I just had a baby in October & I bought a few videos to do while the baby is sleeping. I really LOVE The Method Pilates video for strengthening the tummy area.

I know what you mean about moms being busy! I dont think ppl know how much a mom does during the day. I take my youngest for a walk in the stroller when my older one is at school....but it is weather permitting..I need a treadmill..lol

Is joining a gym an option? Mine has a nursery, and I can drop my DD off there and workout and shower in peace. At first it seems so expensive, but since we have a place to go everyday, I'm not spending money doing other things. Plus, they have kids hours on the weekends where we can take her to swimming or play on the track/courts, so if things are tight some weeks, we just go there for entertainment. And having to pay that monthly fee makes me soooooo much more consistent about going because I want to get my money's worth!

I'm a stay at home mom and I record the Denise Austin workouts on Lifetime every morning. Then when the kids are entertained or napping, I workout!

Another thing to think about is at the baseball practice. Do you stay and watch? If you do, start walking back and forth along the sideline or around the field. Don't just sit in the stands. This will burn a few more calories as well.

Hi Bekka,

In the Fitness Resource Center here on SparkPeople, there are several 15 and 20 minute video clips for workout ideas that Coach Nicole and a few other SparkPeople employees created for busy members just like you:

VIDEO: 15-Minute abs Workout
VIDEO: 15-Minute Ball Workout
VIDEO: 15-Minute Desk Workout
VIDEO: 20-Minute Dumbbell Workout
VIDEO: 20-Minute resistance band Workout
VIDEO: Coach Nicole's Butt-Blasting Workout

They are listed in the articles in the Fitness Resource Center under the topic 'SparkPeople Workouts' (near the bottom of the page).

Small bits of fitness DO add up! Hang in there and enjoy your family!!

Be well,
Kelly

I have the first one too and I really enjoy the workouts. The first one has 20 and 25 minute workouts, so that's actually another option.

You're definately not the only sahm on here with a busy schedule!

I'm a sahm also and I don't think many people realize that without a paying job you can still be very busy.

I've been setting an alarm and waking up an hour before the kids do to get my workout in.

I did recently get the biggest loser 2 workout dvd and they have separate workouts on there that are 10 and 15 minutes long. I string a bunch together to get my 50 minutes in, but you could just do 1 or 2 and do a shorter workout. What I love about this dvd is that they incorporate resistence with the cardio so it's like a 2 for 1 workout.
