| I just don't buy junk. I always think to myself "Why do I want to spend $20 on crap that will make me gain weight?!" . I felt so good when I lost my first 10 lbs, so I kept it up.

| I have been faithful to my exercise and food intake but still the pounds are SLOWLY melting. I thought it would go much faster. I had to sit myself down and realize the pounds didn't come on in a month so it will take longer than a month to come off. I truly feel so much better since I started eating right and exercising. I will continue to take it one day at a time and know I am on the right road.

I agree with everyone. Take it slow. 10 minutes of exercise at a time. Get some rice cakes or the 100-calorie snack packs to sub for chips.
This might sound goofy, but look up face aerobics. You start seeing results in 2-3 weeks and it's right there on your face. It gives me a boost. People hve been asking me for mionths if I've lost weight (I haven't, that's why I joined here) just because my cheekbones are a little perkier.

| I would definately make sure you log everything you eat so you can SEE what they do for you calorie-wise. If you can stay within your calorie - even if its not healthy food - then you can start asking yourself the kind of food you want to put in your body and the kind of energy it provides.

Start out slowly, so you can ease yourself into it. Also, allow yourself treats, that way you will not crash and burn. Figure out why you want to lose weight. It has to be for you, if you want to do it for someone else, it is more likely to fail.

I used to be the same. I would try a new diet, cheat one day and then just give up.
I think planning my meals has really helped since I know beforehand what I will be eating and what impact it would have on my weight loss. I still have my off days, but because I now know how much damage I can do in one day, I am much more careful about what I eat.

what helps me is just being fed up with not feeling comfortable enough in my clothes, and feeling somewhat of a stomach when i sit down and play guitar. try to view food as necessary, not a luxury. that was my biggest problem. i used food as pleasure and enjoyed it way too much. you just need food to live and exercise, so treat it as such. its just a tool you need to complete your project.
i also printed out a picture of a musical artist i kind of look like, only he's the weight i want to be, so i posted it up, and it keeps me motivated.
just think, when you lose the weight, aren't you going to be happier than you are now? you won't have to worry about feeling depressed about it, and you will have a healthy lifestyle. is that not worth skipping junk food over for a day? i find fruit to be a very good substitute for sweet crap food. try some bing cherries and apples! i ate an apple today, and it was so sweet, i couldn't handle it anymore! it takes 30 days to develop a habit, and 30 days isn't all that long. just exercise a little self discipline, and you'll be there sooner than later.
if you give up now, you're only postponing your happiness and success. just keep thinking how it's going to feel when you achieve your goal, and you'll have no problem

That's right, start small. Take one little step at a time. Tomorrow tell yourself, this morning is all I need to worry about. And then try to stick to the diet for the morning. Once you make it past that, tell yourself this afternoon is all I need to worry about. Once you get that down to where you are comfortable start stretching it out.
I have this competition against myself to see how many days I can go without going out of my range. It seems to be working :)

Start small. Say today I am going to be good until 10 a.m. Then tomorrow back it up to 11 a.m. Are there are a couple of times during the day that you really binge? What can you do differently to change that routine?
A friend of mine said that statements saying what you can and can't do are "just stories" that we make up! How empowering! You can totally change this! I am so excited for you and the opportunity you have to make a big difference in your life.

I am feeling so frustrated that I can not stay on a diet. It doesn't matter what diet it is - WW, something strict, easy - DOESN'T MATTER! I can not say on it. Once I cheat, I give up for the day, which turns into more days, and a week. I've been doing personal training, and they put me on a diet - which I have not been on since I started 2 months ago. So my question is, how do you all stick to your diets? What motivation can someone give me to look at a bag of chips, cookies or anything else - and just say NO! Thanks all for the help and motivation!
