Didn't have the best weekend last weekend, ended up eating pizza and just not being as good as I could. This weekend I will do better!!! I will be around the house most of the weekend which makes it easier not to cheat. 1- drink my 12 glasses of water sat/sun 2- go on a walk with my husband sat 3- stick with no heavy eating after 6 pm. Hey Wendy, mind if I join?
I am super bad on the weekends too. My roommates order lots of pizza ever Saturday night. This is the worst because I love pizza and it wouldn't be so bad but it is after 7 pm. I am not worried about Friday because I don't have time to eat. I work from 8 am until 2 am. with a three hour break, but I do have Sat and Sun off which is usually when I pig out and eat fast food. Maybe this will be a good way to kick the old habits with just a few little goals. 1) drink 9 glasses on Sat/Sun 2) do physical activity both Sat/Sun- bike ride & jog 3) NO EATING AFTER 7. ESP. FAST FOODS 4) Keep a positive attitude!
The first weekend is always the hardest so WILL POWER!!!!!!!!

coming up on the weekend. here goes:
1) drink at least 64oz water 2) exercise on both Friday and Saturday for 30mins. 3) one piece of dessert at dinner Friday 4) plan what I'll eat on Friday & Saturday.

| last weekend was not good, food-wise, but so far the week has been good. got a pot luck tonight but I'm not worried (that's good!) this coming weekend we're home and relaxed. I'll make snacks and cut-up veggies so we'll all be ready.

| this weekend was almost as bad as it could be but, today is another day. I binged on chocolate for the first time in a while. I think it had to do with not having any time for myself. and it was in front of the tv. well, another weekend down and a week to start. wendy

well hectic is dull as far as this weekend is going. bad eating but not horrendous. just finished dinner here and that's it for the food fest! if tomorrow is a little better than today, I'll be happy. with all the things going on I haven't been able to exercise but this too will pass. Enjoy the picnic and the BBQ - I love veggis shishkabobs. probably won't sign on on Saturday. later, wendy

I have decided to make sandwiches with lots of veggies and bring some fresh fruit and veggies along as well. I thought that it was a church potluck, but come to find out it is a bring your own picnic deal. The great thing is that there are bunches of hiking trails so that will be really good! I think this Sunday I will end up doing BBQ. I was thinking I would do vegetable shish kabobs and salad for lunch, and then stick with a light dinner. I am still trying to figure out ways to insure this weekend doesn't lead to porking out! Thea

Hey Wendy! Boredom eating is death to me!!! I usually try to stay busy to prevent that but sometimes it is unavoidable. I find that if I know what my plans are for the weekend ahead of time it is a lot easier to maintain, but if we do everything spur of the moment, I end up eating a lot more then I should. I was thinking about bringing a pasta salad or something of that nature and a veggie tray. I am checking out the sparkpeople recipes and found a few possible candidates. It sounds like you will have a pretty eventful weekend! I would suggest that before going to any of your events you eat something like an apple or anything healthy and drink a bunch of water so that it makes it a little easier not to over indulge. I find when I do that it really helps me. I can't wait to hear how everything goes. I will make sure to check in a few times this weekend to see how things are going and let you know what is going on with me. Good luck to us! Thea

Thea, hi. glad to have you. sounds like you've got it down. What are you bringing for the church picnic? (I have a potluck next week) for me, the hard parts are when I'm hanging around the house. boredom eating! and picking. This weekend is busy for me so I'm a little more optimistic. We're meeting a friend that is visiting for a conference for an early breakfast at his hotel (that I can handle), then a friend is coming for the weekend so I'll have her to eliminate the boredom, then Friday dinner is at my in-laws (i've already decided what I'm going to eat and planned for the dessert! Saturday we have a bar-mitzvah to go to so that will take up most of the day and eventhough there will be food, it's won't be that bad. So... with a little help, I, we, will get thru the weekend.

Hey Wendy! I have problems on the weekends too! I really want to be able to maintain even when I am in social situations. I was hoping that I could join the weekend challenge with you. This weekend I will have a church picnic on Saturday and a (hopefully) laid back day on Sunday. I will plan on bringing a healthy dish to the picnic and cold water to drink. I will also take advantage of the area I am going to and go on a hike/walk with my hubby. Sunday I will cook a healthy lunch/brunch and then stick with a light dinner. I know we can do it!!! 1) can do. 2) can do. 3) can do. 4) Friday - will enter a menu on thursday. For Saturday - I'll be out all day, away from home and at a family party. I've no idea what the food will be, I know there will be lunch. I will take "good" snacks and cold water in the car. And go easy and only one dessert.
I can do this.

I find that the worst time for me is the weekend. For me, it's Friday and Saturday (I work Sundays) but for most it's Saturday and Sunday. This challenge is to get me (us?) thru the weekend.... I'm adding ideas on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday I'll finalize and begin on Thursday evening... any takers?
