It seems like we are the only ones left on this board. But that's ok. We can still accomplish what we want to. Myrna, I think the new challenge is a great idea. I'm looking forward to it. I've not been doing so well this week. But keep on swimming as in "finding Nemo"...Talk to tomorrow.

I've just done a walkaerobics and a Pilates video as the weather is not very good today.
I think you've made a good decision, Joyce. Until earlier this year I was still going to my old gym, which was 40 minutes by car, then I switched to one I can get to in only ten minutes and it's made a big difference to how often I go.
I'll have a look at your new thread, Myrna, when you get it going. I agree with the idea that we are challenging ourselves and any improvement is a bonus.

Hello to all!
Janice 399 and I are going to start a new thread for challenges based on taking short steps and having 1-3 challenges going until we decide to add more. Short steps as in, weekly challenges based on tracking our minutes of exercise, cutting certain foods out of our meal plans that are not conducive to good health or weight loss and adding in better foods....we thought that working it on a weekly basis would help form better habits rather than trying to work the challenge on a month long basis....
We are naming the thread Challenging US! This, being because we are challenging ourselves instead of each other and then will be support for the others who are participating....I will open the thread on the Community Journal on Sunday and the challenges will begin each Monday.....this is a new concept and we are going to give it a heck of a try and see where we can go with it.....small steps, big rewards because we will be setting reasonable goals and challenges....
All are welcome and we are looking for input!

Good Morning to all!
I was up at 4 this morning.....got my dogs, cats and the fish fed and now am heading down to do my work out......today is my 3 mile walk....just need to get the house heated up a little bit more to get really motivated.....
Joyce, I think that sounds like a great idea if you have all the stuff a home......I belonged to a gym for several months, and I did great going every morning at 5 but then decided I could work out at home also....

Hi there,
I couldn't get out of bed on time this morning to do my exercises so I'm going to have to do them tonight. I will be glad when the dental crap is all done. I have 6 more to get pulled next Thursday and then I get my new dentures.I have also decided to cancel my gym membership. I have all the equipment at home so why should I pay $45 a month for a gym?Seemed like a good idea at the time. Hope everyone has a great day!!!!!

Joyce, I'm so sorry you're having such a rotten time and hope that the new teeth will make it all worthwhile.
Myrna, I'm glad you decided to give it another go. I think it was just a quiet time here following the holiday and with some of us not being so well. I hope we'll be posting more often again now.

| So sorry about your mouth pain....youch!!! Get rested and relaxed! I am sure you will be glad it is all over....I had extensive dental stuff going on last year, but this year is better.....

Your right. It is hard to stay motivated if no one is responding. I will make it a habit to post at least once a day. If I don't post first thing in the morning I will post at night.I'm going to go take a nap now as my mouth is hurting..I'm having my teeth out as I am getting dentures. Next week the last 6 come out and I get my new teeth...Hurray hopefully no more pain.....

It gets lonely here when nobody comes to visit......not much of a challenge if you are by yourself........so, I will stick around and see what happens.........it would be great if everyone would come in more often..........

Paolina is right. Don't give up.I haven't been able to post for a couple of days as I was really busy at work and getting more teeth pulled. I managed to lose 1/2 pound last week. So, I'm down 6 1/2 pounds. Doesn't seem like much but my pants are actually fitting better. I think it may be the exercise that is helping more than the diet at this point.I think around the holidays people just kind of lose focus so I think that we all should make it a habit to post daily. What does everyone think?

Hey everyone!
I'm glad to see that there are still some people around! After starting this thread, I fell off the wagon and have been spinning my wheels for a long time now!
So I just joined a gym and hired a personal trainer to help me get back on track, and decided I really needed to make a 10-pound goal again. Not to mention the fact that I was feeling guilty about abandoning this thread after starting it!
Anyway, I'm starting out at 192 and hope to get to 182 by January 10th. Good luck everyone!

I am up and ready to head down to do my Core ball.....I actually have gained two lbs recently so now I have to do double duty to get that off and then some........need some inspiration!!

Hi Myrna! If you take another look, give it another go because it was a good thread last month and maybe we can build it up again.
I had the same problem when I entered through "see my posts", Slimfit, but they all appeared when I came in through the Forum.
I haven't been posting because I was in bed most of last week sufering from a virus infection but I've been exercising [even if at a reduced level] this week and started tracking my snacks and fibre again yesterday. I've lost nine of the ten pounds but two of them were last week so I hope I don't put them back on now I've eating more again. I'm at 120 now and really would like to get to 118 by Christmas.

Is anyone still doing this challenge - seems a while since anyone posted - I guess Thanksgiving got you all preoccupied.
I for one will be taking up this challenge again after gaining a couple of pounds on my trip to Melbourne last week.
My original goal was to get from 150lb to 140lb by Nov 27th. I didn't make it, and only got to 145lb by that date. I'm now sitting at 149lb after my holiday weight gain, so I'm back on a strict programme and determined to get down to 140 by January 15th - that's 6 weeks so I need to loose 1.5lb per week.
Here goes. Anyone else still going?

I'm in- I need to loose a good ten pounds before I feel as if I've master loosing weight after childbirth. I just need to get my butt on a program. That's the problem with me. I never ever do the physical work.

I really need to get back on track now after six days of no exercise due to a virus. The only "good" thing was that I wasn't able to eat much. I'll see what the results are next time I weigh myself.
I did manage to walk for 30 minutes today by dividing it into two parts and tracked my food. At least snacking hasn't been a problem this week but I just hope my appetite doesn't come back before I'm able to exercise properly again.

It is 6:00 AM in my area and I am heading down to the basement to get my walking in.....I have much to do today and am not slowing down much until I get it done.......am preparing for my kids to spend the weekend......
