I am in the EXACT SAME BOAT. Our boat has 2 mommies, 2 babies and a LOT of JELLY BELLY, right? I went from a size 2 to a now size 12 and a WHOLE lotta "muffin top" hanging over the jeans. I disguise it by wearing button-up, but still! I crings when the clothes come off. I, too, have already thought about a tummy tuck and boob job/lift. Trust me, I know how you feel and it's rough. When I look at Olivia Rose it makes me realize how worth it it was, but now, TODAY, I want and need to change it because I know that I will be much happier with my semi-old body back. Right now I feel so self-conscious about going out and doing stuff because I feel frumpy, even tho I don't really look it. She will be 10 months old on Sept 5th and I want to be in bathing suit shape by next summer so I guess I better get on the ball! Congrats on your new one and let's vow to ditch this belly mess!!

Sierra -- Try not to be so hard on yourself. You body just went through a great ordeal. If you are like me -- no one prepared me for the after mass of what having a baby would do to my body. So my advie is take charge. It maybe a slow process but you CAN DO IT. It took me just over 4 months to get to a point where I could even look at myself .... But 5 1/2 months later and I am very happy I stuck with eating right, exercising and logging on to SP ofr motivation and exercise ideas.

Good luck ..... If you ever need to vent or SHARE YOUR SUCCESS --- you know where to find me :)

Your body is not even close to "normal" only 4 1/2 months after giving birth. There are stages you go through over the course of one year and are different based on whether you are breastfeeding or not.

But, unless you are older or had a multiple birth you will almost certainly get your body back. You can use your time at SP to improve your nutrition and fitness to help establish good habits that you will pass on to your family.

Congratulations. Enjoy motherhood!

hey it takes time for the hormone levels to return to normal after having a baby and then you have to watch eating a lot of sugar if you already have low body fat and the stomach area is the only problem you might just need to tweak your eating habits and exercise. Oh congrats on the baby.

Hello all, I am new to sparkpeople and so far I love it. My only issue is finding people who undrestand how I really feel. I had my first child 41/2 months ago and he's just awsome. But I went from a size 3 to a 13 and oh believe me I am not streching the truth. I got down to about a 9/10 but my stomach is so unsexy! I was thinking about a tummy tuck, the I thought I may want to have another child and it would be a complete waste of money. I don't want to loose a whole lot of weight, I just want to tone and tighten the middle. Any Ideas?
