Congratz Linda!

My plan is to take it head on starting Monday. I am also in the Army Reserve so I had a physical fitness test I did not do so well in, but better than expected! I have to do atleast 17 pushups in 2 minutes, atleast 50 situps in 2 minutes, and walk 2.5 miles in atleast 34 minutes. I did 15 pushups, 33 situps, and walked 2.5 miles in 46 minutes. So not too bad... I'm ready to start a change, regardless of the soreness from Saturday. :D

Hi everyone - I'm coming back to fast break because I had "one of those springs" where the stress was huge, and I couldn't seem to focus on me enough. So... now I want to spend this summer focusing on me and what I need.
Good luck, everyone. Linda

Cindy and Aussiehaley I would definitely like to be buddies with you ladies! It seems we have similar goals, I forgot to mention I am 24 by the way. I "flubbed" yesterday and ate a whole bag of Andy Capp's hot fries, which I have had the hardest time finding the nutritional facts for! LOL But today is a new day! :D

I understand what you mean about motivation. Some days I just want to give up. I rarely have my carbs in the recommended range, my calories are often over too. I have been trying to exercise more to make up for it and am making slow but steady progress. If we all work together we can help keep one another on track. Cindy

I'll be your buddy! motivation is always my biggest road block, too, hopefully we can help keep each other accountable.

I'm 5'4" and as my ticker demonstrates, currently 147 pounds. My first goal is to lose 10 pounds but I'd like to get down under 120 eventually. Our goals are pretty similar in scope - want to be buddies?

Hi! I'm just starting Sparkpeople, but I've been a dieter for over 40 years. I try to be positive about dieting. I try to keep a picture on my refrigerator of how I want to look. Also, I usually pick out some clothes that I would like to work towards being able to wear. I try to remind myself to set small goals within the bigger goal, like eating the right amount of veggies each day for a week, or drinking my 8 eight ounce glasses every day. Try putting a little bit of lemon and a spenda packet in your water. They say that lemon is good for cleaning your cells of impurities and making your body function better. Lastly, make sure that you tell a friend that you see often about your goal. The worst enemy to dieting is secrecy. If you keep it a secret, people will accidentally tempt you with foods you love but cannot eat right now.
Best Wishes, write back soon.

Ok, ok. I will admit I have been in the "Fast Break" phase for months now, just can't get my act together long enough to go anywhere. Well, finally, it's time for a change! I think what I'm missing is the motivation, and a lot of times it's hard to get that from myself. I believe if I have a buddy who is on the same path as me, it will help us both motivate eachother. Are you the one? Just a quick demo, I'm 5'2'' and 165lbs. I would like to drop down to 125lbs as my initial goal. That is a 40lb loss. Anyone interested?
