my husband is in the army. I am working on losing some weight to be more confident and he is working the baby dept. :P hopefully the two will mix and pregnancy will be better when it comes along. I am just ttc until than. I just eat my own stuff, it will keep me from being lost when i am done.

Hi. I am Chelly, my husband is in the Air Force. I found the site a about a week or so ago. It seems to be a really good site for keeping track of everything.

I don't use the menu on the site, mostly because I don't do pre-planned things that well... I am wanting to start up a basic plan, like when we have red meet and such, will see how that works.

Good luck on your losing journey.

I am glad to meet you guys. I am so glad I found this site. I think it will be the key to me really putting my all into getting myself in a better place physically. My big problem is trying to change everything all at once and then getting frustrated when life happens, as it always will. My big struggle is planning ahead with meals and such so that I'm not grabbing empty calories at the last minute. I am in the process of putting down on paper a basic schedule for our family, nothing too rigid, just a basic idea of how the day should go as well as chores, and meal plans, etc... I know as I put that in motion things will get easier because we can just look at the schedule and know what needs to be done. I have to keep reminding myself to take it one step at a time especially since I am being both mom and dad to my boys right now. Anyway, sorry for rambling, not having an adult around the house leaves me with a lot of talking to do:) ( you can only bug the neighbors so much). Good news was I got to talk to my hubbie today for awhile so that was nice.

Hi, my name is Kat and I am a single mom of a 4 year old boy. I am trying to lose weight to feel better about myself, but I will admit it will be nice to see how the ex reacts when I see him in November. He is a wildland fire fighter—the last four years while we were together he was gone for 6 months every summer fighting forest fires, so I can almost relate to your situation.

Spark has preplanned menus with recipes that you can use. I have never used them, but they looked pretty good when I looked them over. As for planning meals that are healthy for me and that the kid will eat, I just make him try a little of everything that I have. He still won’t eat salad, but he is starting to eat a lot more vegetables which will be good for him in the long run. I try to limit the amount of “kid” foods he eats, that way he knows not to expect them. What do you usually feed your kids?

Hi, I am a SAHM to an almost 4 yr. old boy and 18 month old boy. They definitely keep me busy. LOL I am hoping to lose 15-20 pounds before my husband returns from his yearlong deployment. I'm doing it for me, to be a healthy, better person, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind seeing me looking smaller. Anyway, I would love to get some support from anyone that is going thru the same stuff. Any tips on eating healthy while fixing foods kids will eat is appreciated. Thanks and look forward to getting to know everyone.
P.S. Do you have to plan your own menu, or can you just go through and choose things on a preplanned menu that spark has already made? Just wondering a little confused. Slimfast has a section that actually makes the meal plan for you.
