Thanks, Auntie. I guess it just takes practice. Once before I tried counting and all of sudden I realized I was on 229 (which I know wasn't right.) I'll just need to focus, focus, focus.

We've had some unseasonable warm days too, Karen, and what a treat. Know what you mean.

1 mile inside yesterday, and today 1 mile inside, and 1 mile outside hiking up and down a hill--A T-shirt afternoon in January!! 84 to go.

When I was in high school, I was a competitive swimmer. I used to do the endurance races (800 and 1600 meters). I just got used to saying the lap number over and over in my mind while swimming.

For the crawl, it's something like, "one, one, one, breathe, one, one ..." and the breast stroke, I think the number every second stroke. It also gives my mind something to work on, instead of bringing my daily stresses into the pool with me.

Today: walking - 7km = approx 4.25 mi
Total: 7.25
To Go: 92.75

I went another 1.5 mile on the treadmill today. This was huge because I went into the gym thinking, "Well, I guess I could put in 0.5 mi today..." Yay Me!

I can't remember what I'm up to (8?) but it's in my signature below...

Weather broke so I was able to go riding - 12.5 miles.
Walked 3.

That means 38 down - 62 to go.

Hope all of you have a great start to the week.

(just as point of interest I added up the miles and as a group we've passed 200 miles. Keep it up!)

Stationary bike for 31 minutes = 7 miles

20 minutes of swimming, 16 lengths of the (25 m) pool is approximately 1/4 mile. 98.75 to go.

Not too shabby for not swimming in 5 years ... I want to get back up to my all time best with swimming, which was 200 laps in an hour.

Edit: Add 1.75 mi walking - 97 to go

Saturday 4 miles - 77.5 to go

2x a day is a great way to go at it, Darlene. I think I'd choose that rather than building pillars. :)

Auntiesocial, It's fine to count your swimming in this challenge. Jacob does and I will when I begin next month.

I worked on concrete and stucco (not what I do for a living) but helped build two pillars at the end of my driveway. When I calculated 8 hours of heavy yard work, I burned over 2800 calories for the day! So I had that extra slice of pizza! today.

I'm in. I did 2 today ... 98 to go.

Can I include swimming? Or maybe I'll track that separately. Starting tomorrow, I'll be adding 30 minutes of swimming 3x a week to my exercise schedule. I'm a slow walker and discovered that 30 minutes of front crawl burns 528 calories ... my walking pales in comparison. I'm working on increasing that to 60 minutes 3x a week.

Hi Erin... Yeah, I didn't get any miles at all in today :( When I woulda gotten to the gym, DS was pitching a fit so it didn't work out. When I meant to go later, DD needed to be picked up early. *sigh*

But yes, I have to drag myself to the gym but feel good afterward.

Tinesha,
On my settings on my stationary bike I ride 20 minutes to go 4 miles. When I went for a 6 mile bike ride last weekend on my bicycle I rode for one hour. Obviously I was not pedaling as hard when I was outside.

Wow! I just finished one mile on our new elliptical machine. That thing is tough! I used one of the pre-programmed workouts and I didn't think I would make it through. Anyway, that's enough for me today.

That takes me to 13 miles so far.

87 to go!

Looks like you and are about the same speed on our treadmills. That's great that you were able to do it all this week, after not doing any last week.

You have to admit - you are cursing the darn thing before you get on it, but feel pretty proud when you've finished!

Can I join the 100-mile? I've been riding a stationary bike the last few days, just started four days ago, but I didn't keep track of the distance. I will keep track starting tomorrow. So, I still have 100 miles to go!!!

So, I'm up to 6.5 mi this week. Up from about... um... ZERO (or darn close to it) the week before.
