Hi everyone, Mark took my mil to the airport this morning. We had a really good visit. None of us realized it had been 3 years since she had seen us so it was good to see her. I think she was even shocked it had been that long. She has been letting her almost 90yo mother dictate her vacation time. This year she finally put her foot down and said she was going to visit her son first and then see her mother for a few days before flying home. I'm so glad they all live in other states!
Kathy & Cindi ~ I'm not sure if I'll be able to meet you in July or not since it would be during the week. I would need to make arrangements for the kids and then I don't know if Mark would be comfortable with me driving the 5 hours alone to get there. Keep me posted as the date gets closer and I'll see what I can do.
Kathy ~ How did the party go?
I skimmed posts and saw there was a challenge somewhere? After eating way too much the past few days with my mil in town, I need some kind of challenge! I'm too scared to jump on the scale right now and see the damage. Plus I can't go to jazzercise tonight b/c I'm babysitting two little boys from 5-10. I would go tomorrow night, but that's our date night so that leaves until Wed. Maybe I can convince Mark to do some Tae Bo with me after we put the kids to bed. :)

Hi everyone, Whenever you all start an official challenge, I'd like to give it a try. I was so hoping I'd be down a few pounds by our kayaking trip, but that isn't gonna happen. We'll be kayaking the 16th. That should be good exercise tho!
Kathy- what graduation is this for Stephanie? HS?

Oh Cindi.......
So I don't know my dates! I thought I had them all in my head before I wrote that. I'll have to double check with Rick. I know we get there Tuesday afternoon & I'm pretty sure we leave Thursday evening. So, Thursday is really the only completely free day.
I am trying to get things ready for Stephanie's graduation & party, which are both tomorrow. Mom is feeling awful. Too much going on.

Ok Kathy, I am confused. YOu get here on Tues, the 11th, and have work stuff on Wed. the 12th and leave on THurs the 14th?? That doesn't add up.lol Do you leave on THurs. the 13th or Fri the 14th? I hope it is Fri. the 14th, then you have Thurs. w/ no plans. If so, maybe we can do a girl lunch one day and dinner w/ husbands another. Maybe you can see my babies too:)
Let me know which dates are right. And starting the challenge next Monday is fine w/ me.

Cindi, I wanted to give you the dates again. We will be arriving on Tuesday, July 11. If you could get a babysitter, it would be great to have a mid-week date & go to dinner with our hubby's! Wed. is pretty busy with work and trip to race track. Thursday, 7/14 I will be on my own during the day. We leave that evening. Hope we can work something out with whoever can be there! If not, I will just bask in luxury at the hotel. (they have a spa there!)
Better go. I have to take my mom to the hospital today for her treatment.

I'm in on it too, except...I might not officially be able to participate until next week. Stevie's graduation is this weekend & we are having a party & out of town guests starting Thursday. Also, I will be taking my mom back & forth to the hospital for her treatments. I am in the midst of cleaning my refrigerator & realized I have not ordered a cake yet!! I hope it is not too late to get if from the bakery we love! Better get to their site & pick out what we want.

| I'm with ya. My goal is to start running twice a week early in the morning. I was gonna do it today, but no such luck so today will be some other cardio. Yesterday we walked the whole zoo so that's 2.5 hours of straight walking with the stroller. Plus I did crunches (regular and oblique) and squats. Exercise is a problem for me right now so I'm up for this challenge.

Hi! I have been so busy lately. Right now I need to jump on the t/m before taking the kids to the dentist. So, this will be quick.
I was thinking that since we have started an official challenge I would like to at least post some type of exercise. So, maybe M/W/F we do cardio and upper body and then T/Th/Sa, we do cardio and lower body exercises. Last night I did crunches and push ups. So, today I will prob. do squats and then tomorrow, use weights to do my upper body. How about we start out getting our exercises going first. Post what you do. Then we will focus on our eating! One day at a time, babysteps! This time I am looking for the kind of loss that will stay gone! Plus, the last 10lbs are the hardest to lose and keep off.
Off to do the t/m.

| Here you are! I lost you guys for awhile. I'm totally slacking on my diet! I need some encouragement. I'm just totally overwhelmed. My husband and I have started doing Ebay and now we never exercise and that kills me! I've always been good at exercising and he's better at the food thing. Now I'm dying. I haven't really put much on, but I'm stuck now. Not losing anything and he's down 40 pounds!!! Help!

