It will get better. Change is hard for everyone. But once they see the changes are for the better they will like it too. Good luck. Just take one day at a time. That is so great walking to the store. If you can get the whole family to go for walks then it becomes fun for everyone. One thing that has been nice for my walks is a book on cd. I pop it in and go. But that is for my time. Not with the family. Next thing you know you are walking for 5 hours because you want to know what happens. LOL.

surprisingly, DH eats exactly what i eat and loves salads . he's always been stick thin.
and amazingly, mom , dad and grandma who don't even live in the same house as we do, start eating more healthier so...i believe that the good habits will rub to everyone that actually LOVE you and who will realize what you do is healthy. it just takes time...

They made me breakfast with supervision today! Oatmeal muffins and coffee. :) They are 10 and 7. My 7 year old son is a little more interested in cooking than my daughter, but I'll be getting her into it more soon, too - to enable more learning. :)
Then we went for a walk to the store - actually the whole family - a rare happening these days! Hopefully more will be happening during the last days of school and into the summer. :) I KNOW they will want me to play with them more! I'm going on both field trips with them - one this Thurs, and one next. All day walking trips! I KNOW I'll get my exercise in!!! :D I think I'll make it, too!! I was worried for a while that my ankles wouldn't be able to take it. I've surprised myself by walking as much as I have this last month!!! :D

I think you are doing great. I think this is going to take time. I know my kids are not thrilled with all the healthy food that I have in the house..
but the benefits are going to awsome for everyone.
taking the weight off slowly will mean that you will be successful.. Are your kids old enough to help in the kitchen? will they help you cook the new foods? You are allowed to be you..
It is important to be yourself.. You are making these improvements for a reason.. and it will benefit everyone.. It will take time for everyone to get used to this new way.. but they will.

I know I'm trying to do the right and healthy thing...and my family is NOT trying to sabotage me, but they are feeling the effects of me FOCUSING on this new way of living. They don't like the time I spend figuring out what to eat, or looking for support, if I "take too long" in their estimation. They aren't used to me saying "no" to things they ask me to eat, and since this is so slow this time, I don't think I'm as happy with myself just yet. They are feeling more distance from me. I didn't expect these reactions. Another thing I have to change!!! I'm revamping my whole life - am I allowed to be me????
