I won't workout in front of my family. I'm fine at the gym, but I get embarrassed at home. Especially if I'm doing a bellydance video. I don't have the room to do it in my room so I need to do it in the living room.

i am the same way! when no one is home, i'll get up and do aerobics and sit ups and stuff while watching tv, but never when my family is around...i'd feel way too silly! it's pretty silly of me because i have no problem with excersizing in public at an aerobics class...i guess because everyone else is doing it too!

| My children join me in the basement when I use the stationary bike...they like to play on the equipment.

| I exercise in front of total strangers so no it does not bother me.

| Interesting topic. I can exercise with my family but I have trouble doing it in front of them when they're not working out, too. I'm trying to get over that.

I don't know if I would call it embarrassed, but I don't do it in front of hubby. I exercise in front of and WITH both my kids. They are very encouraging--or is it that they just can't believe dear "old" mom can move like that .
My mom got me up every morning to do the Jack LaLane show with her. So, don't let a spouse keep you from doing something that is going to make you feel better and help you reach your goal!! Good luck to all!

| I'm glad to know I'm not the only one.I really have to get over this! I feel better knowing I'm not alone.I was feeling pretty stupid about it.

I thought I was the only one lol. I am glad we arent alone here. I refuse to exercise infront of my hubby. Infront if the kids it dont bother me much because they usually go play and let me do my own thing anyway. I think they get bored watching me lol. My oldest son sometimes jumps in and exercises too but he usually dont last to long

| Hi. I do get embarrassed in front of my hubby but he likes to tease me. I would not work out in front of my 15yo step son either. But I love to dance and do exercises with my boys. They are used to me acting wacky so it's nothing new. My 9yo was watching me do some strength exercises yesterday and said they were dorky and lame. He's big into weights. LOL I tried to explain how it works but he just laughed. Oh well.

| i do strength training in front or wt my fiance...i don't do tae bo or belly dancing cause i feel i look awkward. i walk a lot wt my fiance and we play a lot in the park just like kids! LOL :)

it so embarrasing to work out when someones there!!! i even have a hard time in my AEROBIC/ TAE BO classes, im the only FATTY/OBESE in the class, so im the only one that really bounces in there!!! SO FUNNY!!!...but its embarrasing!!!!...wut i do is i take a BIG LAUGH and try to have a great time...i mean, at least im doing something to loose weight!!! BUH BYE

| LOLthe roof thats funny! i no its hard to do when people are home eh? my fiance doesnt go far for long either, but i do what i call silent exercise while i am sitting watching tv i hold my stomach in and release, over and over and also my butt muscles i do the same with. i also do these while im at work. and i notice the difference!

OMG im so glad to know im not the only one which of course i thought I was. My problem is my husband is always home and now that summer is here my 13 yr old is home most of the time I am or want to do a tape.
I will go out for a walk but not in this heat as that is not the same as jumpping up and down or doing a kick here or there...lol
Oh and No way will I go up stairs while they are down stairs they will think the roof is caving in on them

Ha ha I do the same thing and I am a single mom so it's only my kids...don't know y either, I think it's a personal thing...not sure i guess my DVD r walking ones but u do all kinds of things in them don't want my kids 2 think I am weird i guess..good question... also when they r in the room I keep thinking "what r they thinking when they watch me" ha I cant get a good work out at all

Hi all, yes I can not exercice in front of my family. I have to wait until they are out of the house then I pop my tape into the DVD. My family nows what I am doing so why should it be embarrassing?

Is anyone embarressed to excersize in front of their family or is it just me? I feel so silly and foolish yes i have no coordenation. I always think ill get up before everyone but if i am up I cant get motivated before they are up too.
I dont mind it infront of the lil ones its the older ones and DH
