Hi Shaanon, I understand where you are coming from. I want to see my kids makign better choices too. For them (boys 4 and 8) it is not for weight losss as they are both slim, but to teach tehm life skills and healthy habits and also because they have had dental problems from the sugar and juice. We are adapting a healthier lifestyle and it was hard at first, but theya re getting it now and are realizing that sugar is OK, just not all the time. The can accept that they have to limit their sugar intake now and they are starting to monitor themselves on it too.
I had been slacking the end of 2006, but I need to get back on track with the healthier meals and more activity for the family to do together. It is just too easy to settle in front of the Tv fro a movie on a cold winter night! lol

Hello! My name is Shannon and I am here because I need to lose about 50 pounds or so, and I am trying to teach my son to eat healthier as well. Unfortunately because we are on the go so often, we tend to eat out a lot, and when we are home we don't want to do anything but relax.
That's all about to change! My son loves to go out and run around and walk and my husband enjoys the time we spend together doing things. As of today we are going to make meals together and actually sit down and enjoy them. Our lunch was a blast(all though it was more like dinner today, I work a weird shift tonight).
I am looking to talk to people who are also young and have families just as I do. I am excited. It is important for me to lose the weight but the first thing that we really need to do is actually plan meals and not eat out so much. That is one of our biggest problems and a huge factor to our weight gain(my husband and I).
If anyone has any advice or suggestions, that would be great! Happy to meet you all!
