I used to do weight watchers Online, but this summer I came across SP by accident. I immediately cancelled WW Online and started SP. I have a friend that just started WW Online AFTER I told her about SP and AFTER she checked it out. I don't understand?! SP is free and it is SO MUCH BETTER than WW Online. WHY?!! I figure if I can convince just one person I will be accomplishing something.

I hear your frustration with the co-workers taht complain and complain about their weight and you try to give them the resources to help and they just make excuses and then keep complaining!

A few weeks ago I emailed SP address to a work colleague, but didn't hold out much hope she would take it up. Friday, during a meeting, she whispered to me that she has joined SP. I was so pleased that I forgot to whisper when I congratulated her, and when the meeting finished everyone was dying to know what we had been talking about. So look out, all you sparklers, the Brits are invading!

It has been difficult to encourage my co workers. there are many excuses as to why they just can't do it now. no computer, no extra time. then they complain about their weight and put themselves down all the time. It's really frustrating, but I am not going to give up on them

So far three of my co-workers have joined SP. I got them interested in joining by fist getting them interested in exercise. My husband & I started running during our lunch hour & 2 co-workers soon joined us. Then I got injured and couldn't run so I asked if anyone would like to walk with me during lunch. Now there are usualy 3-6 of us that walk together and the 3 runners...everyone is more than happy to get away from their desks for a while. THEN I got them hooked on tracking their calories burned & eaten on SP.

One of the best things I have found is that if it works for you people will ask you what are you doing right? Then I tell them about Spark. I tell everybody! I've had a couple of co workers join and a few of my TOPS friends. So it's all good!

I have not had much success. I have a co worker that is sick a lot. She smokes, is over wieght and does not eat well.
I know if she would comment to improving her life she would feel better and could improve her wieght and health. I have sent her the link to the web page and she sees that it is working for me plus I am trying to get her to join the classes with me with a personal trainer.

SueAllen-- I know how you feel. I finally convinced my first person tonight that they should try this. Even if they don't find it as wonderful as I do at least they will have tried then to complain about something they can totally change! But who can't just love this site??

The others compliment my success but don't try it-- I don't get it!

Hi i came across this site today and recommended to a co-worker who was asking me how i was losing my weight. I just started again but i know i will succeed in all that i do. Success never fails unless we let it. Im also currently studying to become a certified nutristionalist and i thought this was a wonderful place.

I'm a member of our Safety Advisory Team and I'm taking this to our next meeting, to see if I can sign up the company for a spark challenge.

I have told quite a few people about it and I even forwarded the prepared message from SparkPeople, but I have only convinced one person. I wonder why others don't try it?! WHY NOT!!!

I gave one of my co-workers a free year subscription - I won it off the Spark wheel - back when you paid but she never utilized it, although all she ever talked about was losing weight.

Congratulations on everyone's efforts to help get others involved on here. this is one of the greatest sites i have ever encountered. Over time perhaps other people you work with will come around. So, keep trying. Results are results. Sadly, my best friend has decided that she will never lose weight and that i can just get skinny on my own. That REALLY hurt my feelings.

I hadn't even thought to share this website with my coworkers, but a few of them did weight watchers several times and are constantly complaining about yo-yoing, as well as one coworker who complains constantly that she doesn't exercise.

What a great idea, I'll send them emails first thing Monday morning.

I have to laugh at my co workers they are all on their own little diets and so forth, yet they seem to have less success than I am having. I tell them about the site yet no one wants to join because I'm out there (I have a love/hate relationship with them).

How sad that people will let a personal grudge dictate their deting strategies...

At least I'll have the last laugh when I'm thin and they're still struggling!

I have gotten two people to join since starting SP in August. I have also had a couple other people ask what I have been doing. I have also given the website info to a few others. Hopefully they join b/c SP is such an awesome sight (and I get 10 points for each referred person).

I introduced this site to a coworker a few weeks ago and she loved it! She was able to track the calories she consumed and was able to stick to a diet plan and make healthy choices!

I have left flyers in the lounges and the Spark business cards in mailboxes of people who seem to want to lose weight. I also approached a co-worker who is concerned about her weight. I gave her a flyer.

Hi! I've had lots of people at work tell me I've inspired them - but only one has joined here. The cool thing about work is that we had a support group that started Jan 1, 2006 and I'm the first and only one to reach my goal - in fact I think most of the others have gotten off track, but when they see me they say they really need to get back on it. I hope everyone starts back up in Jan. and others can join me at their goal weight!!!

After watching me run to the bathroom to change into my workout clothes and go for my daily walk i FINALLY convinced one of my co-workers to do the same. AND we never snack on candy. The only thing you'll find in our office is rice cakes, fruit & carrot sticks.

I've told a lot of people, but I haven't gotten them to join. I even told my trainer because she had already paid for a year in advance on Calorie King! But I did have a co-worker ask what I was doing to lose weight and she said I would be her inspiration(I lost some weight before I joined SP, so my ticker doesn't reflect all of my weight loss).

I work in a small dental office and the other two ladies that i work with are a great support network. Even tho i am the one that weighs the most *SIGH* I introduced one of them to SP and she signed up. I am addicted to this site. My CPU went down last night and i was freaking out that i couldnt record what i ate for dinner. LOL..never thought i would do that
Hang in there everyone. I love looking at the ticker tape to see what everyone has accomplished. You are all doing great

I was able to share SP with 3 of my coworkers two of them are on Jenny Craig. I have been doing as well as the two of them they wanted to know my secret so I told them about SP we will see how it goes. I is nice to have people that understand and support your new lifestyle.

A co-worker pulled me into her office and asked me how I was loosing weight. I told her about SP and walked her through the website. She loved it so much, she has hooked 3 or 4 more people on SP! Its fun to have other people around, but I still need to do my own thing, but it is fun to have other people understand what I'm doing, and we've been giving each other support. It's fun to watch them and see where I was back in April when I started this journey.

Hi Tawny71!

I can really sympathize with you. I, too, have tried to share my enthusiasm with friends and then find myself being led off course. I think it is wonderful to share information, but unless a friend is as committed as you are...and to the same goals...you are pretty much better off following your own program. I am going to try and find a buddy on line that I can exercise with. Maybe it's possible to log in when you start to offer encouragement, and then share outcomes when you are finished. It's an idea.
