Yes i try to find the time too. I go for a walk in the evening,or walk to soccer or ride bike. But,most of the soccer is out of town which requires me to drive. But,i like to park aways away and walk that at least i get some walking in.
It gets really hard with 3 kids as you said it's like juggling. But i realize i have to take a bit more time for myself to accomplish all i need to do for me as well. Well i have a few things to do and walk on the treadmill for a bit. Talk to you soon.

Life is a juggling act when you raise kids as a single parent. The best we can do is take it one day at a time and hope we can get everything accomplished that need be each day. I have been finding little amounts of time for my exercises like on my lunch break, a walk at 9:30 at night when I get home from sports with the kids etc. I used to think if I didnt have a good strong work out that it wasnt worth it but have recently had a change of heart. I have gained 15 lbs in the past 3 years because I have not found time to work out. As I get older I realize the weight comes on a whole lot easier than it goes off. Time to find even the smallest amount of time to do something for me.

Hi Kendra,
I'm a single mom of 3. Two boys ages 13 and 10 and a daughter 11. They all play soccer right now and it keeps me very busy. They have a soccer tournament starting tomorrow. All 3 play in different towns....

My weight is the highest it's ever been as well. Gets very frusterating but i'm working on it...My kids are proud of me for wanting to lose this weight. They give me support!!

Hope all goes well and hope to hear from you again.

I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I am a single mom too, I have 2 girls ages 7 and 1. I keep the older one busy with sports, soccer, basketball, and baseball. We just got done with baseball and I coached her team this year. That was so much fun.
I also just graduated from college so now I am job hunting. I just started here and am trying to meet people for support. I have lost weight before and know I can do it again, just my starting weight is the highest its ever been which is frustrating.
So hello to everyone,
Kendra

Hi Ladies, I am a single mom with 4 boys. their ages are 19, 15, 12 & 9. I have been raising them on my own for the past 6 years and have found it very difficult to find time for taking care of me. My oldest just completed his first year of college and the other 3 are all in sports right now (1 in soccer and 2 in baseball). I have a sporting event every night of the week and sometimes I need to be in 2 places at once....very stressful. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I balance my work, kids, and personal life?

MAWHIT, our kids are VERY close in age...mine are 6, 4 and 1.5. They are definitely a handful at this age. You are one of my new heroes for doing it alone!

EST, good luck to the kids in the tourney.

WINGED, you sound like your kids are keeping your spirits up. How are you feeling?

Hope you all have a good day and are able to stay on track...time to eat my AllBran, banana and skim milk.

So how are you all today? Things are very quiet this week for me the kids have a bye week with baseball but next weekend we have our fist tourny of the season. They won there first game last week and now they are 1 for 1. The win gave the team a huge boost which is what they needed.
So how are we doing with boosting your spirits. Don't let things get you down. Things can only get better. Have a very enjoyable day.

Hi and thanks again!!! It's not easy and with 3 kids all in soccer and all in different directions on Friday is going to be tough....

I got my letter today and i go in for my biopsy on the 13 of July. I will certainly let you know how things go with that. I know my kids are really scared for me right now,i'm trying to let them know that i'll be alright....

How have things been going for you with SP? I'm really working on it but have not alot of motivation to excercise...lol. But,tomorrow will be a better day....

Hope all is well and hope to hear from you again...

Let us know how your appointment turns out. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this is a big scare for a very small and manageable (or nonexistent!) problem.

My hat is also off to you for keeping your kiddos active in sports on your own! I can't even imagine. My kids are 1, 4 and 6 and we have been avoiding getting the 2 older kids too involved in too many things as we know soon enough their schedules are going to be so hectic. You sound like a great Mom.

Keep us posted!

Thanks for writing. I am certainly working on things here. I'm trying not to get to stressed out about it at all. I did find out today though that i go into the hospital on the 7 of July. We'll see how that goes.....Then they will set up biopsy for me....Kids are a big help for me though. They are constantly hugging and kissing me and telling me they love me. Always makes my day brighter....

It's hard on us all. But we have to be strong to let the kids know that there is alway's someone they can come to and trust. Trust is a big issue with my oldest. I am just now after 10 years getting that back. I can still hear her after I told her about the divorce. All I wanted was a family....I told her that she has one her little sister and me, she told me that the family that she had in mind included her father. Not after he cheated on me for the second time.

Can I lend a word of advice......I was told by many doctors that stress plays a big factor on your health and they are now backing that up with prof. As hard as it can be sometimes......it helps to scream, pamper yourself....I like to soak my feet my kids bought me a foot soak and scrub and everything else that you need for that. For some strange reason when I get stressed I bring out the 5 qt pail (empty ice cream pail) and soak my feet. So at all cost find some kind of release from the day to day tension. Enjoy your day and keep me posted with what the Dr.'s find.

Yes it's very difficult being the single mom. The kids have had a struggle, and so have i but we're working on things together. My kids are very active in sports...it's soccer season right now but they also love riding bike...almost anything that's physical activity. I'm trying to get more active with them, but finding a struggle doing it sometimes.
Well hope you have a great day and hope to hear from you again...

Good luck to you. As a mother of 3 who is not single, it is so difficult so I can't even imagine how hard it must be for you to find the time to take care of yourself as you should with no help. Know that there are people cheering you on! And I hope it is motivating to know that you are teaching your kids valuable lessons about how they should treat their bodies and health as well. You are doing great!

Join the club....single mother of 3 all girls 17, 12, 11. I too had kidney problems. I lost my right kidney 11.5 years ago to cancer. I have been good to rock and roll ever since. I hope that things work out for you. Raising kids on your own is an emotional roller coaster. The ex has and still is no help. Good for sh_it and good for nothing. I have also found that to be true in others that I have dated. No male hate thing. Just to busy raising kids and enjoying what they enjoy, softball, basket ball DDR and now I get to enjoy college life. Should prove to be a interesting time, I've never attended college, tech school yest but not college. Enjoy and good luck to you with your medical problem. Keep in touch if you wish.

Yes it's been a huge struggle with losing weight and being a single mom. It's been even more of a struggle dealing with what the doctor's told me 2 months ago. I have some form of kidney disease....i'm still being tested they don't know what kind i've got. Plus trying to lose the weight. I joined sparks in May,and have lost 9.5 lbs so far. But,it's hard staying focused somedays.
Hope to hear from you...
