I've had at least 3 miscarriages and now have a very healthy 8 mo old. I was able to carry to term using baby aspirin (diagnosed w/antibodies) and through acupuncture. I am a fertility consultant and know a great deal about m/c's and fertility if you want to PM me.
"I've heard that alot of times, women can't handle the testosterone from a son so they miscarry. I know that 2 of the m/cs my mom had were boys. I'm not sure if that's a medical fact or just an old wives tale but it may be worth looking into. Or, try to have a girl!" Totally not true at all and a complete wives tale. A woman is designed to carry babies of all genders. However, a woman's immune system can be too aggressive on the embryo because it thinks it is a foreign organism (it is after all!) like a virus or cancer cell and kill it resulting in a m/c.

Hi, my mom had 3 miscarriages, 1 before I was born and 2 between my sister and me. So, it is possible :)

I had 4 m/c before I had my dd (now 5). Then I had one more before I had my ds (now 3). I've had 4 more trying for one last one, but no luck so far, and I'm almost ready to hang it up.

| I had 4 miscarriages before I had my wonderful daughter who is turning 18 next week, but I remember that pain well. For me I had to find a specialist who diagnosed the cause of my miscarriages. Best of luck to you. Miracles happen every day in that field of medicine so hang in there!

Hi,
I had a miscarriage on June 8th, 2001, became pregnant right away again and then miscarried again on September 28th, 2001. I again became pregnant right away in October, ended up in the hospital twice from dehydration, and ended up giving birth to my first beautiful daughter in July 2002. I became pregnant again in August 2003, had spotting throughout and was scared to death, but delivered my second little girl in May 2004. I thank God every day for my two beautiful blessing. I hope this helps.

| My wife and I had three before we had our little girl. She is 21 months old and healthy as can be. The first three were concieved when my wife had two ovaries. She had problems with one, had it removed and three months later we were pregnant again. With only one ovary we got pregnant and had our little angel. We both know the pain and feel for you. Good luck and God bless.

I had a miscarraige back in March of 03. It damn near killed me emotionally and I withdrew from everything for a a long time. I found out I was pregnant in October of 03 and now have a healthy and happy 2 1/2 year old boy. He drives me crazy somedays, but I love my son to death. My husband and I want more, but if he's all we have, then so be it. We're happy!

| I had a miscarriage in Jan of 04, and got pregnant again in Feb. I had no problems at all, and she turned 2 last Nov. I think it was related to my being on birth control for 11 years before that.

| I had 2 m.c.'s and went on to have a healthy son who is now 3. Even with him, we were unsure. MY hcg levels did not double as they should at first then they started quadrupling. The first u/s(6 weeks) they should've been able to see a heartbeat and he measured nearly 2 weeks behind. I went in a week later and the heart was beating away and his measurements were right on. You just never know!

| Hi. I just wanted to let you know that I had a miscarriage and then two months later got pregnant again and now I have a healthy 16-month old son. My doctor said that some miscarriages can turn out to be a good thing because it prepares your body for a full term pregnancy and after you miscarry you are extrememly fertile. I haven't done any research on that, but I did have a friend who miscarried at the same time as me and she actually got pregnant a month before me and she has a beautiful little girl. I wish you the best of luck.

| Thank you, that is very reassuring. I'm on a message board w/ other women going through this, but sometimes it really helps to hear from women who have gotten past that point and have healthy children/pgs to show for it.

My first pregnancy also ended in a miscarriage. It was twins, and the second one was also twins, and I started having some spotting very early so I just felt like my life was over, but I had one healthy boy from that pregnancy, and 5 years later, got pregnant in 3 months of trying, had no problems, and had another healthy boy. I had very healthy pregnancies, and I could probably get pregnant again now and be ok even though I'm almost 43. It's just something that happens, unfortunately. My dr. said that about 25% of first pregnancies end in miscarriage, but when it happens to you, you feel like you're the only one, especially if you don't already have kids. I think my first miscarriage may have had something to do with having been on birth control pills for a long time.(?) Just relax and don't worry too much about it. I had my easiest pregnancy at 39, and you're probably nowhere near that !

I had two m/c's last year and we are now TTC again. It's scary, but I was wondering if anyone has had this experience and then gone on to have healthy children. It's been hard since we don't have children yet and now everyone around us is getting pregnant. I was just looking for someone to give me hope that things can work great even after a loss or two. Thanks in advance!
