| Yeah and in many places the resolution is not nearly that good. I can only see my neighborhood for example, but no higher-res data is available that would let me see the swing in backyard.

| yeah it's pretty old - the photo that shows my house includes my very first car [my black mini] - when I was 17! [now I'm 22] so it's not really that up to date. I think all the pics come from various sources though so some will be more up to date that others.

| I'm not sure that GE is supposed to be 'real-time' I think the satellite takes quite a while to sweep the entire planet. The res is pretty good in some places though. Now, if that is the resolution available to the general public, imagine what the pix from military satellites are like!

| No - I think the pro version has some neat features, but I've never seen it. I just like the software cos I can look at my house and stuff. I am a sad individual at times... :)

| As far as 'Google Earth' goes, I'm not really very impressed with it. What it calls 3-D, I wouldn't call 3-D. I would say all they did was made a way where you can spin a normal sat pic around. Don't get me wrong there are still some nice things about it, but I just don't think it's all the say it is.

| OK. I was wandering through and saw this. Man, this is a loaded question if I ever saw it. I'm assuming you have windows on your PC (Maybe XP). Load up a small antivirus program like NOD or AVGfree and anti-spyware program like Windows Defender. I'd avoid Norton and McAfee because they're so big and bloated that they just slow down the machine. After that, what you want to do, will decide what you load up.

Oh how I hate rebuilding PC's!!!
I set my lappy up initially with Office, Winzip, VB, Nero, Skype, various Graphics and video editing stuff etc. Install printers, iPods, Pocket PC's etc - then when it was running like a dream I made a Ghost image. Now every few months I reimage it. It's amazing how much a PC slows down as the Registry and various caches get filled up with rubbish.
