I use the Add Food button and not the meal planner. I like to see how many calories I'm eating from the food I pick.

I haven't really looked at the meal plans. I just turned it off right away and am tracking calories. I pretty much eat the same thing from breakfast through mid afternoon snack Monday - Friday and then I cook what my husband likes for dinner and I eat in moderation. I do need to work on the fruit and vegetable thing, well, more the vegetable thing! It's not that I don't like them, more that I'm not good with incorporating variety. It's more time consuming. I'm hoping to get some great ideas here.

Glad to meet you all.

I don't actually use the planned meals either, but I do look at them alot to get ideas and the recipies I've seen are great. My husband is in Iraq, so my having to please someone else is not an issue. My 17 year old daughter is eating what I'm making because she loves me. She's a bit on the fussy side but not so fussy she goes hungry ;))) I find substituting is rather easy and love the convenience of having someone else say what's for supper!

I have to agree with everyone else. There are so many good healthy meals out there, there's no need to follow the plan. Be creative and make what you and your family like. Most meals that are traditionally unhealthy can be tweaked to support your new lifestyle. Using fat free or light ingredients or switching to lowfat mozzerella cheese instead of cheddar are just a few ways to save on cals and not feel depraved of some of your favoite meals. Then put all ingredients into the calorie counter.

I agree. I have been on one week. I have just been making substitutions and keeping track of everything. It is easier for me.

Nope, it's not just you. :)

My daily menu changes like the wind (for instance the husband bringing dinner home last night), so following the suggested meal plan is next to impossible for me. Instead I just track everything I eat.

I almost never use the meal planner (probably because I'm such a picky eater) I don't like things like fish, mushrooms, avocado, etc. I just make my own meals and track all of my calories. As long as you stay within your range AND get a healthy balance of foods like fresh veggies, fruits, meats, whole wheat pasta/bread, etc. you'll be fine. I've been on this program for almost 8 weeks and have lost 7 pounds, so I think I'm doing okay by these guidelines... I hope this helps!

I manually enter my meal plan also. It still helps you track your intake and thats fine for me. Besides, the planned meals doesn't have a beer diet...Lol.

I do the same as Cristina. I turned off the meal thingie. Enter my own stuff. If it isn't on the list, I enter everything from the wrapper, box or whatever & put into my favs. Hope this helps a little.

Is it just me, or do most people find it hard to keep up with meal plan. I find it hard to incorporate this meal plan into my hubby's idea of eating... It also seems to take a while to preprae all of it. So most days, I just eat something "normal" but do still track the calories... Is there any advice out there that could help me with this?
