Hey all, I just wanted to swing by and wish everyone a great second day for tomorrow!! Don't skip meals, eat up, and really educate yourselves about nutrition. You are going to learn how to really pull this off, so be prepared for greatness!!
Hugs, and good luck!

Hi Tammi,

If I may offer a suggestion... it is not a good idea to skip meals. Doing that will slow your metabolism down because your body thinks it will have to conserve energy because you haven't eaten. Even if you have a piece of fruit or a granola bar, it would be a better choice.

you mentioned a diet, take the opportunity to read the nutrition section under resource center. One of the great things about this website is that by plugging in what you eat everyday and trying to stay in the proper range as far as calories, fats, carbs and protein, you will find yourself developing healthy eating habits and making good choices.

Remember that diets are temporary fixes and not the answer to living a healthy life. Trust me I know, I have tried most of the diets out there. I lost weight initially, but gained the weight back plus more because I went back to eating the way I always did.

Look at it as if you are making a lifestyle change because that is what it is.

Good luck on your journey and know that there are a whole bunch of people out here who are ready to lend you support.

Regards,
Jerry

Hi Everyone, I just completed Day 1 today too. I skipped breakfast, because I usually bring it to work, I had a salad for lunch and a salad for dinner along with a glass of red wine. I am following the Suzanne Somers diet plan, I had great success on it a few years back, but then I just quit and here I am again. I feel really motivated and am glad I found this site. I look foward to sharing my progress and seeing the progress of others.

Thanks,
Tami

FAQ says:

ou'll need to create a SparkPage to add these to your message board signatures.
Go to the SparkPages tab.
Click Create a New SparkPage (or View Your SparkPage, then Edit SparkPage if you already have one).
Complete the information for the title and description of your SparkPage. Your SparkPage can also be used as a personal homepage to share information about yourself with other members. If you don't want to have your SparkPage available to others, you can check the box to keep your page private (offline).
Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the weight loss ticker.
Check the box that says "Yes, show my weight loss ticker."
Put in your starting weight and goal weight. Please note that your current weight on your ticker will update automatically when you weigh in, but we will not update your ticker starting and goal weight if you change your goals on your program; you'll need to update starting and goal weight on your SparkPage.
Select your ticker icon.
Select your ticker background.

To edit your ticker, scroll down the page to your ticker, make any necessary changes, and click Save Changes at the top or bottom of the page.
To add your profile picture, go to the box at the bottom right of your page labeled “Profile Image”.
Click “change this image”. You can select a picture from your gallery or click “browse” at the bottom of the page to find another picture on your computer to upload.
To enter text for your signature, enter it in the "Personal Signature" box on the right side of the page.
Click "Save Changes" at the bottom or top of the page.
