How about this...

Find a few web sites with reliable info about the meds and side effects, and offer to go through them with your bf, so you'll both know what you're dealing with here. Let him know--in a non-threatening way--that you're missing that aspect of your relationship and looking forward to getting it back. And ask him how he thinks the two of you can work together on getting that to happen. No threats, ultimatums, or blaming--but do be honest and direct about your own feelings.

A GUYS PERSPECTIVE....My bf has e.d. He's talked to the dr, been checked out and given 2 types of meds. He's afraid to take them. Says he's worried "it" won't go back down. How can I get him to realize that this is becoming a real problem for me without making him defensive? Two years ago he was hot to trot and now nothing....
