Hi Holly, Welcome! I have put you on team #2, so that is where you will meet your teammates and report your points. You will probubly be down a size or two by the time of your trip if you stick with this so hurray for that! I am so amazed at how much more alive and happy I feel when I am doing right with my diet and exercise.

Thanks!! I am so glad i am in! I am going on a trip cross country the end of February and i want to be able to enjoy it. I think if i am heading in a positive direction with my weight i wont be so yucky feeling when we go out at night, the girl i am going with is a size 4 and i am a 18! Luckily she is awsome and is the most supportive person i have, she used to binge and has worked hard to get where she is so she understands! Thank you again, i will start today with my points! I am going to the gym tonight for about 1 1/2 hrs so there is 3 right there!!!!! Yeah, here is to the new year and my new life!!!!

Hi Holly, Yep, you're in! Here's the challenge rules and the template to keep track of your points. It's a good idea to print out the rules for quick reference while you learn the ropes. I'll figure out which team you are on tomorrow after Aneokli decides which team she wants to be on. Good luck and welcome:
We give ourselves points each day for the things listed below. We check in as often as we can with our progress and list our totals for each category and give each other support along the way. On Sundays we total each category and list our total points for each category and a final week total, and any weight loss. (hopefully) Here are the guidelines:
1. 1 point each day for staying on your food plan. (Your food plan is completely up to you)
2. 1 point each day for eating 4 fruits/veggies a day.
3. 1 point each day for drinking 64 oz of water. (if you drink coffee you have to add 8 oz of water for every cup of coffee in order to get the point.)
4. 1 point each day for keeping a journal of everything you eat.
5. 1 point each day for eating no junk food (candy, pop, chips)
6. 1 point for taking a daily vitamin.
7. 1 point each day for EVERY 30 minutes of exercising. This can include heavy housework, mowing lawn, shoveling snow (bad word) or any activity that you consider gave you a workout. Example: ½ hour exercise – 1 point; 1-hour exercise – 2 points; 1 ½ hours exercise – 3 points. (15 minutes of exercising earns you 1/2 a point)
8. Weight yourself once a week (Sunday) Weight loss - 2 points Stay the same - no gain - 1 point Weight gain - 0 points
8a. If you want to measure yourself in addition to or instead of weighing yourself, you can get the points for decreased size: decreased size - 2 points stay the same - 1 point size gain - 0
I think if somebody has the motivation to weigh in and take measurements then they should be able to get points for both weight loss and size loss.
The challenge will start January 2, 2005 and run thru February 27, 2005. That's eight weeks. At the end of the challenge we will add up the grand totals of points per person and grand totals of weight loss. Congratulate each other and then decide whether to do it again.

Hi! So i took this to be a sign that i should do this. You are looking for another person it sounds like, am i correct? If you are let me know and i will join. I have been with sparks for a month now but am having a hard time staying on track with the eating part, which you know is like the whole thing!!!! So let me know and i am in, not really sure what i need to do but i am sure i can figure it out!!!!!!!

Hello everyone, Lynne, You have done a great job and the challenge is fine. It will just take a few days for everyone to get the hang of it. I don't mind you popping in to our Team 2 thread at all, come over any time!!
I am back after a few days of bad allergies, what they call cedar fever here in Texas, even though there aren't any cedar trees in sight!!
For my team, I am catching up with getting the totals so far. I made a cool excel spreadsheet, and I am plugging in the numbers now!

The question was asked of how to get the template for the points. What you do is go to the template and highlight it by holding down the left click on the mouse scrolling over it till its all blue. Then go to Edit and click Copy. Then you open a new reply box and go to Edit and click Paste. The template will copy to the new message. I will put the template here so you won't have to look for it.

Well hello! I am going to do this challenge, I think...don't see why not, but I'm gonna read it again first:) I just had to laugh out loud when I read the following from SKINNYLYNNIE on the starting of this post: "I am in dire need of losing at least this first 16 pounds because when I lost it last time I got rid of all my biggest size clothes...so now I am running around in an old pair of blue jeans with a whole in the rear...lol. The only pair that fits me right now. What a crisis!" I just cracked up because I am down to two pairs that I suppose one could say fit, however I wince at washing them because I have to do stretches in them just to get 'em to loosen up after the dryer shrinks em back up (haha)...I had sold my clothes on eBay last time I lost weight and am regretting it!! Anyhow, it's nice to meet you and I will be joining in this or another challenge soon!

Dear Debbie and everybody, That's great you are getting ready to go. Half of it is thinking ahead so we have the means to meet our goal.
I've been thinking this message board can still be here for everybody who is in the challenge to share what we are thinking about etc. The new message boards can be there to report your points and chat with teammates.

Hi Deb (Lolasmom), You can keep your eyes closed while you stand on that scale for as long as you want as long as you open your eyes before you step off...lol.
Facing our fears is the first step to success. You can do it, we have faith in you. My big hurdle was taking my measurements and it was a real reality check when I found I had gained 5 inches around my hips...ouch!
Speaking of measurements...remember you get extra pounts for losing size too, so to get those points you have to take your measurements Sunday on the start day so you will have something to compare it to the next Sunday. So get that clothe measuring tape and go at it.
