well...Friday night was a smidge rough. *blush* I broke my soda streak - I had to drive 45 mins. to pick up my nephew with my neice and my 21 mo. old daughter in the car - then turn right around and drive back 45 mins. All this in a rain storm on windy mountain roads. Talk about stress!
We stopped to eat on the way back and my first drink fill up was an Arnold Palmer (good!) - but then I re-filled the cup 3/4ths of the way up with diet coke. I haven't had any since then, and I was proud of myself for not completely giving in to the craving and didn't fill it to the top! oh well.
I also didn't exercise sat. or sun. because I had my neice & nephew all weekend. But I got back on the horse this morning and ran on the treadmill for 37 mins.!
I drank water though! 8 cups a day.

Hi all~
I was out of town yesterday, so I'm sorry I missed you guys! Sounds like we've picked some good challenges for ourselves - some that are really a challenge. I did eat in front of the TV tonight...my hubby and I watched a movie while eating dinner... SO...I'm back to square one. Longest Streak: 4 days Current Streak: Starting over as I type...
Some fun news~ I went to see my parents Friday and they have this high-tech scale (it supposedly measures your body fat in addition to weight...like I really want to know that!!). Anyway, I weighed at Christmas and was the highest I have ever been and then I weighed this weekend and was down 16 pounds from that!! I was so excited! I'm looking forward to really getting more serious about my Spark plan and see how well I can do!

blessings and good night~ suzi

Yesterday I did, in fact, finish 8+ glasses of water... and did the 60 min cardio.
Today... well... no cardio, and 5 c water.
Longest streak is still: 1 (but now I've done it twice) Current streak is again: 0

I'd love to join!
My goals are: * At least 30 min of cardio every day * At least 8 cups of water every day
I'll work on those two for now... I have yet to be able to do both of those for 2 days in a row, so I'm hoping this challenge will help!

Well, at least I know I'm 'challenging' myself with this challenge. I didn't get the 8 glasses water OR the 15 min cardio yesterday.
But, I'm not giving up yet... so far today I HAVE done cardio (60 min) and am up to 4 glasses water. Good start, as it's still morning.
Longest streak: 1 Current streak: 0 (but out to change that!)

Did get all 8 c water yesterday! Am only 3 c into today's so far... behind schedule again.
I did a lot of cardio yesterday - 45 min am + 30 min pm. Today... none yet. Got to get those 15 min in.
Streak: 1 day

Way to go! I made it through another day of meeting my fast break goals yesterday, too... - No TV while eating (I'm really learning to think about what I'm eating and savor every bite) - Journal entry - At least 10 minutes of cardio (I did 30 minutes yesterday!)
The real test will be tonight and tomorrow. I'm going to see my parents (spending one night and back home Friday evening), so we'll see how it goes! If you're praying people, please say a prayer for me!

Yesterday:
-36 mins cardio -10 cups water -One more day, no soda!
Today, so far:
-36 mins. cardio -2 cups water -no soda!
|
|
|
|
I'll step up to this challenge with my goals:
- at least 30 mins cardio daily - no soda! - 9 cups water daily
I broke my cardio streak yesterday - I'd been exercising every morning, but we were set to go to the gym last night so I skipped the a.m. workout. Later, I called to confirm that my mom would watch our daughter but she'd forgotten about the arrangement and made plans! oops!
I'm on day 9 of no soda! Whew! I'll work on doing it for another 10 days for this challenge. :)

Yesterday I did cardio but did not drink the 8 c water. I joined the streak in the evening, after not drinking through the day, so pushing that much would have kept me up all night. ;)
Am 4 c into my water today (slow start but determined to do it!)
And did my cardio today.

Great to have a little company, Nancy!
How'd you do yesterday? I was right on task - so I have successfully begun my streak! One day down, nine to go! And today is so far, so good!!

Sure, I'll streak with you :)
1. Drink 8 c water daily! (was keeping up on this a long while but have gotten away from it)
2. At least 15 min cardio daily! (the 'flylady' -flylady.net - mantra: "you can do anything for 15 minutes")
I'll just go with those two for now.

Ok. I'm starting a brand new challenge. I liked the article I read on this site about starting a streak. This sort of thing really helps me stay on track because I really like to accomplish short term goals. Here were the suggestions in the article: * Set a goal for your streak. A specific number is more clear and often more motivating than leaving it open-ended. * If you break your streak, don’t get discouraged. Just try to outdo yourself next time. Streaks aren’t about perfection. They’re about doing better. * Remember to reward yourself along the way as you reach streak milestones, and especially when you reach your goal or personal best streak. * Streak in public. Just by telling others what your streak is, you create some positive peer pressure to follow through. Plus it gives others the opportunity to help. * Start off with something you know you can succeed with, but don’t already do regularly. Think of a small habit you’d like to make or break.
So, for me, I'll begin with my Fast Break goals: 1. Don't eat in front of the TV 2. Get 10 minutes of cardio exercise daily 3. Write in a journal daily
My specific goal is to accomplish all three of the above items for 10 days in a row.
Anybody want to join me?