Ok, Kathy, what kind of challenge should we do. I have done ok this weekend, but didn't do great yesterday. Overall, better than other weekends though.
Today I am stuffy, tired and just don't feel well. Lance is still napping. Has been since around noon. Danny just left w/ the kids. I will have to go pick them up in a couple hours for a VBS they start tonight. Danny tried to not take them since they have to go to VBS, but I just wanted a couple hours of quiet time. Or as much as I can get before Lance wakes up. I will probably be going to bed early tonight. I am going to try to go rest my eyes for a minute.

Good morning. I got up & ready an hour early for my class. I knew I had to be there at 7:45, so I don't know why I kept thinking I had to leave at 6:15!! Oh well, now I don't have to rush.
Sandy - Yes, it is a big dog. You might be able to see him better on my sparkpage and then to the photo gallery. He is a goldendoodle...golden retriever/standard poodle. He is a year old & a sweetheart. He doesn't shed much at all & is good for people with allergies.
Cindi - Yes, we should do a challenge. How about starting tomorrow or Monday. (I have already had coffee this a.m. & can't get an "official" start weight)
Anyone else want to join in?

Yes, I got an hour on the t/m. I had bought Lance a gate that totally encloses the baby. He has outgrown it. It didn't get used much. BUt, I put it to great use today. I put it around my t/m. SO, now I have no excuses. I don't have to wait til he goes to sleep. I will still try to do it, so I don't have to listen to him cry for me if he wants to get to me, but at least I won't have to worry about him trying to get on the t/m. He slept 1/2 way through my hour today, so Sarah came downstairs and exercised and played w/ him so he didn't try to get to me. I am excited that I thought of that.
So, Kathy, we are back to where we were when we first started this "competition". How about another friendly competition:) We are both aiming for around 140. I got down to 141 before I blew it. But, I am ready to get back to it! Oh, did you want me to do a blanket for the baby or was it a wedding or something? Let me know if you do. It might have been someone else wanting a baby blanket. I will have to recheck my emails. I can do both if you want. I make adorable baby blankets. Just make sure the name is spelled right first.lol
Sandy~Good to see you. Looks like you are w/ me and Kathy on the weight thing. I would like to eventually get to 135, but that will be a long process for me to lose those last few lbs. I wanted to be there by July 4th. I guess we'll see.
I need to get the kids ready for ball practice. Danny is taking them and I am putting Lance down for a nap, so I can get something done w/ no kids.

Cindi - About a month ago, I was down to 146. I was going to do just about 5 more pounds. ediet had my goal at 138. I was aiming for around 141-142. But, like you, I am now back up around 150. I was so sure I was going to do it by May 31. I also have to get back into the gym. It is way to hot and humid for me to run now. Some people still do it, but not me.
I don't think I told you that my sil had the baby! It is a little girl. She was born May 30 at 5 in the morning. My mom & I were at the hospital all night. Tammie did all natural. I tell you what, by midnight, I would have been asking for drugs! She got to the hospital about 10 the night before. I have never heard such noises! Mind you, I never have been around anyone having a baby, since mine were all emergency c-sections! I really, really am not sorry I missed that! LOL I would have liked to have healthy babies, but don't regret not having labor!! She had to push for 2 hours. The baby is Kailey - pronounced Kiley - don't know why they stuck that "a" in there. Maybe my mom got the spelling wrong. Her middle name is Elizabeth. She was 7lb6oz & 20 inches. I went shopping for her today. What fun!!
Better go. I finally bought flowers to do my hanging baskets. I want to get those done & hung.
Did you get any exercise in today? It is so hard once the kids are home all day.

