Congrats on all the babies!! Pregnant woman ROCK!!! For the gals dealing with naseua, try nibbling on crystalized ginger (available at health food stores). Get the better quality stuff, I think it was the Australian one that was the best. Totally helped me out during my pregnancies.

| My problem isn't the exercise so much...my midwife has cleared me to keep my normal routine with a few exceptions. It's just that I feel so TERRIBLE that I don't want to do anything but lay on the sofa. Of course, with a 3-year-old, that's not possible, but you know what I mean. Are there any activities that any of you ladies found helpful or soothing that might help me take my mind off of my nausea for a while?

| Congratulations for your pregnancy! Like you have been advised before, all the questions you may have, you should ask them to your doctor. When I got pregnant, my doctor said that I could not be on a diet, but that I had to try not to overeat and just eat healthy stuff for the baby's sake. As for exercise, just walk and walk...don't try anything else, specially during the first trimester. And, girl, sit down and enjoy the feeling!

| Well, I started out well exercising, but I have been so sick for the last week or so that I can barely haul myself out of bed and keep my house in some semblance of order, much less get out and work out! Major morning sickness!! So, I think today I'm going to try to get out and go to the gym, and even if all I do is swim some laps, at least I will have done something. I am just so pukey...any thoughts?

I totally forgot to tell you congrats.

| You should really speak with you Dr. If you have had anytype of problems with any pregnancies then they would probably tell you to take it easy and not do anything that involves your stomach or back. My said the I could still walk but not squatting.

Congratulations!
I know that I had been told that it's ok to stick with exercise your body is used to, but just to take it down a little in intensity. Listen to your body. Any strange aches, take it easy.

| I just wanted to congratulate you on your weight loss and your pregnancy! Have a happy and healthy 9 months.

congrats! its definitely ok to work out while pg, as long as your doctor thinks its safe, you may have to tone it down based on how hardcore you usually go. i loved anything in the water and prenatal yoga when I was pg with my 8 month old, and staying active helps at the end when you feel miserable and gives you a jump start on losing after the baby comes!
havr a happy and healthy 9 months!

Hey, congrats you guys! I just found out that I'm preggers with #2 as well...due the middle of January as far as we can tell. I set up an account on Babyfit.com, but I just don't like it very well. I visit it occasionally, but do all of my recording on SP. You can change your nutrition goals, so I went over what I had been doing with my midwife, and she said that everything sounded great, I just needed to cut down on ab exercises, not get my heart rate over 140 for a sustained period (more than 5 min), and increase my calories to 1800-2000. It's been hard for me to meet my calorie requirements!! I'm so used to 1200-1550 that I really truly struggle most days with meeting even 1800. Also, I've been as sick as a dog half the day, so it stinks to feel bad most of the day, then try to pack in 1800 cal!!! I added calcium, iron, and folate/folic acid to my tracking...all has been well. In fact, my midwife wants me to print out and bring in my food intake and exercise to every monthly appointment. I think she's worried that I'm going to try to keep losing weight or something. I would NEVER to do anything to jeopardize my child, and I haven't lost at all. Holding steady, in spite of my healthy routine and nausea. Good luck you guys!! We should keep in touch...it seems like we're probably all due around the same time.

| I just found out I'm pregnant too! (with number 2) We weren't expecting it yet...so it was a bit of a shock. Infact, I'd just completed my first 5k race 2 weeks prior to finding out. I started to switch back over to BabyFit, as someone below mentioned...but I'm just not ready to do that yet. I like the focus on exercise here. I've changed my calorie goals to match what is recommended....but I really have healthier expectations this time around. Last time I gained 60 (and lost 75...so that was good). I hadn't lost as much as I wanted to before getting pregnant again, but that's ok. So far I've found that I only crave healthy foods. (Completely the opposite of my last pregnancy) I've added folic acid and iron to my nutition counter, and I'll keep with SparkPeople to make sure I'm getting enough...but also not too much. Good luck to you and congratulations.

congratulations!
I know that you can continue to exercise, but they type of exercise you do needs to change slightly. Look into a yoga/exercise class for preggos :) I know I've seen them advertised.

Hi and Congrats!
I thought I might have been pregnant too with #3, but after 2 negative tests I guess not...but thats okay cause I still have more to lose...
I exercised through my last pregnant with low impact aerobics and I know they say you can continue at Curves while pregnant too....I don't know much about yoga, but your yoga instructor might know and of course your doctor.
I plan on eating much more healthy with my third as well...I gained 50 with the first and 35 with the second....so I'm hoping for even less with the 3rd!
Good luck with having a healthy pregnancy!

Hi everyone!
I have lost 30lbs since 9/06. My goal was 50lb, but I am pretty darn happy with what I got! DH and I just found out this week that we are expecting baby #3! While extremely happy and excited, I do have some questions.
Can I keep up my fitness/gym routine? I know that I shouldn't try to lose weight, but can I continue doing what I'm doing to Maintain my body/fitness? How long can I continue to take yoga? I do that once a week.
I really have made strides in my lifestyle to accomodate weight loss and a healthy life style. I know that this pregnancy will be so different than the first two. I have never been so in shape or eat this healthy before in my life. I don't want to start over at square one when I get the post-pregnancy okay.
Thanks for all help!
Carrie
