Trouble,
You sound like Sandra and me when we were first trying to get our bikes set up. I kept trying to clear a place out in the bedroom for it. I finally just put it in there. It's in the way, but I keep thinking I'll clear out a space. But at least I'm doing some riding -- though not as much as I'd like to right now. Maybe I'll ride tonight.
Are you from the central TX area? I hail just south of Austin -- between San Marcos and Austin.

Lissana - come join the fun. I'm still trying to get at least my bike out from behind a ton of boxes. I haven't done anything over the Thanksgiving holiday, except keep my calories down. But tommorrow is back to work and back to the qym.
Everyone have a wonderful day.

| Lissana, old dusty equipment is perfect. most of us are using old stuff that had been put or thrown away. hee hee. we each picked a destination and are logging our steps/miles to get there. please feel free to join in!

| Hello Dumpster Derby ppl. I just joined yesterday too late to join the derby? If just having ole equipment collecting cob web creations is the main prerequisite then I surely qualify. lol. My sons can attest I have quite a collection of none used things to exercise with.
|
|
|
|
I didn't get in regular exercise, worked catering for a Holiday Open House for 3 hours...I wish I knew how to count that exercise. Mostly standing, walking around, setting up and cleaning up. I wish I had put my pedometer on, then I could have figured out how much close to Florida I am! Have a nice night, Sue

I haven't picked a destination yet, but I will give it some thought and let you all know!! I did ride another 15 Minutes this am and I plan to ride 15 minutes this evening. I go approx 10mph so I better put in some time!!
Have a great day!

Dean all mile count, keep on truckin (biking)! Pam, sounds like we're from the same part of the woods. Sanda - Go Horns!
Yesterday, I tried to get my bike out to put in front of the TV. Man it's behind so many boxes. I'm gonna try again today.
Sooo, my 3 trips are yet to take off. But I've got the first stages planned. &(swimming) (climbing stairs) I worked up a stair case for the Eiffel tower, if I printed it, it would be 30 pages high, what a trip.
Everybody have fun on your trips and enjoy the ride/walk etc.

My goodness, Dean, you're a biking machine. 2 hours previously, 95 minutes last night. Last night I only got in 16 minutes. If I don't ride a little longer I'll never make it anywhere.
TroubleP, I like your idea of exploring towns on the internet as you ride through them. I think I may do the same. There's a couple of little towns between here and San Antone that I'd like to explore a little. Once I leave SA, I'm headed for Santa Fe. That means going through a lot of nothing in west TX but maybe I can find some neat little towns.
Sue, now that's an exercise I could enjoy -- helping with the baby. Have you come up with a name that you want him to call you when he gets older?
Minnie and Sandra, I don't have that much energy. It was just a fluke that I ended up walking twice. I was really thankful that my neighbor doesn't walk too fast for me. I wish I had more energy so that I could bike longer. 30 minutes on the thing is very hard for me to reach. I think I may try for 20 minutes tonight.
Well, my neighbor and I are headed out for our walk in a few minutes. Need to go get dressed for it.
Y'all have a good evening.

| Got in 95 minutes last night while watching "War of the Worlds" video, but that only covered the calories in the blueberry cheesecake that got the best of me yesterday, lol. So I can't count that mileage as part of my trip, I guess. As soon as I get ahead of my calorie intake, I'll be heading up to Tacoma, WA I think.

| 20 minutes today. another 4 miles. 25.5 total miles. another 30 miles and I'll stop over in NYC to catch a broadway show or something, then I'll keep on pedalling... Shooting for Texas... not sure how many miles that is, but i'll look it up...

Well, I didn't get in any "organized" exercise, but a lot of helping with the new baby, setting up dinner preparations and clean up exercise...so I am sure that helped. Gonna get some "organized" exercise in now on my dumpster bike for a while. Take care all, Sue

Had a nice sleep last night and feeling good today. It snowed last night and believe it or not, hubby and I had to fight over who gets to shovel the drive. I was always happy to let him do it in the past. Now I want the exercise!
Pam, you sound like you are feeling much better now. Your energy levels always inspire me
I plan to get on my dumpster bike later tonight. And this morning, I've already done 30 activity burst minutes with my kiddos. dinner is at a friend's house so I'm not too busy today. I baked desserts last night... pumpkin pie and gluten/caseine-free brownies for my two highly allergic little ones. I'm not fond of either dessert, so I made them intentionally. hee hee.

Cool! Pam I get bushed just thinking about walking 6 miles. I didn't work out any yesterday. I plan on walking around my block (is 2 miles) before I go for turkey dinner. I've decided to take my trip on this site up to Canada. Of course I like the back rodes and who will know what small towns I'llstop in, along the way. Each time I've made it to a town, I'm gonna look it up on the internet and see if I can find out some interesting information. Oh, this trip is going to be soooo much fun. I've got to get on a map site and start planning. I love planning trips, but my budget gets me no where fast. This will be just as exciting.
Turkey day is not at my house, we're still cleaning up from Halloween. Also my only items to bring are the relish tray, veggie and fruit tray. Munch as much as I want.
I hope everyone as a wonderful Thanksgiving and small samples of deserts.

