I'M BAAACK
Ok, so I was gone for a long while, while they were testing my heart, I pretty much gave up on everything to do with exercise. I did my first 1 mile walk in over 2 months this morning though!!!! It took me a little longer than it used to, but I did it. I'm worn out right now, so I'll have to take a nap before this afternoon appointments and baseball game, but hey, that's ok, I did it!!!!

HI everyone!!!!! Welcome back Naan, I haven't been here either lately..... Hope Dad is doing well!!!!

I have been highly busy lately helping with my neighbors new baby, and her older kids. On top of that, I found out last week that there MIGHT be a problem with my heart. I started back on exercise today, with my friend of course, and am back on track for eating....... was rough there for a little while.
How is everyone doing??? How was weigh ins???

Hello all - it has been a bit since I have been here. Dad had open heart surgery last week but he is doing fine so I thought I would stop by here. It was very hard to try to even think about my new habits but I did keep some of them and managed to lose 2 pounds. I am sure it was nervous energy that did it. It feels good to be back though.

Sounds like you all are doing great!

Thanks Stephanie for your words of encouragement. I think whats happening to me is I'm building muscle.

What I'm starting to do now is use a video in the morning, "Walk Away the Pounds", (1 mile version on weekdays and 2 mile version on weekends). If time permits, Ab Lounge, and maybe jump roping. I take the stairs twice a day at work. Go to the gym on my lunch hour. Use the "Biggest Loser" video at night. Drinking more than 8 glases of water a day and staying in my calorie range.

I did notice about 4 pounds this week. Hopefully the weight continues to fall.

Lapeta, welcome to our world of getting rid of the scale. Things that I have discovered, and learned since joining SP (and I haven't been here very long either). Keeping your calories in the same range everyday will actually help you to maintain and loose the weight easier. Getting enough sleep is also essential. Remember not to get discouraged and just give up. Sometimes it does take time to start to see a weight loss, but, sticking with a daily food intake and exercise plan does have benefits that are even better than the initial loss. One thing we have discussed here is jeans...... every couple of weeks, go try on a new pair of jeans and see if they fit better. That is what I do when I don't see a change with the scale. It's almost guaranteed that my jeans will fit better...........
Good Luck with the scale. It's a devil. Try for only once a week, or once a month. Imagine how excited you'll be when you see a big change!!!!

Hello everyone. I need to throw my scale out a window and run it over. It's been really mean to me. I've been using this S.P. since the 17th of this month, but I had been eating right all last week. I've stayed below my recommend amount of calories, and I've almost tripled the recommended amount of calories I need to burn. I've been going to the gym and working out for about two weeks. I still haven't lost a pound, seems like I've gained a few pounds. Can anyone help me out.

Thanks

Wonderful weekend, and some beautiful weather. I definitely scraped the scale.....I weighed when I came onboard, but I told myself if I stayed within my caloric intake each day I would not weigh for 1 month. Hopefully it will be a pleasant surprize.

TGIF Ladies!!!!! I myself can't wait for Monday..... sorry Naan, the kids go back to school!!! YEAH!!!!

How did weigh in go Ladies??? I haven't behaved myself that much this week, but, I've been helping my neighbor with her kids, and the new baby. She's terribly sore (tore, plus she can't breast feed, so her breasts are very very tender) so I've been taking the baby so she can get a shower and nap in. I love it, and I walk the floors with the baby so I'm getting my exercise in too. We had one semi warm day this week, so all afternoon I rode bikes with the kids. It was so much fun!

Hope the weekend is wonderful for everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!! No scales till next Friday, hide them now!!!!
Love always,
Stephanie

I am really laughing now! I just got home from Olive Garden........I ordered so carefully and ate only what I should. Then..........after the doggie bags, my daughter ordered the lemon cream cake. Yikes.....I was feeling so guilty. I read your post Misty and cracked up laughing. Today must be the sweet tooth day!

That is wonderful MC, good job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found and indulged in the dieters mortal sin today. Betty Crocker, shame on you for making such wonderful things that involve chocolate and fudge!!!!
I've been craving chocolate for days now, so I gave in and bought 2 of those warm delights bowls, and was gonna split them 3 ways so myself and each of my kids got a piece. HA!!!!! That didn't happen with the fudge one....... I took the first bite and took the rest before the kids knew I had it.It's so rich and creamy, I've only eaten a part of it, and I WILL save the rest for tomorrow............ but Ladies, WOW OH WOW did I find a special treat!!!!!!

Hello All,

I haven't stepped on the scale for about 5 days now. I just got back from my Doctor's appt. (thyroid check). You know how the Doctor's scale always says more than your own scale? Well I was delighted to find that it showed 16 pounds down in 28 days. I'll take it!!

Hope everyone has a great day!!

I'd like to join this challenge, but I am not going to scrap the scale completely. I am going to weigh myself ONLY once a week--as recommended both by Spark and by my doctor. That way I will be sure to catch myself if I am getting off track, but I won't obsess and let every minor fluctuation influence my mood and behavior.

How was everyone's week?? How was weigh in today??? I gained a pound, but, after the week I had, I'm not overly concerned about it.

My neighbor had her baby today!!!! YEAH!!! An absolutely gorgeous little girl!!!!

Hoping the weather isn't as icky as they are predicting for the next few days. Then again, as long as it really snows, I wouldn't mind that.......

Hi All-

I did some running on the treadmill at the Y this AM, hopefully next week the scale will be nicer to me.
Enjoy the day!!!

Hello all! I did NOT weigh in today - my daughter hid the scale. I was a bad girl though today. It was so busy at work that I did not even finish drinking my morning coffee - nevermind eat lunch. I have been so good packing my lunch, but just couldn't get to it. Of course I came home starving. Made pizza of all things, but had a nice tossed salad with it.

