You would think that they would give you a reason why it is rejected so perhaps it could be motified. If they say it is because of too much fat, you could change it. Maybe they get too many submissions to tell everyone the reason.

Maybe they reject duplicates? Maybe your recipe was similar to one that's already in the database.

I had one rejected too and I'm not sure why. It won 1st place in our chili contest at work and it was low fat high fiber.

Mine was rejected, I don't know why, it was a soup recipe I have made from years, I just add different ingredients.

Oh well, I still love recipes.

I entered a recipe today for a wheatless cookie. I found it on a websearch while looking for just such a cookie. My cookbook program calculated them at 30 cals each; SparkPeople calculated them at 45 cals each. Either way, not too bad for a cookie. It was a recipe from 1918 during WWI for conserving wheat (no flour, just rolled oats in recipe).

How long does it take for them to accept or reject a recipe?

Oh, it's not just the international users...

Here in America, if you eat ANYTHING that's isn't Red, White, and Blue American, it's is NOT in the database.

Folks, I had to manually enter Egg White in my favorites, O.K. So don't feel bad. I think the recipe tools is good, but needs some adjusting.

Thanks for telling me how. It's so useless for me though, since we can't use manually entered food in the recipes, and about 80% of the food I eat isn't in SP's database. I'm actually really disappointed in this recipe tool because of that (and I've already made this known to the tech people). I was really looking forward to sharing more of my recipes, but the way this works is REALLY disappointing, and hurts us international users more than most.

You go to resources, recipes, and there is a link for the cookbook there, on the right.

I put a couple in my cookbook but they're just there for my benefit. They're not original. I do think that they do need an edit feature cause it's a real pain to have to delete the recipe and start all over.

I would like to submit a recipe but most if not all or my version of someone else's recipe. So I can't take the credit for the idea in the first place.

I screwed up and added an ingredient twice, but could not figure out how to remove it. Does anyone know?

I have, and it was accepted. I wish that the tool had an edit feature - it's hard to start all over if you mess up one amount. But it's a neat tool.

I've submitted one item so far, but it got denied. Really wish they would tell me WHY it did not get accepted... it didn't seem unhealthy, and my quantities were right. Details SP, please!

How accurate are ? I had a recipe that I got from this board that I wanted to double check the nutritional info on, and I was shocked at the difference. They calculated the calories at 3x what they were posted as. Made me wonder who to trust!

I haven't yet, I'm so perfectionist about food so I want to test them one last time, since they're recipes I made myself, before I submit them lol. Even if I've made them a million times before. Yeah, I'm lame, lol.
But once I've tested them, expect to see me going crazy and submitting a bunch of (vegan) recipes too.
