The soon after waking you can get breakfast in, the better for your body. You're breaking the overnite fast - this starts your metabolism. When you skip breakfast - you are slowing your metabolism down. You need to eat breakfast and make it a habit. Try something simple - a hardboil egg and a yogurt or apple or cereal, milk, fruit. If you don't like it when you first get up - pack it up with you and try to eat it by 9am. Or you could try a smoothie - yogurt, fruit, protein powder, ice in the blender - meal on the run. You need to aim for a mix of carbs, fat, protein at all your meals. I eat 5 - 6 times a day. 3 meals and 2 snacks - thats what you're aiming for. My usual breakfast is old fashion oatmeal, blueberries, ff plain yogurt, flax seed meal, cinnamon. This totals 300 calories - its filling and gives me carb, fat, protein, and fiber.
Pack up your breakfast the night before and take it with you if you don't have time to sit down. Stick with it for 3 - 4 weeks and it'll become habit. People who have dieted and kept it off (they are in the national registry) all eat breakfast! You need to eat it too.

I used to never eat breakfast but after learning what a disservice I was doing to myself I decided to add it to my routine. I'm a very routine-oriented person so the first few days were bumpy and I pretty much had to force myself to do it. Now, after 3 1/2 weeks I pretty much have it down. I wake up, let the dog out, go get dressed, let the dog in, pour my cereal and then come in to the computer to check my spark emails & get my login points.

Now that it's a habit it's much easier. I stick with the easy Cheerios bowl during the week with Banana or Blueberries. On the weekends I'll switch it up to eggs one day and then back to the Cheerios I go. :)

I know that I should eat breakfast but, most days, I just don't want to.

How did you get yourself into the habit, if you didn't eat it before and have started?

Thanks!
