Your boys sound like they are eating healthier like you are. What a great example to them and a great life lesson you are giving them.

You may want to include a childrens' daily multi-vitamin for the boys just to cover all the bases. When they grow up they will surely and fondly remember a father who loved them enough to care for his own health. What a gift! You have very lucky children. Warm Regards, Tot, gammy of 6 and vitamin giver.

| I agree. Everything sounds fine. My husband and I chose to feed our son healthy foods, without all the junk, and he was over 18 months before he even knew what a cookie was. He is a healthy, active 2 year old who will choose fruit over junk anyday. I believe that if you provide your child with a healthy foundation, they will make better choices about food throughout their entire lives.

Let's just do a rundown on the diet you are currently feeding the boys: protein: good Vitamins: good Minerals: good trace nutrients in fruits and veggies: good Sugars and starches in veggies:good Fats and oils: human bodies can synthesize these if needed, so not absolutely necessary so your good Excess sugars: not there so good. starches: usually burned as energy, but can be substituted with other sugars, since you have fruits and veggies to supply some you are good.
Basically you are feeding the boys the healthy foods, if they feel the need for fats and sugars they can get that in the school lunches, or over at friends houses, anything you can do to get them to eat healthy food will pay off throughout thier lives.
good job

| I would say they are probably get more nutritional value. Have you thought about whole wheat pastas? If they like pasta that would be a healthier version. Fresh fruits are good and so are vegetables.

Hi everyone. I am a single SAHM I have two boys. Now since I have been dieting I have changed my diet pretty radically and I am worried this change may not be best for the boys. They do not seem to mind that I am buying 100 calorie snacks instead of bags of chips and cookies( which we never had much of to start with)and that when I do get soda its diet( no sugar no caffeine)or that I have started buying low carb breads and low carb wraps and the like. they dont even seem to mind the fact that I have cut most of the pasta out of our diet never been much on pasta anyhow. What I worry about is are they getting enough during the day my diet consists of foods that are low in sodium, fat, sugar, and carbs but it is balanced. I do try to include fresh fruits as a source of vitamins nutrients and sugar.
I just want to make sure they get what they need without blowing my whole food budget just to do it.
Does anybody have any input on this?
