| The newer machines are better. The more information the machine asks for the closer it will be. They won't be accurate but they will give you good idea. The machine I use at the gym I go to give me less calories then Spark. The machine makes an estimate on weight and speed and time. So, if it determined heart rate too it would be more accurate. The bottom line is that if your deficit says you should have lost two pounds and you didn't, the numbers you used to determine your deficit is inaccurate. Look for the more likely error. I adjusted my at rest metabolism numbers.
