Hey.. changing your habits is hard enough.. I would set him down and talk to him.. tell him like they said.. if he wants it, go get it and eat it there or at a park or something.

Hi Foxykitten,

Congratulations on taking steps towards a healthier lifestyle. Changing your eating habits will not only help you drop weight and feel better about yourself but you will also be setting a healthy example for your son and his eating habits. I found this article in the Nutrition Resource Center along with several others if you have a minute to check it out.

Drive-thru Nutrition

Hitting the drive thru on your way home can be tempting but driving past it and making dinner has bigger rewards for you in the long run! Not to mention the money you can save by making something at home. With your son being 5, try getting him involved in making dinner with you. It could be a good chance to spend quality time together while you teach him these healthy habits. He will feel involved and when kids feel like they contribute, it helps build their self esteem too.

Be well,
Kelly

A lot of the fast food places have some pretty good salads. McDonalds does, Wendys does. If they do the rest of the major chains probably do.

well i'd suggest that if he wants to eat that stuff he should go get it himself.

and tell him to dine in while he's at it!

make enough at your healthy meal for him to have some too...and if he opt's out great! there's your lunch for tomorrow!

when my husband is choosing something i really want but should be avoiding...i eat my dinner then go for a walk and ask him to please clean up after himself while i'm gone so i don't have to look at the pizza box or the lasagna or whatever it is that he's having. he's pretty good about it most of the time because if i come home and it's still sitting out..i take it directly to the trash can. so it's out of the house lol.