I tried to do some of my baking last night but got too lazy. My last pie is finishing up now. The turkey is ready to go in the oven the minute the pie comes out. That just leaves making the rolls. The big plus -- my kitchen is clean. Usually it's a mess when I'm done baking.
I plan on riding some today plus getting in a walk this evening.
Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving.

Welcome Minnie and TroubleP! I am so glad we will see you here Minnie! I understand about the BL Holiday Challenge...it is awfully big. Sorry Sandra about the teams, but I think having some friendly competition will help with our other challenges too! Ok, Pam/KAWS...forget what I just said, let's go kick butt...just teasing! I had a looonnnggg day too, went over to the hospital to see my new Grandbaby...he's adorable. Then came home to write a PPT presentation for church on Sunday and got everything ready so I can make a pumpkin pie now, while watching the Macy's Day Parade! Good thing we women can multi-task! Happy Turkey/Thanksgiving Day to all! Remember to get some time on our Dumpster Equipment in, that will help with the overload of cals today! TTFN, Sue

Welcome TroubleP and Minnie. Hope you enjoy the Dumpster Derby. A great way to encourage each other even if we don't have the best of equipment. At least we are getting in the cardio.
Sandra, I'm so sorry you had to put in a full day today. Our site managers usually allow us to take the afternoon off. Get a good night's sleep.
I didn't ride tonight. I was planning on getting in about 15 minutes but a neighbor called and asked if I wanted to go walking with her and I jumped at the opportunity. So with my morning walk, I got in 6 miles today. I'm beat now.

Minni and Trouble, Welcome! we're all having fun with our old equipment. You can use whatever equipment you want wherever you want to pedal, walk, run, climb, row, your way to anywhere in the world you want to go.
I had all the intentions to ride tonight but i had to work. Just finished working. If I started riding now, there would be no way to get 8 hours of sleep. I opt for sleep, but will get out and run tomorrow...

Hi, Oh how nice. I'm gonna get my daughter's old room/gym/now storage, cleaned. Then I can walk / ride / or climb where ever it may take me. Can I also track the treadmill and bike, I use at the gym? (I stop by there after work, because I much rather fight the Treadmill, than the traffic.(Yuck) I just want to take out a map and decide a place, and track my progress, thru the US. I'd like to start up the Eiffel Tower, it will take me a while. Last time I did the stair climber, I had just made it up to 5 mins (an lets see that was 2 yrs ago)
By the way, Kaws, I just want to take that picture, blow it up and paste it to my fridge (what a self portrait). Sure would keep me out of the fridge and laughin.

Good job on the time, Pam. That's ok about the grandchild...so much goes on, it's hard to keep track! I was happy to see that you and KAWS and I were on the same team on the BL Holiday Challenge! Too bad we couldn't get Sandra on too...oh well, that will make some friendly competition on our Dumpster site! Snowing here, so I think I will ride my bike tonight at home after pie baking and during TV watching. I love to be inside working out, with a fire in the fireplace and snow coming down outside! Take care, Sue

Sue I know... I read about your grandbaby on the BL thread. I am SO THRILLED for you. Babies are such bundles of joy, don't you agree?
I WILL be riding tonight during hte show dang-it. I didn't do it last night so I just HAVE TO tonight. I'll be thinking of you all!

Sorry I have been out of touch today, my daughter had her baby this morning and it started last night, so I was a little preoccupied and busy today. She had a boy, 7lbs.4ozs, 20 1/4 inches and a real cutie! If I say so myself, as a proud Grandma.
Sandra, are you going to be riding tonight during the show? I will be and I will be thinking of all my Dumpster Derby buddies! Welcome, Misty! Sounds like you are feeling better, Pam. KAWS, nice choice of destination!
I did ride during the game on Sunday...and then again that night. Last night I rode during TV, I need to convert my time into distance so I know how far I have gotten towards Florida! It is supposed to snow tomorrow here, so I am looking forward to my hypothetical trip to Florida! Take care all and keep on riding/stepping/walking! Sue

Glad you got started, Misty. Have you picked a destination or are you just riding for fun?
Sandra, my speedometer reads 10 to 12 mph. So if I do my math, then there's no way I could have gone 17 miles, in 30 minutes, is there. Don't know why I didn't think about that last night.
I'm going to make the assumption that my speedometer is right. That means that I only went 5.5 miles last night (average at 11 mph). Now that I know that the odometer isn't working, I won't have to keep track of the numbers. That was bugging me.
Hope everyone has a good day today.

Misty... good for you!
Pam... hm... My odometer doesn't work. I've been giving myself credit for about 4 miles every 30 minutes. Maybe my math is wrong. I figured I was riding at about 8 miles per hour. That's probably a little slow... probably closer to 10-12 miles per hour. I don't have a spedometer either. What speed does yours say?