Good Afternoon!
I have really been struggling getting back on track. Once again, today is the day. Since the kids have been out of school they are sleeping til about 10am and I can't get them up and out the door to the gym in time for my classes. I say I am going to workout at home, but have only done it once. I did go to the gym last night for hot yoga, but I need to get more cardio in. I think I might do the t/m again today(I did it Wed) while watching TV. So, that makes it 3 days in a row of exercise. I really need to stay away from the sweets too that seem to keep finding their way into my house! My mil sent home leftovers Wed. night. I am trying something new today. I am doing low carb for a few days to get the sugar out of my system and then get back on track. It just seems like I can't get rid of the sugar cravings. So, when I don't eat any the cravings go quicker. Plus, we are getting our pictures done tomorrow and I have been back up around 150 lately and I wanted to be 145 or lower. So, any water weight I can lose today will be great!lol
Kathy~I didn't realize you all were going to be here during the week. I thought it would be the weekend. That is fine though. I can still get my Mom to watch the kids if we go to lunch or something. I am looking forward to seeing you. I will try to remember to try to get ahold of Kelly. I need to start running to or something! So, you never said what your goal is.
I better get busy. I want to finish cleaning my kitchen before I get on the t/m. I am giving myself 30 min. to get it done! I really need to exercise and I need to spend an hour on the t/m.

Hello.
Yes, we have that busy-ness here too! I don't know why I thought I'd have time to relax after my classes ended! LOL I have been running back & forth to the doctor. I have tests & shots that I have to get before August & wanted to have everything finished early. Today I have to go back & get the tb checked. Then I'll be finished with the Dr. except for a physical. Tomorrow is my Healthcare Provider CPR class. I also have a dosage calculation exam that I have to get 95% on in order to test out of the class which will be held during July. On top of that, with school endind for the kids, you know all the activities that go on there! Then, Stephanie will be graduating, so I am trying to plan her party & get the house cleaned. Not having too much success there. The windows in my room (6) and the big windows in the Living room & music room have the window treatments that you drap over the rods. I took them all down & washed them yesterday. The bedroom is fine putting back up, but I have the hardest time with the other two rooms. I have a burgandy and cream piece - the windows are about 16 feet long & I never remember how I had them up before. I have to wait until my mom can come over & help me get them back up.
We are also having a hassle from the egg doner. She says she is coming to the graduation. I hope she does not ruin it for Stephanie.
So...that's been my life for the past couple weeks.
OK - I finally remembered to look up the dates. We'll are arriving on July 11 & leave on July 14. I am pretty sure that our company obligation is on the 12th, but I'll ask Rick. I'll love to see anyone who can come. Kelly had said she would meet up with me, but I haven't talked to her in a while. I'll have to call her. Maybe that can jump start me to get back to the gym & running. You know, when I was running regularly, the weight just fell off. But I really HATE doing it!! Oh...what a price to pay!!LOL
I'll come back & read what everyone else has posted. I need to get the little girls up for school.

I was wondering what it stood for.
We are walking the mile to the pool about twice a day right now. My oldest child is on the swim team so we have a morning practice and then walk back over in the afternoon to play.
I'm still trying to get over to the gym most days for a more intense workout than walking with children.

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend with your families. We had our end of year homeschool picnic at a farm and it was really fun. The kids played in the creek(a first for them), rode in a canoe and paddleboats on the pond, fished, and played on the playground. They had a great time.
Cindi ~ I can relate to the busyness. We have been really busy trying to wrap up school. I just emailed Joce...has anyone heard from her since mid-May?
I am going to attempt jazzercise tomorrow night. I was going to go this morning, but then a friend of mine from NC called and she stopped by with her family. It was so neat to meet her family...I wish Mark had been here. I'm going to suggest to Mark that we take some vacation time and go see them this next year. They are such a neat family.

Well Hello!
I hope you all don't mind me posting here, but May 23 was my last day with e-Diets. I started on Sparkpeople in march. I did well for about a month and then just said to heck with it. I weighed myself Monday & I had gained 4 pounds. 1 pound away from 160- I just can't face 160 or more on the scale, so I came back here and started putting in my food, water & exercise. Anyway, I found you all! :)
Who has the malti-poos? I almost got one of those but ended up getting a Yorkie instead. He has become "daddy's baby", so I am keeping my eye out for a female puppy.
Anyway, I hope you all don't mind that I pop in once in awhile. I miss having the support about eating healthy & exercising. They say it gets easier, but I have not found that to be true. BFN ~Sandy

Well, tomorrow begins a new month. Start planning now for it. What are you going to do to stay on plan? Fit in more exercise, eat healthy, drink water. Plan now.
I am so busy these days I am struggling to keep it all together. It will work out. I just need to put myself on my list!
