Techman: I know that a half apound is nothing really, I am sure my body is just trying to re-adjust to a new weight. And really a half a pound is a coffee cup of water, so really it's not bad. My wife has arthuritus in her knees and she is trying to avoid knee re-placements. She is in pain, and can't walk very much, yet she does try. The doctor thinks that an injection may help her out, so this is the first of 5 injections she will get over in the next month. I hope it helps her pain, We will see. Thanx for asking. She is so afraid of needles, sometimes she would rather have the pain. Jim

Good Morning Jim, Sorry about yesterday I seem to be having a problem with my posts from work. I tried 5 or six times to post, and before a had time to figure it out I was called to a server emergency. I am really jazzed about your new weight. It has inspired me to exercise more myself thanks. I will be weighing in later today. I will let you know how it goes. Have a great day!! Techman

Good Morning Techman: How are you doing today, I am doing rather well myself. This morning I weighed myself and I was shocked to see I have even dropped more weight. I am at 238.6 lbs, which is just over 30 lbs. in 60 days. I will give myself an "at-a-boy" and a "W_T_G" too. I hope you are doing well, Keep up the good job.
Jim

| Techman: You know, it is what ever works best for you/me is how you or I should do this. What works best for me is to think of this as a life or death situation, and for me it really is life or death. While my weight will probably not kill me today or tomorrow it probably will kill me sooner than later. When I think of it like this I really think about everything I put into my mouth before I do. I think to myself, Do I really need to eat this extra bite right now, and will the extra bite help me to where I want to end up? The anwser to these questions I already know, so I don't. I also check my weight everyday so I know as soon as possible if I am doing something wrong, and if I am I want to know as soon as possible so I can change it. Don't be afraid to get on the scales. What I am afraid of, is staying away from the scales only to find that I have gained 5 lbs that I could have known about. Keep it going Techman, I wish you all my best, as luck plays no part in this. It seem to me that it all skill with information to back it up. Good Morning. Jim

Good Morning Techman: Today is my 60th day at SP, and I have lost almost 29 lbs. so far. I feel much lighter on my feet, almost like I'm floating at times, it's great. Keep up the good work. Jim
PS: actually I re-weighed myself and I am down another 1/2 a pound, so I have lost 29.6 lbs. in 60 days. I feel rather good, health too.

| Techman: You know I did do some walking, instead peddling my stationary bike, my wife and I went to "Knotts Berry Farm". We walked up and down their market street out-side the main gate, walked through almost every store they have out-side the park, it did me good for a change of pace from peddling in place. I might try going swimming today if the weather stay as hot as it has been. (I have my own pool to play-in) Temp. here yestersay was 80 degress or better, Good Morning. Jim

Good Morning Jim, We had a great trip. For once on a road trip I did not over eat. Thanks for the encouragement I think I might be getting the hang of this. I am paying closer attention to what I eat not just how much. I have also increased my walking time this weekend. How did your weekend go? did you do more walking? Techman
|
|
|
|
| Techman: How did you do on your mini-trip yesterday. Good I'll bet. For me, my weight has been the same for 3 days now, neither up nor down. I will be making a change today, less food and more walking. Good Morning, Jim

Hey Techman: I will, have a good day, I am trying to peddle my stationary bike more so I think I am adding muscle, because today when I weighed myself I didn't lose any from yesterday. I will back off the bike a bit and I am sure that my weigh-in tomorrow will be better. I weigh myself everyday to keep me in check, I want to know as soon as possible if I am messing up. For me it is best, but for others here at this site, it's not so good. I hope you enjoy your trip, and that might be good mini test to see how you do with snacks on the road. All my best. Jim. Bye for now.

| Techman: I kinda know what you mean, Lately I have been trying to stay at about 1100 or 1200 calories each day, but breakfast and lunch uses them up almost completely, I am usually at about 800 to 900 before dinner and have to limit my dinners to 300 or 400 to stay where I want to be. Breakfast and coffee are my calorie hogs, but I got to have my coffee to wake up. I am trying to drink my coffee without sugar now and I hope this will help me. It sounds to me like you are getting into the SparksPeople plan. Keep it up, and it will only get better. Jim

Good Morning, Regular day at work. Doing OK. Went a little overboard on my calories yesterday. I shouldn't have eaten out twice. No more chinese take out for lunch!! Boy is that a calorie hog, and the dessert at dinner. Between the entree at lunch and the dessert at dinner 2000 calories!!! Otherwise alls well

Techman: It does take some time to get up to speed on a weight-loss diet. Last May I weighed 320 lbs. and at that time I decided to quite drinking for a year or more and had an almost 50 lb. weight drop in about two months, then this Jan. I continued on with the 2nd stage of my weight_loss trip and to date I has lost a grand total of 79 lbs. so far. I think that when I get to 220 lbs. I will consider dropping another 20 lbs. but I am going to wait until I get to 220 before I make the dicission. Keep up the good work, and stay intouch. Jim

Jim, Since you are retired and want to get out of the hustle and bustle this is the place! Not many people around here honking because someone is slow it is usually the other way around. One of the first things we noticed when we moved here was how much slower the pace of life is people take the time to stop and enjoy the roses. The weight loss is not going as well as I had hoped, but I have just refocused and am hoping that will get me going again. Thanks for asking. Techman

Hey thanks: I am retired and I return to Los Angeles about 10 years ago, and boy did I make a mis-take. I lived in Yakima for about 10 years before that. I am very sorry I moved back to LA as it is so crowded here and most everybody is in such a hurry to get nowhere. I had even bought a Hybrid SUV, but you must drive kinda slow to reap the gas milage, and no-one will let me. They honk their horn at me to try and hurry me up. Boy I am sick of it. Thanks for your responce. Jim
PS hows your weight-loss doing? Good I hope.

| The population is pretty small. In comparison to any large city. The social life pretty much depends on you. the community as a whole is pretty diverse. There are almost unlimited outdoor activities. There are many different groups and clubs, and if you prefer to be left alone most folks around here respect that choice as well. I moved here from the Portland area, about 8 years ago, and have no desire to return to a city on any type of long term basis. The one challenge here is Jobs. There are a few, but you must be willing to look.

| Not me, not yet, I'm in So. Ca. It has become so crowded down here that I am looking for a new place to move to. How's the population in your area? How's the social life there? Jim
