That sounds crazy to me? I can't belive they don't pick up the children? how weird and usually there is a rule for the number of people working to the number of children in the daycare?? at our gym they will do everything there for you, but it's nice being right there in the gym just in case. they also have 1 full time lady, and a few part time girls and then high school students who volunteer for free memberships and they are all fantastic! I work at the gym so I only pay $2 but I believe it's only $5 for 1 child and $8 for two, and that's for however long your at the gym...the hours are from 8:15-11:30, Mon.-Sat. and mon and wed evenings from 5-8:30 or something...it's great!!

We have daycare at our gym, but they won't feed, change, or pick up the baby, and there's just one attendant for however many kids come in. Essentially, they'll watch her sleep and let me know if she wakes up for $2.50 an hour. When I get out of the cast, I'll just have my husband watch her again while I go, I suppose.

We don't have any of those programs they sound like they would be fun. Our town is fairly small, it's been pretty good though. I work at Goodlife so I am used to going there I guess but it would be a nice change to do something else as well.

We have a good city recreation program, especially for new moms. theres strollercize, baby worx (cardio, strength and endurance), the mom/baby water workout and mom/baby yoga. Here in Red Deer, we also have an amazing trail system that encompasses all of the city. I just started back at work (part-time) in May. Its okay, but if I have any stretch of time off, I really dont want to go to that next shift.

I just realized you live in Alberta...you must have lot's of stuff there!! I live in Rothesay New Brunswick, very limited but I am finding new stuff to do all the time....although my maternity is up soon, and I keep telling my husband that I don't want to go back to work and he says well don't and then we joke about getting pregnant again so I can just go back on maternity...even though we really want to start trying again...I think I'm going to go back to work and then see what happens from there

where do you live? It's a Goodlife gym, we have 2 women's clubs and a co-ed and they all have a daycare...very convenient

I love our water baby workouts here. Its doesnt feel like exercise when your're doing it, but my muscles sure felt it the next day! You're very lucky to have a gym with a daycare in it...I don't think any here do.

Going for walks is great exercise and you get to spend time with your baby. There is also a water babies program where I live, it's every wednesday. I don't make it every week but it's nice to know that if I wanted to do something different I could plan to go there and you meet other moms and babies. The reason I can get to the gym often is because the gym I go to has a daycare right there in the gym, and it's nice being able to go in and check on my little one during my workout, makes things a lot easier. there's lot's of programs out there I guess you just have to find them and see which ones are good for you!

I know exactly how you feel... I guess we just have to have patience. I really don't have much time to exercise on a regular basis, however I recommend taking the baby for walks in the stroller whenever possible and really watching what you eat.

Hi!

I'm a new mom, too. My daughter, Mikaela, is 4 months old. I've been on the diet for almost 6 weeks now, but I broke my ankle and haven't been able to exercise. It's been really frustrating. I'm back at work, but I'm anxious to get back to my "normal" shape! Anyone else sick of wearing maternity clothes? I'm not even comfortable in many of those - showing off the belly was cute when I was pregnant, but I certainly don't want it to show now! I've lost all but about 5 pounds of the pregnancy weight, but my /shape/ is completely different, too.

Congrats on your new baby. It really just takes time. You just need to eat healthy and exercise daily. Keep up the good work!

Thank you! I wanted something different but not too crazy, or something she wouldn't like when she was older.

Hello Courtney (and all the other new moms too!)

Congrats on your recent deliveries! I hope everyone is healthy and adjusting well. I wanted to share an article that I found in our resource center. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, the Fitness Resource Center has so many great articles on this topic in the family and lifestyle section, as well as some really good core exercises to start with.

Rebuilding Your Core After Pregnancy

Hope this helps!

Hi ladies!
My daughter is 5 months old. I am dying to loose this belly! I feel like I still look 5 months pregnant!!! For those of you that have been doing this a while, how have you lost the weight?
Is is adherence to the menu? or following through the exercises?

I know it can be done, what can I do to be most successful here?

Congratulations on the new babies both of you!

Loosing weight is the best bet for losing the belly.

Hi, my name is Courtney and I am the mom of a 4 month old little boy,Owen. I have been part of Spark people for 21/2 weeks now and love it. I have lost 6 lbs but have not noticed any inches lost and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for loosing the extra weight around the belly.
