thanks so much for the encouragment, they have given me 1220-1500 as my cal for the day and i seem to eat at around 2000. And i make pretty good choices most of the time. But your right about setting up small goals thats a good idea, thanks so much.

Oh, one more thing...
Are you still in Fast Break? What are your Fast Break goals? Consider JUST aiming for those each day. If you meet them, you had a successful day, regardless of what else you did. Take the pressure off yourself.
When you move into stage two, you'll phase in other healthy habits. Take it slow and congratulate yourself for the things you're doing *right.* No one can be perfect. There's no reason in the world you have to make a bunch of changes overnight.
Phase it in, and you're a lot more likely to stick with it.

First, make sure your calorie range is high enough. Many people cut their calories down way too low when they diet. That just sets you up to fail. 1400-1600 is probably a safe amount.
Next, consider what you're eating. Is it processed food or whole food? How much sugar -- or even artificial sweetner -- is in it? How much refined white flour? Are you getting enough servings of fruits and veggies per day?
I found, seriously, that when I switched to whole foods, I have trouble eating all my calories in a day. I have entire days where I'm not hungry! I actually prefer to be hungry, but I find that I have no trouble having nuts or good cheese fairly often because I actually need the nutrient-dense foods to meet my minimum calorie requirements.

I can't stay within my calorie range, i've eaten like double the calories three or four times this past week, and even when i know how many i've got left i still eat. As soon as i feel a little hungry, or the thought of eating crosses my mind i eat whatever i'm thinking about. I act like i'm craving something ehan really i just feel like i can't control it. Any suggestions, i'm feeling really low right now and like i'm never going to be able to do this and yet i want it so bad. I've been yo-yo dieting for like the past 8 years and i'm so sick of it. I want to be thin and healthy in my 30's and i've got less than 2 years to get there. help me.
