don't worry about it. I tend to be to forward and blunt at times. I am always the one to stick my foot in my mouth. We all have things we need to work on but with the sparkpeople community we can do it together!!!

| Trying2getfit...I'm sorry if I sounded like I was trying to say you were making excuses. I didn't mean to sound offensive to you. My life is very busy and for me that was my issue, everything else before my health and well being. I thought by your post you were more worried about the excercise and eating healthy part so I was just trying to be helpful. I have been in your shoes before but at the time i was a single mom with only one child. I worked 40 hours a week and went to school 4 nights a week so I know it is hard. I wish you the best of luck with your school and once again am sorry if I offended you as this was not my intention in any way!

I would suggest trying to simplify whatever you can! Maybe there are some things you think you "have" to do that you can drop. Also, try to prepare as much as possible the night before. Make lunches, set out your clothes, put breakfast on the table, etc. Have your kids pick out their own clothes and set them where they can just jump into them. Make things as smooth for yourself as you can, to streamline your mornings and get your day off to a good start.
Also, maybe you're getting more exercise than you know! running up and down stairs, walking kids to school/babysitter, etc. Buy a pedometer!

It is a struggle. If it is school work you are struggling to readjust to, then here are some things I do: I have designated study nights, 3 nights a week. The other nights are for what ever I want, ie, computer or TV Take the kids to the park, and take one of your books, you can catch up on some reading while the kids exhaust themselves. Do a batch cook on one of the days of the week. I cook a few meals at once, so that on busier nights, all I have to do is defrost and reheat. Get the kids involved in school work too, I'm not sure of the age of your kiddos, but I get mine sitting down doing school work, ie coloring in books, or writing practice, while I do some simple study.

i do exersice I do it 6 days a week for 30 to 45 minutes a day i exersice when my 10 month old is taking her first nap I am not making any excuses i was just wandering if there was anyone else out there who was in the same boat as I was and if so to help me thrugh it because this school thing is new to me i have not been in school sice i was 16 I graduated early and then decided to have a family. So I had my first child when I was 17 and then got married when I was 18 so I am not new to the child and exersice thing just the trying to juggle the school thing into my already full schedule. And trying to stay fit while trying to make it better for my family.I also have no family that is willing to help me out a couple of hours through out the week to get the stuff I need done, done.

I have the kids and school. No husand, or partner of any sort though. Oh, and I work! It is a juggling game, but I have schedules I follow to assist. The best benefit to the schedules is that on a normal day, everyone in the house knows what is happening next, and what to expect. There is rarely any complaints etc Exercise is sooo important as part of your day, and the kids should be included in it. Get them on their bikes, while you walk briskly.

What time do you get up in the morning and what time do you get to bed? I juggled school, work, family for about 3 1/2 years and I know it is tough. Since my and my husband don't have any family that we can rely on for caring for our child, we made do. Do you have any exercise equipment or tapes at home you can use? Or when you break for lunch, can you take walks? Still, being a mother and working a full-time job, I have a planned schedule where I strength train Wednesday and Thursday morning and get in Kickboxing, Spinning, and Step Classes on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I evaluated my time and didn't want to take any of the quality time (the little that I have) from my family and this schedule as really worked for me so far.
Good luck to you!

| You know i am a mom and wife and do daycare a few days a week. My husband does a lot of overtime and so I am home with my three children alone much of the time. not to mention that my oldest has tball gymnastics and swim lessons,my middle has toddler gym and sports class and i have the two month old who is just a little baby and very demanding. I know how hard it is to fit a workout in but you just have to do it. I decided what is more important my health or having a perfectly immaculate house. I decided that If i am not healthy that i can't be the best that I can be for my family and that that is more important than anything! sometimes i am working out at 11pm or at 5am but i have made it my goal to get my workout in 6 days a week even if it is only twenty minutes. just pick a few days and start with that and you can do it. i think it is just a matter of not making excuses any more(well for me that is what it was) I know if I can do it so can you!!!!If you need any extra support feel free to sparkmail me.
