YUM! I found the Viactiv--delicious. This is just like eating a caramel(I love them) and it's good for you! I'll have to look the next time I'm at the store for the fortified milk and the V8. Getting all the veggies in is my next goal so this might be a good solution for both. Thanks for all of the suggestions-keep them coming. We'll all be thin and our bones will be strong like our minds!

| You can also get calcium fortified V-8. It helps that a glass is also 1 serving of vegis. It's a little high in sodium but not too bad.

| I use a calcium fortified milk - it's great and available at our local grocery store. LindaK

More great ideas. I found pepper jack cheese sticks today that would be an easy snack. I also found some chewable calcium--not quite dessert-like. Next time I shop I'll look for the brand you suggested Rubyslippers. I still haven't had a day when I've hit 100% of calcium recommendations--maybe it'll be today! Thanks for the new ideas and TGIF!

| If you're in the Uk try those Shape yogurts, in the advert on tv. they have some sort of fibre in now that makes you feel fuller for longer, they really do work! And only about 70 cals a pot.

mozzarella cheese made with skim milk is lower in fat/cal than some of the other cheeses. There are probably others, but that's all i know.
I also am a fan of ice cream, so I often use calcium as my excuse to eat some in the evening.

Thanks for the ideas. The yogurt with veggies is an idea I hadn't thought of. I've got 2 cups of milk measured in a pitcher and hopefully by the end of the day it will be gone. That will leave me one cup in the evening. This takes some creative problem solving! Which cheeses besides cottage cheese are low in fat/calories? I buy calcium enriched oj for my family but I don't usually drink it...another option. Thanks!

I would like to tack an idea onto Nyx's excellent suggestion which mentioned yogurt. If you don't like to eat yogurt plain, use it as a dip for raw veggies! Broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, slices of yellow squash, zucchini -- almost all raw veggies are good dipped in it, and there are much less calories & fat than one of those "Ranch" style dips!

fortified orange juice works great too, also salmon (and maybe other fishes as well)
good luck!

| to get calcium its recomended to have three servings a day - milk, cheese and yogart are some of the primary ways of getting your daily deal (and not the low fat, stuff, but the regular stuff). Drinking three 8 oz glasses of milk, three 1 oz slices of cheese or three standard cartons of yogart are what i have been told are the best ways of getting your daily deal of calcium

I am really trying to get 100% of my calcium in each day and I am struggling. I am drinking milk in the evening but I'm still short and milk once a day is about all I can handle. Any ideas besides supplements? There are so many ideas about supplements it's hard to decide what kind to take. Thanks!
