Hi, I have six kids. ages 20,18,16,10,5, and 1 and 1/2 years old. Plus a grandson that lives with me. My ten year old has bipolar and adhd and odd. My youngest child has a heart condition and has had two open heart surgeries. She has another one to go and hopefully that will be the last. But we have been honest with the kids. We have given them the "right" to say at anytime that they feel that the other kids that have "issues" are getting more attention...and also....I have occationally taken them out one at a time to spend time with or go eat lunch with that at their school...just anything to make them feel special

My middle child is recently getting tested for autism. (There 5,3, and 1) They suspect a slight case so its not severe. However, I don't know how to explain to his five year old brother when my three year old has a fit. I make my three year old stand in the corner but the tatrums are really bad. And, I take my three sons with me almost everyone. My middle son has a tendency to run around....he can't stay still.

How do you explain to a sibling that the other child may have something wrong and make it look like the child with special needs is favored?
