do miss it!

last night went well, i was well within my nutrition ranges and my calories were stable, so i seem to have nipped the "return to reality night-time bingeing" thing in the bud.

today has been a little dissappointing so far, it was raining in the morning so i had to take the train, now it:s gorgeous so i:ll feel really annoyed about missing out on a cycle home in really gorgeous weather, but i have plans to have a big workout at the gym and then go for an evening of dancing.

also today the kids have "ball sports day" which teachers help out with but don:t participate in, so i could potentially watch all these kids playing basketball and football etc and get frustrated that i:m not being active myself, but instead i chose to sort out flights and visas for my trip this morning so i think that's a "score" for me on the not getting stressed side.

the weekend looks to be shaping up, i:ve been invitied to a teachers house for dinner which could be dangerous on the food tracker side, but as its the weekend i:ll be able to control my daytime eating more easily and get in some more cardio than usual to balance it out.

5lbs lighter by 7/1 sounds like a perfect name to me shiela!

metka, i know what you mean about finding time to exercise when you:re studying, i:m so glad not to have that problem anymore, but it helped me during the exam time to call my workouts "stress relief time" so i didn:t feel so guilty about not studying, instead i used my workouts at part of my study (to help me concentrate).

another thing i found helped was to break down my usual workout into 15 (or thereabouts) minutes chunks, and i did them when i took a break from studying anyway. so i would study for an hour then rest my brain for about 15-30 minutes, and every 2nd or 3rd rest period i would do a mini work-out. this kind of pacing out the study also helped me concentrate more because i knew i had little chunks! and i got exercise that otherwise would have been so easy to put of till after the exams :)

Good for you Lydia. A holiday at the end of this road would be very nice.

I had a good day today. I ate well and when I got home I put in a hour at the pool. I'd like to say I was swimming the entire time but I was doing something the whole time I was in the water. Then we took the dog for a mile walk.

Good day, everyone!

Who says the thread title has to be creative?! I like those names just fine - at least we'll know where to find us!

Where are you finding your cute little ticker tapes? I want one, too! (Boy, I sound just like my kids!!!)

I'm off to work out - have fun, everyone!

Lydia, I'm glad too. But this week haven't execised at all and the weight loss stopped again - but the most important is to know why it stopped. I will have to find some time to exercise (not just studying) - if I have the time for surfing the net (very important), it won't be hard to find time for exercise. I already miss my tae bo workouts.

Good morning ladies. I had a rough night last night. I could not get motivated, it was almost like someone had sucked all the energy out of my body. I did take the dog for a walk but that was the extent of the exercising.

I would gladly start the new thread, but I can't really come up with an exciting name either. The one I have is "5lbs lighter by 7/1". Let me know your ideas then I will get it started.

metka, glad to see you're coming off the plateau!

who suggested the challenge would be 5lbs by july 1st? i think that person should have the honour of starting a new thread... :)

Although not creative- it gets the point across!!

I work all day Saturday and won't be able to get to the gym (which is where the scale is) so I will have to do my "final" weigh in tomorrow instead. I'll be sure to post it tomorrow night though to let everyone know how we did!!

And I will look for the new post on Sunday. I think we definitely need to have one designated person start it, so that we're not all starting one.

I'm already excited to start the next challenge!

have decided that as part of my cardio i will go clubbing at least once every weekend and get some dancing in at home as well, at least 15 minutes 3 times a week. that should give an extra push to help lose the tokyo gain!

anyway. i might stop posting now. time differences suck, i always end up having to read and post everything in big blocks!

thanks for the welcome backs and the encouragement! even with last nights huge misdemeanor i:m back on track today and determined to keep it that way. when i went to uni and was overwhelmed with independence at the beginning my mother told me "the beginnings are always hard" and it holds true for everything. the first day back to reality is always hard but WHEN i successfully (i.e. not binge it) today then tomorrow will be easier till i:m back in the routine!

yay.

i thought last night i:d be great, get right back into it and bounce right in, then i spotted the fudge in my fridge - late night 900 calorie splurge! oops. i figured i was still in holiday mode. this is something i now know i need to work on!

today. today and now on will be great.

Lydia, maybe now that you had a few days off it will be even easier to lose weight. That certainly helped me. Last week I ate a lot more and on Saturday I had 231, but today I'm again on the weight from last Tuesday. Hope the trend will continue.

I'm in for the challenge. I really like to be in your company. And together we can achieve much more.

Wildlilpony, it doesn't matter how much, the most important is that is going down. Great job!

WTG Wild! 1 lb gone is awesome! You are one one lb closer to your goal. On the WW site, it has a chart of things that equal pounds lost - one pound lost is equal to 4 sticks of butter! So there you go!

Welcome back Lydia. Good job on getting to the gym and the extra walking.

Hey everyone!

Blue - glad you are back! Isn't it crazy how the scale works? I still can't figure out how one day of overdoing it makes me gain 5 lbs and then it takes me a week to get rid of it! At least you made it to the gym twice - you have that to be proud of! I think it's totally normal to stray off course when you are away. I've had to make it my goal to just maintain my weight when I am away. Trying to lose at my MIL's is ridiculous and impossible!

So are we having one last official weigh in on Saturday then? And what is our new thread going to be called?

I'm off for diaper duty - I'm so glad I only have one left in diapers. Even though I miss my kids being babies, I can't wait for this stage to be over!!!!!

Have a good day, all!

Don't feel too bad Lydia- it's always harder to be healthy when you're not at home. I'm sure you'll have no trouble getting back on track quickly.
