| Pujol - I'm exactly the same! I'm a Project manager by trade, and I'm treating my weightloss programme like just another project. I track everything in Excel and it's amazing to see patterns emerge and to plot the correlation between weightloss (or gain), calories, pedometer steps, exercise etc. It also really helps to spot unwanted trends early and nip them in the bud!

| Like Pujol, I too do a daily weigh-in on getting up for identical reasons and a belief that weight-management is like a system that needs the "Feedback Loop Control" to keep on target. We see examples of Feedback Loop control system in many aspects of daily life - e.g. when driving and checking speed to stay on the right side of the law!

| I weigh first thing every morning. I'm a "weigh in and track it in a spreadsheet" kind of guy. I like to see the results of the changes I'm making. I know there are alot of factors that impact my weight change, so I don't get too bent out of shape if I lose more/less than I expected. Plus, by weighing daily, see what works and ask myself "what can I do better tomorrow"...

| I weigh-in once a week but I only do the other measurements once a month or so. Clothes either fit or they don't. What other use are those measurements?

Well, I got to lose a bit more before I start doing measurments, But I will get there.
I have always had my pants bit large (mainly because I only could find one size to big or one size too small) but lately I have noticed that they are really starting to get big on me. My girlfriend has noticed things as well... Friends and Co-workers haven't mentioned anything yet. But at the same time how often do they see me half naked LOL!

Since I'm only concerned with fat loss, and realizing that it takes more than a few days to lose any actual fat weight, I weigh myself every Wednesday. I chose Weds because it's the middle of the week, and I've had problems in the past weighing myself on Mondays.
I also take measurements, which give me more detailed information about how my eating and exercise habits are actually affecting my body. I read somewhere that it takes 2 months before you actually begin to notice any changes to your body. The more information you have, the better prepared you'll be to tackle plateaus.

| It's a nice theory, But rarely would it work that way. A daily weigh-in won't give you an acurate track of where you are going. Once a week is best, But Every 2 weeks or doctor's visit will work too.

|
| The purpose of weigh-in being to assist in the weight managment regime, a daily weigh-in in the morning before breakfast gives a constant feed back on how previous day(s) in-take/actitivity has affected. You can also then take remedial measures if necessary. Smaller remedial measures are easier to implement than larger ones and a daily weigh-in will assist smaller remedial measures.

| Once a week for sure, but I do find myself checking my weight when a piece of clothing fits better then it ever has in the past and then I also check my measurements.
|
|
|
|
| Once a week under similar conditions will give you a more accurate idea than more frequent weigh ins. Weight should not be the only thing you look at when trying to get healthier. You should also take measurements and a lot of people benefit from taking a starting picture and follow up pictures to see the difference.

Hi everyone,
Just wondering what kind of schedules are being used to track weight. Currently I am using the once a week weigh in method and it seems to be keeping me motivated by seeing the numbers drop. I was just wondering what is working for everyone else and if I would benefit by weighing in more or less often.
