Christy Welcome and good luck with becoming a healthier you.
For me keeping track of what I eat is most important. I tend to have binge times. I would suggest tracking your food and see where you need to improve as far as eating. An exercise, if not start out slowly and build up from there.
I have a daughter that is five and she loves the Wiggles. I will put in the DVD of the big red car and just dance around with her. I burn some caloires and have fun with her as well.

Hello, my name is Christy and I'm a newbie. I am very excited to be making some steps into feeling better about myself and to be able to more active with my son. I'm a single mom to a six year old son, we are finishing up Kindergarten in a few weeks. I am about to start my career as a surgical technologist and would like to be not so out of breath when I'm working in an emergency situation.
Anyways, I hope to make some new friends, get support, and I love the idea of a Christian message board.
ps... how do I get those little tickers to track weight loss and my picture next to my posts? I'm new to sparkpeople, what are the points used for? Any info to help a newbie out would be GREAT!