Have a wonderful evening ladies!

Hi Ladies! How is everyone today? After living in central TX for 3 years and dealing with storms I learned how to deal with them. Still not totally calm, but, at least with tornados you tend to have a little warning, unlike with earthquakes. The idea of the ground shaking beneath my feet just scares me....

NEW SHOES!!!!! If you have a Walmart near you go check it out, they have a bunch of good shoes on sale!!!! I am loving my new shoes, in fact, I'm going to buy more today. There are all kinds, for walking and running. I got the Dr Scholl's gel shoes. ARE YOU GELLIN??? HAHAHA (my kids think that's the best commercial!) My feet are totally thanking me today!!!!

MC, water weight sucks!!! I feel all bloated today, ugh..... You'd think with all the water I'm drinking, and as often as I tinkle, it wouldn't be an issue. hahaha

Naan, enjoying that vaca??? Lucky you!!!! We have spring break next week, but aren't going anywhere. I'm waitin impatiently for my neighbor to pop. She's at about 40 weeks right now, and if she doesn't go into labor today they are inducing her tomorrow. I can't wait!!!! We are all very excited about this new baby girl coming to join us in the world!!!!

LOVE TO ALL,
Stephanie

Good Morning,
I'm back.
Steph those storms sound awful.
AND being overtired can do damage to your health and your diet. And you could be dehydrated!!
Take care of yourself today. I am amazed at your positive attitude!!

I am trying to get back on track today.
I did ok yesterday. Got in a 5k walk anyway!!

WEll better go get off my butt!
Have a great day girls!

Wow Steph, you have had your fill of terrible weather. I am scared for you! You sound so calm about it though and that amazes me.

I'll bet the two pounds is fluid. Of course I had to step on the scale this morning and I weighed three pounds more than yesterday and I only had 1600 calories and did 75 minutes of cardio yesterday. Obviously it had to be fluid.

I hope all is well and you stay safe!

Have a great night all!

GOOD MORNING!!!!
Oh to be on vacation!!!!!!! I envy that idea!!!!
We had quite the weekend weather wise around here, so I didn't get to go outside much. Well, unless you count the middle of the night runs around the cul-de-sac to wake the neighbors for the tornado at midnight....... We had at least 2 twisters over the weekend here, but all things considered, not much in the way of damage. Most of the damage was windows from the hail. Alot of broken glass and dented cars.

Really didn't get to do much exercises and I can feel the difference today. Broke down and got on the scale, just to see how much impact it had, and I gained 2 pounds. Monday I had to sleep to catch up from my total of 4 hours through the entire weekend!!!! Got to do my walking aerobics this morning, and am just full of pep now!

Hope everyone is doing wonderfully!!!!! Have a great vacation Naan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love to all,
Stephanie

Hey Naan,

One can't expect not to indulge on vacation! It is great though that you had a better sense of what you were eating. That is a great sign!! Hope you have a safe and wonderful time. Try not to worry too much about Friday. You will burn plenty of calories skiing.

Have a great night everyone.

Way to go MC!

I totally blew this weekend. I will be okay as long as i don't show a gain next friday. If i even stay the same i will not freak. I ate and drank quite a bit. Although, not as much as i used to. I had some sense of control.

Have a great day all.

I am on my little vacation, at Lutsen, but my room is not ready. My mom and daughter are skiing and i (sigh) have 2 hours alone!!

Cheers,

Morning all!

I kept to my schedule not weighing yesterday and so today was my day. I was surprised! I lost 3 1/2 for 16 1/2 total. I was used to seeing either the same weight or maybe 1/2 or 1 on a big day. I was delighted!! Maybe this waiting to weigh IS a good thing!

Have a great day all!

Hi girls-
Good luck Stephanie! We had a small "tornado" (the word I use) come through our yard last June. Made a HUGE (200 yr old) oak tree fall on our house. Crushed our family room w/the boys in it. Thank be to all holy things that they were only slightly injured. On the bright side, we are going to remodel this spring Luckily, in our area, Syracuse, NY they are very, very far between. Can't imagine having a whole season of them...I'll be crossing everything I can cross for you and your loved ones.

Congrats to everyone for beating that scale this weekend!!

Peace,
Jill

Mornin again my ladies! Staying off those scales?? HAHAHA Love you all
Eating the same amount, but in smaller portions, throughout the day (one meal broke into 2-4 meals) is a great way to loose weight. It's worked wonders for me!
Remember, eating out, smaller portions

As for the storms, It's been awhile since I've been in storms like this, but, for the kids, I have to be the strong one. We aren't supposed to be having tornados (a few near Branson, just a couple hours from me) till spring, but, we've had them all winter long. YUCKY YIKES!!!! HAHAHAHA
Love to all, Stephanie

Thanks for the encouragement Naan. I am going to try to cut down to every other day for now. I know I can't make it til Friday. I am also going to get a measuring tape and track "other things". Maybe seeing that will help my obsession.

MC, you can do it!!! Hang in there. I am especially afraid of the scale on weekends. Don't do it!
I always go up a bit due to my love of red wine and bloating. It usually disappears by about Tuesday though! So I am not getting on that darn thing until next Friday!!!

Good Luck,
Naan

Hi girls,
Jill, that is great - a little realization and a victory on not ordering a huge meal.

My stomach has been adjusting too. I eat way more often, but smaller amounts. I just can't stuff it in like I used to!!

Steph, that sounds horrible. You sound used to it though! Is that normal where you live?

Hope everything is alright now!!

Have a great day girls!

I am attending my 3rd out of 4 dinners our in a row tonight! I'm not doing badly, but will have to up my cardio next week I bet!!!

Cheers,
Naan
