I have had 2 c-sections (one for each of my sons). After the first one, I had no trouble losing the pregnancy weight and my stomach went back to normal pretty quick. It was even very hard to see the scar from the c-section (bikini cut I think the dr called it).

But I gained weight between kids and I am having quite a time losing the gut from my second kid. I have probably lost the weight but it doesn't look like it especially if you look at my gut. Right now I have been trying a combination of different exercise videos (some kickboxing style, stepping, pilates). I think I am starting to see A BIT of a change but it has been VERY slow.

Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what worked for them?

Funny...I had a C-Section 2 months ago in December. I only gained 19 pounds my entire pregnancy and I already lost that weight (stopped breast feeding after the first month). But I was not thin to begin with, so I need to lose at least 30 more pounds. I had a pretty nice stomach before pregnancy, even if I am slightly fluffy, and I feel like my lower stomach is ruined. Lost the weight, but the shape will never be the same. I am hoping that losing more weight will allow my skin to fall back in place...Please tell me your secrets if anyone has any that have worked!

I had c-section too....4 years ago now. The initial 3-4 months.... my weight did not go off at all although I was breastfeeding and it is supposed to help me lose weight. (right?)

I was so occupied with my baby and did not even want to think about exercise..... After my son reaches 3 years old or so, I was finally able to pay attentions back to myself. I started exercise, watch what I eat, etc. I am now back at my pre-pregnant weight. For me, it took long long time....

I had a c- scrtion almost 19 months ago. It seemed like nothing ever helped but then I began doing Pilates again. Its great and generally easy. I used the Gaiam "Pilates conditioning for weight loss". Even a half hour every other day or so gave results after a few weeks. It has never been the same as before but its nice to eventually feel those muscles again, then after a year I got lazy and saved enough for surgery, but Pilates was wonderful and prepared me for exercise post- op. Good luck to all!

I had a c-section. Still working on flattening the belly, but I have found that cardio 5xs per week and strength training 2xs per week, have really strengthened my core and helped me lose a lot of weight (50 lbs).

I have a 4 month old baby. I had a C-Section. and I am 29 years old. I am in the military and am curently stationed in Italy. I am trying to lose like 50 pounds. I am looking for a buddy also to help motivate me. Since I am in the military, it is mandatory that I lose it. They are very strict on weight and abdominal circumferance. If you are interested in a weight loss buddy, I have similar issues.

I think that even after just this one, even if I lose the weight, I can't see my tummy ever being flat again :( But I'm still determined to get rid of this excess weight, since this is the first time in my life since I started gaining that I've been able to lose any weight. pregnancy seems to have restarted my metabolism and I'm really hoping that I can finally get out of the 'obese' category!

Really, the only exercising I'm doing is breastfeeding and walking. But it seems to be working, I've lost 6 lbs this month and 11 last. I'm doing short term goals one at a time so that I don't feel overwhelmed.

When I first had the cesarean, I didn't think I'd ever be able to do a sit-up again (I used to do 50 a day). Still no luck, but I can do 'six inches' and bicycling up and a few other tummy exercises. Hopefully, someday, I'll see those abs again!

I am having a hard time also. I have two boys 7 and 4. I had both by C section, it's very hard to shed the pounds. The worst part is after my second c section my stomache hangs down a little in that area. I am also looking for tips......- Shea

I started losing weight in October 2004 after my fourth c-section on May 27th of 2004. walking really helped me get started as far as exercise. I ate healthier and drank more water. Starting off slow helped me I believe this time losing weight. Before I would try to change everything at once. Good luck!

Hello everyone! I'm a 27 year old wife and mother. I have two children-a six year old daughter and 5 1/2 month old son. I wanted to know if anyone has any advice on losing weight after a c-section. This is my second one. Also, I'm looking for a weight loss buddy that's going through the same sort of issues as me.
