I try to keep a good little protein snack or complex carb snack in my bag if I know I won't be back home before my next meal.(For a protein snack I like raw untoasted almonds or a cheese stick.) A hard boiled egg is also a good little protein snack (but I am not going to carry one around in my purse! LOL)

A few of the low-fat Triscuits in a snack bag are good because they are whole-wheat. Any whole-wheat cracker will do, but I try to stay away from any that have all those ingredients that you know none of us can pronounce and Triscuits has like, three ingredients or something, and you know what all of them are!

All of these things help keep my blood sugar stable (I try not to let myself become REALLY HUNGRY) without consuming the calories of an energy bar.

Keeping an extra bottle of water in the car or in my purse helps me, too. Just a little snack and the water will do it for me, but a lot of times water alone is enough for me, too.

Water works all the time. My trainer also told me to eat something small before working out, but he suggested some carb instead, not only so that I wouldn't be hungry but also to give me the energy I needed for the workout. I have no scientific proof of what you should eat, if protein or carb, but to summarize, eating something before the workout and drinking lots of water before, during and after, seems to help.

That is what I was going to suggest. When your workout is over drink another bottle of water. I always do that and I usually feel fine.

Hi, Crystal, sorry to hear you are having this issue. Some of the girls in the weight class I go to at the gym were having the same issue. The instructor suggested that right before going home they eat a protein bar and drink a big glass of water with it. That has really helped some to keep from wanting to eat so much when they get home. Hope this might help you too.

Does anyone have this problem? I work my butt off, and then eat way more than I worked out. More like a mini binge, I was ravenous by the time I got home. I feel so bad, and I think what am i going to do if i gain weight instead of loose it. I cant keep gaining. Sorry for being a bummer, i am just so upset about this? any tips anyone?
Crystal
